"Mimi! I'm leaving now!" Dylan yells as she shuts the door behind her. Mimi seng Dylan to town to get ingredients for medicine for her neighbor Austin. Dylan begins to walk to the road with her long blue hair following behind her. Dylan is the prettiest girl around Abysris. Only being 16 she still has gotten many marriages proposals for all kind of men around. Some men have even gone as far as to try to buy Dylan from Mimi. None of them have succeeded though.

"finally made it to the fork in the road," Dylan says was a hint of exhaustion. The fork goes three ways left Abysris right the meadows and the middle is the ocean. Dylans favorite place in the world. Her father use to take her there all the time. He tried to teach her how to boat and he always wanted her to become a fisherman just like him so one day they could go fish and have a good time. A memorie flashes in Dyalns mind.

"Dilly, no like this," Father said to her as he showed her again how to tie the not for docking.

"Daddy when can mommy come out here with us?" Dylan only being 6 at the time asks.

"Dill you know mama doesnt feel too well," He explains to his daughter. Next week her mother passed away. They never figured out what was wrong but they sent her off in a raft and set it a fire. Dylan's eyes began to water at the flashback. She keeps left and heads to town to get the ingredients. She finally gets there the town is so noisy. Everyone is excited for tomorrow festival. They say the prince is coming all the way from the capital.

"Daddy look at this!" a little boy shouts as he runs past Dylan and almost knocks her down.

"Oh my sorry about that," The dad says as he runs passed as well.

"I miss my dad," Dylan mumbles.

"DYLAN!" A man shouts from across the street. Dylan looks over she begins to smile as this man runs up to her and picks her up and gives her a huge bear hug.

"Tyler!" Dylan yells as he puts her back down.

"WOW you've grown up!" Tyler says as he looks her up and down.

"How long has it been?" Dylan ask.

"4 years last month, You see how tall I am now," Tyler points out. As he waves his hand above his head to show me.

"Wow that long huh, so I was only what 12 when you left for the army," she explains with a smile on, "How was it? got any good storys?"

"None that a little girl should hear," Tyler says with his finger swinging side to side as if he were a mother.

"Wow you and Austin are the same!" Dylan yells with an eye roll.

"Austin's still around?" he asks.

"Yeah, well he left about 2 years like you but he got hurt and they sent him back but when he came home his family was gone they left for the capital so now Mimi and I take care of him," Dylan blabbed.

"How did he get hurt?" Tyle digs deeper.

Dylan shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know he won't tell me."

"Wow hey we should go get some food and talk some more," Tyler suggests.

"Oh no I can't. I have to grab some more ingredients for Austin's medicine and it's getting dark so I better hurry or the wolves will get me," Dylan laughs.

"Oh yeah sure, see you tomorrow at the festival!" Tyler shouts as he walks away.

"Sure," Dylan mumbles with a smile and wave. "Now where do I get Daisy's flower head?"

LATER ON

"Okay got all I could find the sun is beginning to set I better head to Mimi or she'll come out for me," Dylan says as she checks the last thing off her list. Dylan begins to walk home but she keeps getting a feeling that someone is following her. Dylan begins to feel anxious. She starts walking faster. "maybe it's my mind messing with me," she thinks.

"Hey Dylan come here! come have fun with us!" a group of old drunk men yell at her. Once she began to start walking faster so do they.

"Sorry but it's late and Mimi will start to worry if I'm not back soon," she say as she begin to lightly jog. "oh God, what do I do!" she begins to freak out. The old men dont stop theh begin to jog. then she starts to sprint. They follow. Dylans eyes begin to water blocking her vision. She sees the signs for the fork. "Once I get on my road if I scream Mimi should hear me" Dylan starts to plan on her escape. Dylan's getting tired. she cant run anymore. *BAM* She trips over a rock. She gets up as fast as she can and darts forward she cant see a thing her eyes are so watery and now have dirt in them. Shes dragging her feet now. Most of the old men stopped running and some of them began walking. Dylan wipes her eyes to find that shes at the beach. "What why am I at the beach? did i change direction when I fell?" Dylan far away from Mimi or anyone that can save her now. She begins to scream, "Help me!" The old men finally are at the beach as well.

"What a beautiful night to have some fun," One of the old men said as he stepped forward," I remember you staying no to me last month."

" I'm sorry," Dylan says. The old man walks up to Dylan. "I cant move why cang I move!" she says in her mind, " Oh god no please stop."

He grabs her wrist and says,"I'll ruin you." Tears fall from her eyes. She falls to her knees.

"Not here not the place where I grew up I can't" she mumbles. The old man lifts her back up and looks her straight in the face and spilt in it.

"*****, no man will ever love you, your own father left you. He says it's to pay for food but we all know hes tried of you," the man says. He let's go of here and begins to hit and kick her repeatedly.

The old men join in and start saying mean and harsh words,"*****!" "Slut" "Daddy hates you" "die" "what a waste of space". Dylan begins to loss consciousness. She out cold.

"Dilly what's wrong?" a voice says.

