Hi, I’m Anha I am 16 years old. I’m a junior in high school. I live with a foster family they are bearable but treat me like a maid. Boys are always throwing themselves at the daughter of my foster parents. I always have to walk to school. You may be asking yourself “Doesn’t she get a choice to ride a bus or drive to school?” The answer to that is “No. I don’t get a choice because my foster family just finds me to be another obstacle that they have to take care of.” I am the only person I can rely on, everyone else are just untrustworthy people that I have to worry about because everybody that is mean is always looking for their next target.

I came to the library to study in peace but no my foster parents daughter is here with her friends and they always like to make fun of me. I run to hide in a room that nobody really goes to. There stairs up to the room but and I’m running I slip on the steps and fall backwards but as I’m falling it feels like someone has caught me. When I open my eyes I see in front of me a man so handsome that I just had to be dreaming. I decided to pinch myself to make sure that I was just dreaming but before I could he stopped me and said “What are you doing?” His hands felt so warm that I knew that this wasn’t a dream and all of a sudden I yelled “Where in the world am I?” The man answered “For one there is no need to yell I can hear just fine and two you are in the kingdom of Palasia. I will take you to meet the king.” I sat there stunned as we began to ride off on his horse we arrived at a place that looked like a castle. We rode up to the gate and he showed the guard a sort of rectangular shaped object that hung around his neck. We rode through the gate up to the building that looked like a castle. All of a sudden he said “Welcome to the palace of Palasia.” “Thank you.” I said. So it is a castle I thought to myself.

We entered the palace and went through a long corridor to two big doors. He opened the doors and walking in and moving his fingers telling me to follow. We walked up to a throne where a man sat. The man said “I am King Ernold. Where do you come from girl?” “I come from a small town called Austin.” I said. “I have never heard of a village called Austin. What bring you here?” He said. “I was brought here by this man I do not know why I am here.” I replied. “How could you not…” he said before the man that brought me here stopped him. The men talked to each other quietly. King Ernold came up to me and said “How is it that you fell from the sky and came to my kingdom?” “I was walking up some steps in my towns library as I was walking up the steps I fell back and then it felt as if someone had grabbed me and held me close.” I said. “You fell out of the sky and onto my horse how is that possible and what is a library?” the man said. “Hush my son this sounds like she isn’t even from our time period but after it?” King Ernold said. “First of all you are both confusing me and how do you guys not know what a library is? What time period is this anyways?” I said. “This is the year 1247 A.D.” the man said. “What?!!” I yelled. “Why? What’s wrong?” the man asked. “How can this be the year 1247 A.D. when the year is 2509 A.D.?” I said. “2509 A.D.! Are you from the future or something?” the man asked. “That appears to be so the year is a long time ago in the past. How is this even possible?” I asked. “I don’t know young lady but I know one thing for sure you are staying here with us. Now, son introduce yourself so she knows your name.” King Ernold said. “Of course father. Miss my name is Endo Prince of Palasia.” Prince Endo said. “It is nice to meet you both I am Anha from the future.” I said.

