So lets start from the beginning.

Thomas Lawrence was coming home from school when he heard a sound. It was like someone was growling at him. He decided to go have a look and see what it was and to his amazement it was someone there. When he asked if the person needed help, the black figure turned around and it had glowing blue eyes and it charged at him, the both of them were knocked onto the ground. Thomas didn't know what to do they were "fighting" each other then the man bite Thomas on the hand, but Thomas managed to push him and run away in fear and never looked back. Thomas got home and he wasn't feeling to good and he passed out. Thomas woke up 4 months later, the bite on his hand was gone, he was scared he wanted to know how it just disappeared m, but he decided to push that a side and go look for his mom and brother. He left out of his room and screamed for his mom and when she didn't hear he screamed for his brother, no one answered. Then he saw blood on the floor and he followed the trail to outside, but when he got outside the blood trail ended and no one was around. The town was quiet, but in the distance you could hear a growl. Thomas remembered the growl he heard before, but he didn’t care about that right now. He was trying to find his family that was the only thing on his mind. He started to freak out and he screamed hoping someone would hear his cries of help, but no one appeared. He decided not to look around and he went back inside because he thought some one would come and save him. After a month he started to run out of food so he decided to go to the grocery store, he was walking, but there was on one in plain sight. He made it to the grocery store and it had chains on it. He find something to hit the chain, but before he could he was knocked on the head and he passed out. He woke up to people surrounding him and he was freaking out he didn't know what to do.

"What were you thinking of opening that door." Said one lady?"

"What do you mean? I was about to open it because I was running out of food to eat.”

"Do you know what's in there." Said the lady again

"Food."

"He's a funny one." Said the old man

"What do you mean? What's in there?" Said Thomas

"You don't know." Said a little boy

"Know what."

"First let's start off introducing ourselves. Hello, young man what's your name." Said the old man

"Thomas Lawrence."

"Oh my, nice to meet you boy.” Said old man

“Like wise.” Said Thomas

“Kara, go to the grocery store and paint on the door no food, but zombies are inside.” Said old man

“Yes, sir.” Said Kara

“Boy come with me.”

Thomas got up and he followed the old man.

"Well boy there are 100+ of us in this camp here and I will introduce you to everyone and then I will tell you what happened here first I need you to calm down and breathe and my name is Jeff, I am the chief here."

"So here we have the doctor office and inside is the workers. There are 14 of them. 5 doctors named Peter, Will, Betty, Kathy and James. And the rest are nurses and they are Charity, Catherine, another Peter, Rick, Shun, Ray, Jessie, Mia and Jenasia. Here we have a food house and there are 50 workers who walk here their names you can learn later. We have guards at the entrances, the back and on top of the fences. That over there is our solar panel station and there are workers there. We have a team for the garden for food and that over there is our house division. We take turns for each job besides the doctor offices, but if you want to learn they can train you over in the doctor's office. So that's all for here, What do you want to know?" Said the chief

Thomas looked at him like he was crazy because he know what he wanted to know.

"Oh yeah, so it started on May 4 a outbreak happened that caused major confusion. It was on the news that people was eating each other. And then they started to call it the Zombie apocalypse, then the news started to say it was the governments fault and that they were the reasons that this happened and they were about the reveal the truth when the news station was attacked by the zombies. We put all the zombies into the grocery store and we made these place right here. See we only have 5,000 people in our town so it was pretty ok to deal with them we have decided to burn the grocery store to the ground so they would bite no one else." Said the chief

"So you're telling me that people are going around and eating each other."

"Son their not people anymore their monsters and they must be destroyed no matter what."

Thomas understand that day what had happened, but he doesn't know why he didn't turn into a zombie.

"Ok."

"Son, I want you to meet some people."

They walked into the housing division and walked up to a red house and knocked on the door. The door opened.

"MOM."

"THOMAS, omg you're ok."

"I told you he was alive and you didn't believe me." Said the mom who name is Renee

"Ma'am you know I couldn't believe you it has been 5 months since these has happened and I could just believe he was still alive, as you know not all zombies are required for."

"I know but still it doesn't matter he's here now that's all that matters."

They walked into the house and he saw his brother Mane and he ran up to him and hugged him. That night they had dinner and Thomas told his mom what happened but not the full story.

"Where have you been this whole time?"

"The house."

"You didn't come looking for people."

"No I thought that it was no dangerous and decided to stay back and hope someone would come to find me."

