From the moment Astrid Doupon was born she was formed and grown to become the hero of the were-race. After ages of the idea being screwed into her, she is convinced that it is her one and only purpose. While she was unconscious a vivid dream occurs and she meets the moon goddess Serena. Serena explains how Astrid is Luna's sister and that they were separated at birth. She is then told that her only purpose was to be a replacement when Luna was taken away. Luna is the rightful savior of the werewolves, in other words; Astrid was just a mere pawn.