Prince Endo showed me to my room where I took a bath in my own bathroom. I put on a nice silk nightgown and went up to the bed and laid down. The bed was super comfortable it was a bed made for royalty. I finally went to sleep. Once I was asleep I started to have a dream about horses but then it suddenly turned into a nightmare on how my foster family treated me wrong. I must have been screaming in my sleep because someone burst into the room and ran up to me and shaking me to wake me up. I opened my eyes and saw Prince Endo looking down on me. He said “Are you ok? What happened?” “I am ok I just had a nightmare about my foster family.” I said. “Did something bad happen to them?” he asked. “No. It was about how they treated me like a maid, bullied me and beat me. That is probably why I was screaming.” I said. “Ok.” he said “I will stay here with you until morning.” “Ok but is that alright?” I asked. “Yeah it’s perfectly fine.” he said. I fell back asleep and when I opened my eyes in the morning he was still there sleeping with his head on the bed. I got out of bed and lifted him up onto the bed and then went and looked at the clothes in the closet. There were so many dresses of many sizes and different colors. I picked a red dress that was long and had a corset back. I went and looked outside the door for a maid and found one I asked her “Could you please help me with a corset back of a dress?” “Of course I will be right there.” she said. When she came in she looked at the bed and asked “Why is the prince in here?” I replied “I had a nightmare and he came running in to wake me up and said he would stay with me until morning. He fell asleep with his head on the side of the bed so I lifted his whole body onto the bed so he can sleep properly.” “Oh ok.” she said “I am Alina and I am assigned to you as your personal maid. Now, let’s get you into that dress before his highness wakes up.” I got into the dress and she did up the corset back. We went back into the bedroom where Prince Endo was sleeping and Alina walked up to the bed and said “Your highness it’s morning time to get up.” “Ok.” he said “I will get up.” as he started to look around the room he remembered where he was. “I almost forgot I came in here last night. How did I get up onto the bed?” he asked. “I woke up and lifted you onto the bed so you could sleep properly.” I said.”Ok.” he said “Alina you should go help in the kitchen before Arina gets mad at you again.” “Yes of course your highness.” she said. He got out of the bed and said “I will go back to my room and change I will see you downstairs at breakfast.” “Ok see you at breakfast.” I said. I walked over to a chair and sat down. I thought to myself this place is so amazing that I have never seen anything like it. This may be the past but it sure is better here than in 2509.

I went downstairs and into the dining room. A maid pulled out a chair for me and I sat down. I was seated next to Prince Endo. We looked at each other and smiled. “Good morning, Anha. How did you sleep?” King Ernold said. “Yes. I slept very well.” I replied so he wouldn’t be worried. “That’s good.” he said “Now let’s eat and see what you think of the food.” “Of course it all looks delicious. I had a strawberry tart, some blueberry pie, bread, and fruit juice of some sort. “So how is it?” Prince Endo asked. “Very good. Thank you.” I said smiling. “What would you like to do today?” King Ernold asked. “I would love to learn how to ride horseback.” I said. “Ok! That can be arranged.” he said.

In the afternoon Prince Endo took me to the stables where the horses were and a teacher was waiting. There were horses of many colors. My favorite horse was the pure white one named Diamond. “Hello miss I assume you are Anha.” The man said. “Yes I am and your name is?” I replied. “I am Arthur. It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Anha.” he said “Now what horse would you like to ride?” “I would love to ride the white horse named Diamond.” I said. “Very good choice. She is the best horse we have and she hasn’t taken a liking to anyone yet.” he said. “Oh is that so. We are going to have to change that.” I said. We went outside and Arthur started his teaching. After four hard days of learning I finally perfected riding a horse. The day after I perfected riding her I went on and ride with Prince Endo. We decided to stop by a lake and take a rest. I didn’t realize it but soon enough I had fallen asleep. When I opened my eyes the sun was going down and Prince Endo was fast asleep. I didn’t want to wake him so I lifted him up onto his horse and went and found the nearest town. I went to a hotel and booked a room with two beds and breakfast in the morning. I took the horses to the town stable where they would stay for the night. When I woke up the next morning Prince Endo was still asleep so I decided to take a bath. When I came out he was just waking up and then his wake up turned into panic until he saw me standing by the restroom. “Where are we?” he asked. “We both fell asleep by the lake and when I woke up the sun was going down and I didn’t want to wake you so I brought you here to a hotel.” I replied. “Oh ok.” he said. “Hurry up and get dressed so we can go to the dining room and get breakfast.” I said. “I will be ready in a minute.” he said. “Got it.” I replied. When he was dressed we went and had breakfast. Surprisingly the food was really good. I started to think about how I would get back to my time. I couldn’t think of anything so I just sat there as quiet as a mouse. He looked up from his plate at me and asked “What’s wrong?” “I don’t know how I will get back to my own time in the future.” I said. He replied “Oh.” and then he went silent. We went back to the room to get our things. When we got back to the room he closed the door and kissed me then said “Don’t think about going back to your own time anymore. Because I love you.” I stood there shocked as he packed up our things and then he grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the room. We left the hotel and headed for the stables. We retrieved the horses and then he said “I would like to show you something.” I said “Ok.” and then we took off and I followed behind him. We came to a lagoon where he lifted me up off of my horse and sat me down on a rock. He looked at me and asked “Will you marry me and be my queen?” I looked at him in shock. “I have been in love with you ever since I first laid my eyes on you.” he said. “Yes. Because I love you to.” I said. We went back to the castle and told his father who sounded very pleased that his son had found someone that he loved. We got married a month later. The wedding was grand. My dress was perfect. Everyone was dressed up.