"Well I'm glad you weren't hurt, but you didn't see the news son."

"No I didn't I was knocked out for 4 months."

"What?"

"Yeah I was coming down the stairs and I fell down and when I came to, I saw blood on the floor and thought something bad happened. I was going to go look for you but something told me not to and just wait."

"Ok well I'm glad to have you back my boy."

That night he went to sleep and woke up to a bell. Everyone came outside and the chief told all the newbies to come to the front. They had to take a course to see what their jobs would be. The course lasted 2 weeks and Thomas had became a gather. A gather is someone who goes out into the zombie apocalypse and collect supplies the community needs. Before Thomas could go out he had to learn the things of a gather like how to navigate, shoot guns and arrows and things like that. 4 months had passed and his first gather was coming they had to go to the next town over because the supplies they had was almost gone.

^The day before the gathering left.^

"Are you really newbies, this is your first gathering and you have to be careful. Do not let the zombie bite you and remember shot to the head means death, when around zombies do not make a sound because what." Said Kara she was the person in charge of us gathers

"Because the zombies can hear us,but no smell or see us." Said the newbie gathers

"So before we go into battle let's have a FEAST." Said Kara

"YEAHHHHH!" Said everyone

The night was over then came the morning and it was time to go.

"Bye ma." Said Thomas

"Be safe and come back to me."

"I will."

They opened the gate and they were on their way. They made it passed the town hall until they saw a group of zombies it was like 40 of them, they were quiet going around them until someone stepped on plastic. They zombies started to come towards them. Thomas was confused because the zombie they came up to him was fast and these zombies were slow. The bow and arrow team started to fire and the others ran. We made it outside of town and we waited on the rest.

"Matthew, do you think their ok." Matthew was Kara second in commend said one of the boys

"Yes, they will they have the leader with them." Said Matthew

30 minutes later they caught up with the rest of them everyone was a counted for.

"Let's go." Said Kara

They made it to the next town and it was quiet to quiet, but we thought nothing of it. We went to there grocery stores and hospitals and there were zombies but not a lot of them. They were on there way out until they heard screams and they ran towards it and saw zombies a lot of them and people.

"Bow and arrow team now." Said Kara

The started shooting at the zombies and they zombies fell down and turned to dust. And they  ran out of arrows.

"Sword team come in." Said Kara

Thomas was a part of this team and they killed all the zombies.

"Where did that sound come from?" Said a boy

"I don't know" Said Kara

Then a women came out of a door and she told them to come in, but they didn't trust them and they stand there looking at her.

"We have people inside and some are injured we just need your help."

"Stay our until I tell you to come inside." Said Kara

"Yes, Ma'am" everyone said

She walked inside and  looked around.

"So how many are here 89." Said the women

"Ok, And how many are injured."

"29, ma'am"

"Were any bitten or got blood in their mouth or in a wound."

"Yeah."

"How many of the injured did?"

"Well not just the injured, but the ones who did that are injured is 15, but the ones who aren't and is infected are 34."

"That many and you allowed them to come inside."

"Will it takes 2 days for them to turn and we allow them to see their family before we kill them."

"Ok that means 49 are infected."

"Yes you are correct."

"Do you want to come with us we have a safe place."

"No where's safe, darling." Old lady said in the corner

"Safer then in here."

"Yes, I do, but I have to give the families the rest of their time together."

"How much time is left."

"22 minutes."

"Ok we can wait but is there anyone one who had been bitten in a place that they don't need."

"Why?"

"Because if they don't have blue eyes yet and if it is in a place that can be cut off then they might survive."

"What for real?"

"Yea, how many?"

"7."

"Let me see them."

"Ok."

"We have 6 of them, but one mother wouldn't let her son go."

"Ok, I will go see."

"Where is she?"

"I will take you to her."

"Ok."

They walked to the back of the room where the infected was and Kara saw the mother holding here child and crying.

"Ma'am, my name is Kara and I need to see your child in order to save him."

"How can you save him, but can't save the ones who have been infected, but not by a bite." Said the women

"Ma'am the situation is different."

"How?"

"With a person who has been infected by blood getting into there system we can't cut the infection out of them because it has transferred into the bloodstream, but with a bite it focus on the skin around it first and then it starts to eat the bloodstream instead of going into the bloodstream. The bite will start to eat the body and when it gets to the heart or brain its to late. And now you have a choice to save your son,but you are being fucking selfish and allowing him to die because of your stupidity."

"Ok, but how do you know it will work."