"Mama they said that I was a mistake and that you and daddy hate me," baby dylan cries out.

"Dont listen to them okay, you're so special to me and your father was love you so much!" mama answers with a tear running down her face.

"Mama! Mama!" Dylan screams as she wakes up. "Don't cry Mama!" Dylan looks around she's in a tent and is bandaged up. She jolts up.

"Hey take is easy, you were banged up pretty bad," a deep voice rings in Dylans ears. A man walks in the tent. Hes very tall, has dark hair, and has a military suit on or it's just really fancy Dylan can't tell.

"Who are you? Why am I here?" Dylan ask but her eyes begin to shut once again as she goes in a deep slumber.

Dylan passed out after being beaten by the old drunken men. She wakes up and finds herself in a tent and all her cuts and bruises are treated. A man walks in and then Dylan faints again after a brief discussion with the man.

"Hey girl it's time to eat if you want to wake up its lunch time!" a man's voice calls out to Dylan.

Her eyes begin to open the light hurting her eyes. she looks over to where the sound came from. The man standing there with a bowl of soup. "What happened?" Dylan ask as she holds her head.

"Well I was coming back from town I heard and group of old men laughing and saying that they beat a girl up at the beach so I headed over there to check and you were laying on the sand bleeding all over so I picked you up and brought you back to the meadows with me. You woke up like an hour ago but you passed out again." The tall man explained to her.

"Oh yeah I remember. They chased me down and then I thought they were going to rape me but they were so mad all they did was beat me up," Dylan mumbles.

"No one can hear you when you mumble!" he says with a tone. "there's food over there girl its soup with some bread."

"My name is Dylan. You?" Dylan ask.

"You sure feel better huh." he switched subjects.

"that's not an answer, whatever,"Dylan says as she gets a bowl and starts eating. "not bad," she thought. Dylan looks at the man while he eats. She brings to blush she didnt realize he was so husband before. She snaps back and continues eating. "I wonder if Mimi is worried about me" she says.

"who's Mimi?" He ask. Dylan looks up in shock that she said that out loud.

"sorry I didnt mean to say that," Dylan replies. "I should leave soon I have plans, Thank you so much I won't forget your face since you didnt tell me your name."

"Its Aaron," he says as he continues to eat. Dylan shakes his hand and exits the tent. Dylan begins to follow the road. Her body feels better then what she thought she'd feel like the medicine he used must have been really good. Dylan keeps walking until she sees the fork and then turns down to her road. her eyes begin to fill up with tears as she gets closer and closer to her house she thinks about how grateful she is and screams out " Mimi I'm home!" she flung the door open and sees Mimi asleep in her chair. Dylan calms down and head to the bath to clean herself off so she seems better then what she is.

Dylan aches all over. She flinches everytime she goes over her body with the rag. The soap stinks with every stroke of her hand. The bruises on her ribs are the worst. She did her best to protect her face but Aaron's medicine really helped with the swelling. She begins to hear Mimi moving in the next room.

"Mimi everything okay?" Dylan yelled to the next room. As she moves closer to the door to listen for her response.

"Yes sweetie! I just need a drink," Mimi replied. Mimi is Dylan's care taker every since her mother got sick. Mimi is very old but shes the sweetest old lady you'll ever meet. Dylan reaches for the towel to dry off and get her clothes on for the festival. She has this very cute sundress prefect for tonight's festival. She checks out her face in the mirror so when she tells Mimi what happened she wouldnt freak out all the way. She looks in the mirror her blue hair still so silky and smooth. Her freckles are really dark today. and her dark brown eyes look black as always. She opens the door and walks out.

"Wow daring you look fantastic," Mimi blurts out with a smile.

"Thanks I thought I might as well dress up for tonight's festival, are you going?" Dylan ask.

"Oh heavens no," Mimi giggles. "I'm too old to go out and dance."

"Mimi you'll never be too old," Dylan explains. "welp never for me at least."

"oh my sweet little girl," Mimi says as she hugs Dylan.

"ugh!" Dylan flinches.

"what's wrong honey?" Mimi asks as she gives Dylan a worried look.

"Don't be mad," Dylan says,"but I was coming home last night and a group of men attacked me and beat me up. I wasn't badly hurt but another guy came and healed me up and took care of me."

"Whag the hell! DYLAN!" Mimi screams," did they touch you? who was it? tell me take a look!"

"Ah!" Dylan mumbles as Mimi starts to look at her wounds.

"I'm so reckless, I should have had Austin go with you, I knew it was going to be late when you head back but I never, ever thought this would happen, oh my poor little girl," Mimi apologied. Mimi's eyes fill with tears and she begins to ball.

"Mimi it's not your fault, dont take the blame on this okay," Dylan says as she hold Mimi in her bruised arms.

Mimi stops crying after awhile and she goes back to checking Dylans wounds, "who took care of you again?" Mimi ask.

"This guy names Aaron and hes dark and very tall," Dylan replies.

"huh he did a good job on healing you," Mimi says.

