Everything is going fine. Ever since the big incident that happened two years ago, it has been unusually very calm and peaceful. I go to the office as usual 7 am in the morning. It has been tiring yet satisfying. And I can ask no more. That incident is something which is not directly related to me but it made a quite an impact on me and my life. But I don’t want to think about bad stuffs early in the morning… so let’s just forget about it. And it is alright now.

I took the toast out of the toaster and had a great breakfast with milk. It usually takes thirty minutes to reach the office. My mind was flooded with so many thoughts. So before I know, I realized that I reached the office. I went straight to my floor because my boss gets cranky even if I get a little late. I took lift and pushed my floor number. The lift was going to stop but then I heard the voice coming from all over the hallway.

“Wait!!!!! I am coming. Please wait!”

Luckily I heard that in time or else he had to wait a good ten minutes. And because I know that being late is like a hell in this office so I stooped the lift. He was literally running his lungs out.

“Thank you! You saved my day.”

He could barely breathe but he thanked heartedly. I nodded in response. I didn’t notice from afar but then I figured that this was the new face I have come crossed. He must a new employee. His face was delicate and sense of innocence could be seen all over his face. As if he is new to this entire world and don’t know the world’s rule yet or how cruel this world can get. Well, that is not my business at all. But this can’t change the fact that was quite a unique face.

He had this big round eye that reminded me of the rabbit. His eyelashes were so long, face that was so bright that was so hard for me look away from it. It was as if my eyes were captured and wanted to take a personal image in my eyes. I was curious about him and wanted to know more about him, so I tried to start the conversation.

“Are you new employee?”

“Oh yes! Today is my first day here. And again, thank you so much for helping me earlier.”

“Well that wasn’t a big deal. Don’t mind it. From which department are you, though?”

“I am an accountant. This is my first time working in a big company like this.”

“Oh yeah? Then we will be on the same floor.”

“I see. Please take care of me. Then do you mind if I ask what do you do?”

“ Yeah, sure.Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. I am Shinji. I am CEO’s secretary. Nice to meet you.”

“I am Ryu. Nice to meet you too.

“Ding!” We arrived at our floor. We kept each other’s company for a while and then parted ways. It was a great meeting. Even though we met for the very first time, I didn’t want to go away and look away from him. I showed him his department.

“It has quite a long time since I have met my type”, I wondered.

I went straight to CEO’s office and greeted him. And his response was as arrogant as ever. I was wondered if he hates morning greetings so much, then why can’t he just say no?? Well that didn’t matter anymore cause I have grown used it. Now that I think about it has been almost 10 years since I have worked here.

People here say that my boss is closest to me. I can neither refuse this nor agree to this cause I have been his secretary from the very beginning. I have seen all his good days, bad days, moody days and excited days. I know much more about him than the people around him. But this is all. I have never met him outside the work. I don’t know much about his private life either… apart from his active sex life and sending gifts to god knows how many people? Yes, people… it doesn’t girl or boy. He was open to all of them. Isn’t there a saying “If there is a will, there is a way.” But for him it was “If there is hole, there is a way”.

But these things never come in the way between his works. He was an extreme perfectionist and ambitious at that too. And maybe that is also the reason that I have been working here for so long. It is quite easy by his side. And maybe he has a soft spot for me too.

“Shinji. Shinji! SHINJI!!!”

Those words woke me up from my all day dreaming which I dared to do at office. And it was none other than my boss calling out for me.

“YES, sir! “ I yelled.

“Where are you lost? I have been calling for quite a while.”

“Oh, sir! It is nothing. So, what do you want me to do?”

“I want you to send me the documents that I asked yesterday.”

“Ok sir. I will send it immediately”

Before I even completed my sentence, he was vanished from the site. Well that is how he has always been, so what can I even say? I hurriedly completed the task I was assigned and send them.

Just like that the whole day went by. I was so busy the entire day that I couldn’t think about the angel I met today. I was having those thoughts when I was exiting the building, so I didn’t pay much attention to my surrounding because it was already this late. Barely, I could sense any soul.

I usually walk while coming back home because it was always soothing, refreshing and a chance to stretch my muscles. Walking down the street, I bumped into a drunkard soul. I stumbled and hold on tight to that person just to regain my posture, but it backfired.

I could feel a heavy weight on my poor soul. I opened my eyes to see that drunkard laying on me. I tried to stand and help him but I was too shocked to process what I saw. I couldn’t move a soul.

I was shocked to see the face of the person on the top of me in the middle of the active street. That person was none other than the so called “angel” I met today. Yes!!! That person was Ryu. There were two reasons why I couldn’t move at all. One, I was shocked to death to see the drunken Ryu on the very first day and second, his weight was pushing me down.

I tried to get of this situation and tried to move around but that was the failure on my part. It’s not that I was weak or less muscular but he was on the another level. Maybe it was because he was griping me so tight but in the end it was surprise to see such strength from such fragile body.

“Oh god! I was searching for you everywhere but here you are. Acting like a complete drunk yard on the very first day and laying on the top of-“he gasped.

The man pulled him up and I stood up straight. I tidy up clothes.

“I am sorry, sir. I didn’t notice it was you. I couldn’t stop him. He is a newbie; please forgive him for his behavior.” he said

I could notice, that man was tipsy for sure but he was acting as sober as he could and maintaining his professionalism in front me. Though I am CEO’s secretary, but because of the work and experience, everyone respected me. It won’t be wrong to say that I was as important as CEO because I used to do his work in his absence.

“You account department’s manager, right? You should look after your juniors carefully.”

“Yes, sir. My name is Hagashi. I am sorry for my negligence. There is a welcome party of this guy here so we all were pretty wasted.”

“That’s fine. Send everyone home. It’s pretty late already. “

“Yes, sir. “

“Okay, then I’ll be on my way.”

“Goodnight, sir”

“Goodnight”

I walked as if nothing happened but that was just a facade. I was feeling so hot that it was difficult to breathe. I was panting heavily. My face was as red as beetroot. Those touches which I felt against my body by that unfamiliar yet familiar body could be felt as fresh as new. His cologne was making me dizzy making me forget everything around me.

Yes, I admit that I have been in relationships before. But none of them felt like this. He was so my type that I was so afraid of this unknown fear. Just by the thought of it clenched my chest that I was feeling so restless.

I run back to my home and had a cold shower to calm. Today was quite a day. I lay down on my bed after a quick dinner. Before I knew, it was the next morning already. The sun was up in the sky. I got out of my bed and followed my daily simple routine. And the thing I knew was it was already the time to go to the office.