"I don't but at least you have a choice."

"Ok."

"Thank you."

Kara takes him outside with the rest. Everyone has already been done now it's his turn. The 22 minutes were up and the people were killed. The rest got there stuff together to head out to there next home. They made it back 3 days later.

"So there are the people you were telling me about."

"Yeah."

"Hello, I'm Jeff the chief around here nice to meet you all."

"What did you mean she told you about us how?"

"Oh walker talkie."

"And you must be their leader young lady."

"Yes and my name is Andy."

"Well, Andy come with me and let's have a little chat. Kara and get someone to talk them to there housing we will show them about when they are well rested up."

"Yes,sir."

"Come on, girls this here is Jake and Mike. They will be showing you to your housing for today."

"Thank y'all sooo much." One lady said

"No problem we just like to help people."

Jake and mike started to show them to there housing and the gather who was on the job want to put things away and take the 7 people into the doctors office. Thomas finally made it home at night.

"You're back."

"I told you I would be. Where's Mane."

"Sleep, are you hungry."

"No, I already ate."

"Ok, are you going to bed."

"Not yet, but in a little while I will."

"Ok, but don't stay up to late."

"I won't."

"Good night love you."

"Good night and love you too."

Thomas sat on the couch and stared at his hand wondering why didn't he turn and why did the mark of the bite just disappear. He was scared of what could happen and he was scared of himself because he didn't know what he would do. He started to cry and he decided to go outside and take a walk. There he saw Kara and he walked up to her.

"Hey." Said Thomas

"What are you still doing up?" Said Kara

"Can't sleep. How 'bout you?"

"Same."

"Kara if I tell you something you promise not to freak out."

"Yea."

"I was bitten."

"WHAT? WHERE?"

"It was 9 months ago and I think I was the very first person to get bite."

"What? How are you not a zombie?"

"I don't know."

"Do you think it's a cure?"

"I don't think so."

"What do you mean?"

"I feel like it's a fire in my body and it needs to be put out right now."

"Are you saying you want to go around eating humans."

"No, it's the opposite."

"Zombies."

"Yea."

"But that doesn't make sense."

"I know, but sometimes it's like I can hear someone talking to me."

"What are they saying to me."

"At first I couldn't hear them, but later on I could hear them saying kill yourself."

"When did you start to hear the voice?."

"3 months ago."

"Do you recognize the voice."

"No"

"Ok, so what happens if you kill yourself?"

"I don't know and I'm afraid to find out."

"Ok, for now I want you to go inside and sleep and we will talk more about this tomorrow."

Ok, but you won't tell no one right.

"Yes I won't."

Thomas walked back to the house, he felt like something was lifted from his chest from talking someone he trusted. Thomas got into bed and he fell a sleep.

Thomas wakes up.

"Thomas are you awake." Said his mom

"Yes."

"Come down stairs." Said his mom

Thomas walked down the stairs.

"Kara wants to talk with you." Said his mom

"Ok where is she?"

"Outside." Said his mom

Thomas opens the door and he sees Kara.

"You want to talk to me."

"Yeah follow me."

"Where we going ."

"To the diner.”

"Ok."

They walked into the dinner, sat down and the waitress took their order.

"So Thomas the thing we talked about last night.”

"Yea."

"I told someone."

"What?"Said in scream/whisper

"Don't worry I trust this person and he is a scientist."

"I don't care what he is or if you trust him. I told you not to tell anyone."

"I'm sorry, but I needed someone to know in order to help you."

"I don't need help. I just needed someone to tell who I trusted, but I guess I can't trust you."

"I'm sorry, ok, but he wants to meet you."

"Ok, but this is the only time and if something happens to me. I want you to know that it's all your fault."

The both of them are walking side by side until they got to the doctors/scientists house. Kara stepped in front of Thomas and knocked on the door of the doctors. He opened the door and he welcomed them inside.

"Do y'all want something to drink or eat?”

"No, we're good." Said Kara

"So, What do you want from me.” Said Thomas

"I want to see the place the zombie bit you, to take a sample of your blood and to test your physical.”

“Physical?”

“Physical like your strength or eye sight to see if anything has changed.”

“Oh ok, I will let you, but at one condition."

"What is it."

"I will give you my blood every time I come over, but you do not get to keep it with you when I leave. When you have found everything you need I will destroy the blood sample. We will not have anything to do with one another ever again, do you understand me.

"Yes."

"Ok let's begin shall we."