Several years later when I had forgotten about the future we had two baby girls that we named Alina and Rina. The girls were very sweet. They loved going to see the horses. One day we went and got two ponies for them for their birthdays. We had a ball to celebrate their birthday with everyone in the land invited. I was out for a walk in the forest one day and I saw this out of place scenery. I walked into the out of place scenery and when I turned around the forest was gone. “Where am I?” I said allowed. “Anha?” someone said behind me. I turned around and said “Yes.” “Is it really you?” a woman asked. “Yes my name is Anha but who are you and where am I?” I replied. “Anha I am your foster mother.” she said “And you are right in front of our house.” “Wait what? But I don’t have a mom.” I said. “Don’t worry. How about we go inside and sit?” she asked. “Of course.” I said. “There is no need to be formal.” she said. “I have to be formal because I am a queen and need to make an example for my children.” I said. “Queen? What?” she said “I have grandchildren?” “What is the year right now?” I asked. “It is 2514 A.D.” she replied. “But that can’t be its 1252 A.D.” I said. “What are you talking about? You sound as if you have been in the past this whole time.” she said. At that moment everything came back to me and I hugged my foster mom and said “Yes I have been in the past this whole time and had forgotten about you. I am so very sorry. But why would you worry about me when you guys never cared before?” “How can I explain this we were taking our problems out on you for no reason and I am very sorry for that.” she said “and so that the foster home didn’t become curious about you not going back to them we adopted you completely. You are my daughter now and your sister and her friends have been punished for bullying you.” “Ok but where is my sister?” I asked. “She and her friends are picking up garbage at the beach.” she said “you can’t go in that though it looks way too nice to where that to the beach.” “I am sorry but I can’t wear anything other than fancy clothes due to my position that I must respect.” I said “I will go to the beach now. Bye.” “Good bye. See you later.” she said. “Anha.” my sister said as I walked onto the beach “Where have you been and where did you get such a nice dress?” “A tailor made it.” I said. “We are so sorry for the way we treated you.” one of her male friends said “One day you went missing and everything turned into chaos.” I started falling backwards and the look I saw in their eyes was curiosity. I hit the ground I was on grass not sand. I got up and looked around I was at the lake where Endo and I fell asleep at years ago. I started walking in the direction of the palace when a wild horse came running through and after it went Endo. He caught the horse then asked me if I was ok when he saw who I was he took me into a strong embrace. “Where have you been?” he asked. “I somehow went back to the future and came back to the past where I now belong.” I said “how are the girls?” “They are well.” he said “They love the ponies.” “You would expect them to since they are our daughters.” I said. He lifted me up onto his horse and we rode back with the wild horse. When we got there Alina and Rina ran up to us and gave us a hug. “They have been wanting to see you for a while and every time I have to promise them that I will bring you home with me.” he said “And now I have finally fulfilled my promise.” “You are such a loving father.” I said “And now all we have to do is wait for this one to be born.” “Yep.” he said “Wait! What!” “We are having another child.” I said. “Oh ok. Since when since before I returned to the future and came back.” I said. “Ok. I get the point. I am going to sit down for a little bit.” he said. The girls ran off to play and I stayed and sat down to look around me at the scenery. The birds tweeted and the little animals on the ground and in the trees scurried about. I stood up and walked inside. Nothing was better than this glorious life.