"do you think I'm good enough to go to the festival with Tyler and I was thinking about inviting Austin, get the old gang back together," Dylan says.

"Only if they pick you up and drop you off because I don't think your body could take being beaten up like this again," Mimi explains to Dylan.

"Okay I should go ask Austin then," Dylan says.

Mimi found out about Dylan getting beaten up. Mimi began checking on her wounds. and then Dylan asks if she could go to the festival with Tyler and maybe Austin. Now Dylan is about to head over to Austin's.

"Okay I'm going to go ask Austin," Dylan says. Mimi shakes her head yes and takes a step back so Dylan can leave. Dylan opens the front door and heads to Austin's place. Austin lives right next to Mimi and Dylan since hes came back from the army. Dylans arrives in not even 5 minutes.

*Knock knock*

"Who is it?" Austin's voice rings though the door.

"Its your favorite person ever!" Dylan says in a cutesy voice and a cheeky smile. The door nob began to wrist and the door pops open.

"what's up with you?" Austin ask.

Without missing a beat Dylan say, "Mimi wont let me go to the festival without you to protect me so," Dylan pops up her lower lip and brings out her puppy eyes," can you pretty pretty please go with me!"

"no." he said.

"But I asked really nicely!" Dylans says as her foot slams on the ground and she crosses her arms.

"I dont care I wont go with you have someone else go," Austin grumbles.

"fine I'll just go by myself with Tyler-"

"Tyler's back?" he ask, "I'm going now."

"Yay!" Dylan says. Austin smiles as him and Dylan begin to walk down the road to town. "Austin's so tall now, I remember when he was shorter then me and how me and Tyler would always pick on him," Dylan says in her head. "I remember when that girl had a crush on him but he said no and made her cry, I wonder how she is," Dylan continues. "Hey remember that girl that asked you out but you said no, whatever happened to her?"Dylan ask.

"Oh Lily, she moved across the country to a bigger town," Austin says. "why do you ask?"

" I don't know I was just thinking about our childhood," Dylan says.

"oh I remember when you'd always climb those big trees in the meadow and you could never get down so you'd start crying until I came up and helped you down," Austin giggles.

"Hey stop it! I remember when Tyler and you got in the big fight and you and him didnt talk for a week," Dylan laughs. "gosh what was that fight about anyways?"

"I don't remember," Austin says. "the fight was about you dummy," Austin grumbles under his breath.

"You say something?" Dylan ask.

"nope." Austin says as they keep walking passed the fork and closer to town.

As the two of them enter the town square they find Tyler, "Hey man!" Tyler says to Austin as they high five.

"What's up?" Austin replies as he puts his arm around Dylan.

"Nothing much, you?" Tyler says as he looks at Dylans red and blushed face.

After a long pause Dylan says, "What do we want to do first before the prince comes and gives his big speech?" Dylan says still with Austin's arm on her shoulder. "Why is Austin being so overwhelming right when we see Tyler?" Dylan asks herself.

"I think we should get some food I'm starving," Tyler says with a fake smile.

"Oh yay I'll never say no to food," Dylan replies with a giggle at the end. Dylan pushes Austin's arm off her and began walking over to the food court. She doesnt hear footsteps following her so she turns around to see austin and tyler staring at each other. "Hey come on all the foods going to be gone by the time you guys get done!" Dylan shouts at them. Both the boys stop and head towards Dylan.

"Tyler you're paying right?" Dylan says cheekily.

"what come on you know I'm broke dill," Tyler says with a laugh and elbows Austin.

"I can pay," Austin says. Dylan laughs with excitement and begins to jump up and down. Dylan goes around the food court. The first one had fruit. The second one had nuts and meats. The third on had out of state food which cost a fortune! the forth one wasn't open yet. and the fifth one was selling sea food. Dylan grabbed a banana from the first one, a porkchop from the second one, a duck leg with vegetables, and a fried squid on a stick.

"You better eat all that," Tyler say as he stuffs his face. Austi.n pays for the food and heads over to the table Dylan chose.

"Yeah both of you better eat up," Austin says as he sits down.

"I will," Dylan says with a stuffed mouth. "why are they still being weird with each other?" dylan thinks to herself. "okay what's going on between you two?" she ask.

"nothing why do you ask?" Austin says like a little kid that's been caught red handed.

Dylan looks over at Tyler and squints her eyes waiting for him to confess. "Fine!" Tyler let's out, " We are being weird and we can talk it put just not with you around so eat and we'll go over there and talk about it okay?" He finishes.

"That's what I like to hear," Dylan says with a grin and continues to eat.

The boys finish eating before Dylan and they head over to her left to talk about what's going on Tyler starts to talk first he looks a little upset. Austin's standing with his arms crossed just nodding his head up and down. Austin begins to talk. Tyler nods his head and they hug it out. They begin to walk over as Dylan finishes her food. "done?" dylan ask.

"Yeah we're good now,"Tyler says with a smile.

"yeah we're good," Austin follows.

" Yay! we're back BABY!" dylan yells as she begins to do this cringy dance moves.
