"Murder of a famous and successful CEO of Megatech enterprises was committed. His body was discovered inside his own house, despite the security he had. The series of murders of CEOs and shareholder of businessmen has been going on. How long the citizen will stay in fear? The murderer is suspected to be the Shadow. Will the police be able to find him and rot him in jail as he deserves? Or will the police also stay in fear and let it slide?" -click the *bleep* sound of the closed TV was heard as Kaida turned off the television with a deep sigh leaving from her mouth as all the news channel ranting only about the Shadow and the murder of the successful businessmen.

All the city well - scratch that whole country has been living under the fear of this monster named Shadow. Not only businessmen but common citizen also has been the victim of this cruel killer. Killing people was just like a game to him. His people are everywhere so you utter a single word about him you are dead that's why the TV channels are paying a lot to the news reporter just because their safety is on the line.

No matter who you are or how powerful you are, no one is safe from him. And the fact his true identity is unknown makes it even worse. He might be having a normal chat with you on the train sitting beside you or you might bump into him on mart and parks but you never know.

Kaida was noting down these things on her Journal as she was one of the journalists and news reporters.

She has been working as a freelance journalist after not being able to pass her detective exam. But after seeing her capability and endurance, one of the senior officers of the crime departement suggested her journalism- as she could do free research without having any restrains from superior.

She was also recruited by the HQ that was supervising the case on Shadow. She worked for them by providing information. Most of her information was really proved to be vital and important.

She might seem just an innocent girl but she has been trying to track down the real man behind the name Shadow and know his real identity. She knows it's risky but you just gotta do what you gotta do. The payment is more than enough to live more than an average person.

She was happy with what she was doing and was not even a bit afraid of what she was doing. After all she had nothing to loose.

But what she does not know is when the future will hit her hard she won't be able to stand up.

"*This is the evaluation of all the study and investigations I have done of shadow's murder pattern and the victims."

Kaida said reporting to the HQ of the National Bureau of crimes and investigation.

*"You have been working really hard on this, you should take some rest too."* Mrs.Reese, one of the chief lady officers told her as she has worked her sweat off for this project. Kaida was hired specially by her and the only one who knew Kaida was doing special investigations.

*"It's not that much and thanks for your concern. I will try to take some."

Kaida stated bowing to her and leaving towards the News company.

She has been working and investigating on Shadow's case for more than 3 years but everything in vain, no success till now. She has been doing everything she can, analyzing the previous cases, and some of the time she was successful enough to predict the next victim but it was just not enough to catch him.

She even joined the special forces and learned all the basic techniques to use guns and ammunition.

She is a black belt holder and excels in everything she does. No candidate can be as perfect as her for this job, at least that is what she thinks.

And today also she has been on her laptop with the coffee on her table for 1 AM. *"Yes! That must be it! You are genius Kaida Lynx!" She clapped her hands for her own appreciation.

*"This time I am gonna know who is behind that black mask. Just you wait Shadow."* She thought and closed her laptop with a satisfied smile displaying on her face.

*"And that's done now! Just be careful."* Kaida's roommate and her best friend Nikita told her after finishing her make up. Nikita knew what Kaida was working for and even tried to stop her but all was in vain, Kaida was really a stubborn girl.

She looked at her new look, totally satisfied, she looked badass on the leather jacket and the black ripped jeans. On the other hand she looked cute type of bad.

*"Yeah, don't worry. I am not called the best actor in our office for nothing."

*"I am not talking about that. What you are dealing with is not just a bunch of gangsters but also a very ruthless bunch of peoples who have taken a lot of lives. No matter how good you are on your job, it does not cover up with the fact that they can kill you even if they get a hint of suspicion."* Nikita told her with a concerned look on her face. Kaida just smiled at her and nodded saying her that its gonna be just fine.

"If I get dragged down in this fight, I will make sure to drag him down with me."

"Boss we got hold of her real identity. She works at xxx news station and her name-

"I don't need her name. Just drag her in front me, alive." The man on the other side of the phone pressed with his deep commanding voice.

"*Y-yes sir."

*beep* *beep

The man on the black suit placed the phone on the table.

"How long will you be able to hide like a rat?"

He chuckled but soon after it turned in to a sinister laughter.

*'The future will always be unpredicted.'

With a clumsily drawn map on her hand, Kaida was standing in front of what looked like an abandoned building on the outskirt of town. She took in a deep breath one last time and entered with a confident face no matter how much the place screamed danger.

 She was stopped by a large built-up man standing in front of her. His face itself was scary as there were scars. But no matter the situation She kept her tough girl vibes and raised her eyebrow at the man.

"What are you here? It's not a place for a little girl like you to play." The man said looking down at her.

She just scoffed. "A little girl huh? Let us see if you can mutter even a single word after getting beaten up by this little girl." Kaida was full of confidence, even a glint of hesistation couldn't be seen.

The man laughed at her. "You don't seem that bad. But it does not mean that you are allowed here. Tell us your true intentions."

She sighed and shook her head showing her disappointment. "Doesn't it look obvious to you. Of course I am here to join your parade." She said with a dead serious face.

"And how can we believe you?" Another voice called out but this time it was a girly voice. She tilted her head peeking at the back of the man, to see the source of the voice. "M-mam, why are you here?" The previous man who was acting all might and tough stuttered in front of the later. 'Who is she?' Kaida thought.

'She looks familiar. Where have I seen her?'

"You have not answered me." The girl cleared her throat. "It's simple. This group is the biggest mafia gang and has its connection all over the underground. And it's obvious for all the persons like me to join your group." Kaida said in a duh tone, stating the obvious.

"That does not answer my question and what mafia? You came to the wrong place."* The lady spoke again. Semisha knew it won't be easy to convince her but do not underestimate the mind of the journalist.

"I seek revenge. Revenge with your next target Mr.chen, as he was the one to shatter down my family business. You must remember the song family right? I am their daughter, the next heiress of their company until that brat decided to cheat my family." She lied just like that.

"And don't try to hide it. I know this is one of the Shadow's base." She said with a smirk on her face.

"Wow you even know our next target. I am impressed. You seem like you have done your homework. Now tell me if you have the brains to track our next target then why don't you kill him by yourself? Why need us? Why join our group?"

The girl pressed and like for every other questions, Kaida answered it as if she had expected every one of those questions.

"You are again making me state the obvious. All the state - scratch that whole country fears your leader named Shadow. If I kill the man, I can get caught but if I use your name no one would dare to question me. So let me join you and I will make sure to come in handy." She answered trying to look as confident as she can.

"Oh well then what if you were a spy?" The girl arched an eyebrow. Kaida chuckled. "Not to offend you but that's really a stupid question."  She said, making the girl glare at her.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean you can kill me anytime even if you suspect me a little. No one would dare to go against your organization." Kaida smirked.

The other girl bit her lower lips, giving what Kaida just said a serious thought.

"I like her. You are in!" The girl clapped her hands and walked towards Kaida while hugging the life out of her.

"But ma'am what about the boss. I m-mean would he agree?" The man stuttered. She glared at him.

"You think brother will doubt his own sister's choice? And who told you could talk while we were having the girl's chat. She is in and there is no other option. " The girl turned towards Kaida.

"Hello there, I am chanhee. Chanhee the second in command and welcome to our organization." Chanhee said with a big smile on her face.
