June 1 2009, 8:08 AM a body of a 7 years old girl was found under the bridge in Tondo,Manila. The culprit is still on the loose as the police is trying to do their best to locate the killer. "Mama will you walk me home later after school?" Ana asked her mom "No, Mama have lot of things to do I'll cook for you later so do your best at your school". "But... the news" Ana told her with a worried voice " Don't worry dear Mama will protect you I'll serve justice okay?". Ana walked out with a sad look on her face. This has always been Ana's life she never had the chance to meet her dad and her mom is always busy being a police officer, though how much she excel at being the top student her mom never acknowledged it. Her life was a path of loneliness. She wished she could vanished from the world, that's what she thought

Everyday Ana walks home alone at school but this time was different, her teachers talk to her after class about her upcoming stage performance. Ana walked home late and she's scared because of what she's been hearing from the news lately, numbers of girl from 6-10 years old are being murdered. She doesn't want to walk alone but she doesn't have a choice there's no one who could accompany her along her way she have no friends or a person that she is closed with. She walked and walked in the darkness with passing by streets and streets until she stopped in an intersection as she saw a man with a blood stain on her clothes. She couldn't move, her body trembles and fell in fear. The man look at her and smiles as the broken street light above him clicks. No sound was heard and everything was in complete silence, like the world stop for Ana and the man. She closed her eyes as the light clicks, expecting for the man or the situation to be different and less scary. The man walked towards her dropping his cigarette, passed by her and said "It's a fine night isn't it? Ana". She looked back and the man was gone.

The street light continued to click, her body completely froze in fear as if someone passed by and took her soul. A voice woke her up from a distance it was her mom calling her name, she ran towards Ana and hugged her tight. "I'm sorry honey I was late there's so much that has been going on lately and our chief is giving us so much work I will make up to you okay?". Ana couldn't wipe out the sadness in her face, the face of the man was stuck in her shallow memories. She couldn't tell what happened it's like her mouth was stitched in fear and she couldn't open it. That night while quietly eating their dinner her mother's phone rang. She could see the sorry look on her mother's face and she knows that she'll be left alone again even though she doesn't want it she also can't help it.

Sitting on her bed after hours of being alone her fear grow more and more she started to fear the shadows in each corner of her room it's like every pitch of darkness will grab her. She decided to sit near the window so that if something happens a neighbor nearby or a stranger passing by could give her a help, but as she turn her head around a corner of the street she saw a man with a cigarette in his mouth and a manga on his hands. She couldn't see the man's face but as the smoke of the cigarette pass towards her windows she remembered the smell, it was like the cigarette that the man she encountered a while ago had. As she turns back to reality she saw the man staring at him she was terrified and ran towards her bed, few moments after she looked back at the window and not a single ash was left where the man is standing but there's no wind that night she trembled and loss her consciousness.

The daylight shined on her face and woke her up. Her head felt worse and she couldn't remember what exactly happened last night everything was in shadows. She didn't bothered to remember it and started to get ready to go to school. The school today ended early she was happy because she wouldn't walk alone in the dark today, while she's walking she saw a man sitting on a bridge. She thought that the man was about to commit suicide and ran towards him to try to stop it. "Don't jump mister I know how much could be terrible maybe your wife left you behind or you don't have any money but that's not a reason for you to kill yourself" she shouted. The man laughed at her and told her that he was just enjoying the beautiful view, she was so embarrassed she bowed her head down to say sorry. The man thanked her for caring and offered her to eat in a restaurant. Ana was so happy and so she agreed even though she doesn't know who that man is.

Ana was so happy to have someone with her she asked him if they could be a good friends and asked for his name, the man agreed for them to be friends and introduced himself as Theodore Marcus and said that he is selling anime figures. After eating in a restaurant Theodore walked Ana home. Ana told Theodore about her upcoming performance in her school and ask him if he could pass by because he's her very first friend, he agreed. Later that night Ana also told her mother about her upcoming performance her mother also agreed to come and Ana was so delighted.

The morning woke up, Ana woke up with smile in her face as this is the day of her performance. She was so excited and happily walk her way to school as her mother promised to follow after her duty. The time of her performance came, but no mother showed up though Theodore manage to make it he's wet and a little bit dirty. Ana is still glad that someone came for her.

After the performance Ana ran towards

Theodore and hugged him like he's her father. Ana thanked him and told him that she's disappointed that her mother didn't come. Theodore asked her if she want him to walk her home because it's a dark night. While walking the rain started to pour and little by little it pour harder so Theodore asked Ana if it's okay for her to come in his house to take some umbrella because he's house is nearby. Ana agreed but she began to be terrified as the way to his house is a forest like path. Arriving on Theodore's home Ana's fear grow larger as soon as she stepped inside the house she traveled her eyes around the house and as she passed near a table she noticed a cigarette and a familiar smell said hello to her. Theodore sits in the sofa and speaks, "It's the same cigarette that you smelled when we first meet at that street while I was soaked in blood and the same cigarette that you smelled when you saw me reading that manga while I was observing you that night" he stood up and walked towards her, kneeled and whispered " It's a fine night isn't it Ana?"