"Yeah, come with me down to my basement."

"What is down there?"

"My laboratory."

"Also, Kara can not come with us."

Said Thomas

"Ok, but why?"

"Cause."

Kara looked at Thomas with a sorry face, but a bitch please face. Then the doctor and Thomas walked down the stairs into the basement.

"Sir, I never asked you your name."

"Oh, it's Peter."

"Oh."

"Shall we get started then."

"No, I want to to ask you a question that I couldn't ask around Kara."

"Do I know you."

"Yeah you probably seen me on tv, I'm in the top 15 best scientists in the America."

"You know what I mean."

"Will since it's the end of the world, I should gone head and tell you, first in order to get the story I have to tell you the background. So in 2000, the government decided to take part in an experiment that was happening all around the world. At the time I didn't know what the experiment was, but I did know it involves people. We  were told not to ask questions in more of the work we were given. We were told that we were working on a cure that could stop people from getting diseases from things like the air or from slaver. I was in charge of one of the chemicals that was used in order to make the cure. I had to mix and make the chemical in order for it to be sent to the next lab. The scientists that were chosen were not allowed to look at the official cure, we were just in charge of one thing, then other people would put it together. One day I was allowed access to the other wing that puts the cure together and when I was there I look at the official cure in a microscope and it wasn't a cure at all. It was something that I have never seen before in my life and I know that these would cause devastation to the world. I planned to tell the world about what I saw, but I know no one would believe so I needed proof. Later that day I was still in the wing, they had chosen me to know the secret and I was wheeling to listen. The only thing they told me the first day was that they were experimenting on kids in order for the kids to grow up with the "cure" inside them. Three months after that I was still not told anything because they didn't trust me yet and doing that time I planned to take a child to a powerful man who said he could help me achieve exposing the government. The kid I decided to take was you, Thomas. I made it out of the lab with you hiding in my backpack and you didn't make a sound at all. Will it turns out I played right into their hands because they knew what I was planning and when I made it to the man. I was captured and disposed of."

"Disposed of meaning."

"They shot me in the head, but I survived, I don't know how or why but when I can to I was by myself and you were gone. I decided to go into hiding because they thought I was dead and five months after that the zombie breakout occurred."

"So what did they do to me."

"I don't know."

"Wait you said kids meaning there were more."

"Yeah."

"How many."

"6."

"So that means that there are more of them out there like me."

"I don't know because I was told that not every baby survived the experiment, they just wanted 6 babies able to possess whatever you possess."

"So you're talking me you want to use me a a lab rat in order to figure out what's wrong with me."

"Yeah if you don't mind."

"I want to believe you, but at the same time I don't. *But as he said that a voice in is head the same voice came about and told him to trust Peter.* I will give you my blood and some of the physical tests you want me to take

"Why did you change your mind?"

"I just did now be happy and stop asking questions."

Peter took Thomas blood sample and took some physical test, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary and then Peter asked to see Thomas hand where he was bitten. Nothing was there and Peter put it up close to a magnifying glass and he still found no trace of the bit.

"Thomas for all I can tell you are still human in every was, but I want you to come back tomorrow in case I found something new come around 5 pm and bring Kara with you."

"Why do I have to bring her."

"Peter you might be mad that she told me, but she is the second person you can trust with your life. I want you to bring her and that final."

"Okay Mr. bossy pants."

"Now go home with your family."

Peter came home and ate dinner with his family.

"So where did you and Kara go."

"We just want out that's all nothing special really."

"If you say so."

"Mom we're nit dating ok."

"If you say so."

"You play to much you know that."

"If you say so."

"Stop I'm done with you, so Mane how as your day been.”

“It’s been good I got a girlfriend.”

“Since when.”

“Since yesterday.”

“Did you know about this mom.”

“Yep and guess who it is?”

“Who?”

“Sara.”

“You mean the girl who lived in front of us.”

“Yep.”

“Bro, how did you get her?”

“I don’t know I just did.”

Thomas and his family ate and had a lot of fun that night. Thomas went to bed and he woke up at 6:30 in the morning. He was up before his family was so he decided to take a little walk and guess who he saw, Kara. He walked up to her.

“So hey.”

“Hey I just want to say I’m sorry that I told Peter.”

“No it’s fine I know that I can trust him now and he told me a lot of new information. I just want to ask you do you want to come to his lab with me today.”

“So does that mean you trust me again.”

“A little, but I just need you to come with me and later on I can see if I can trust you.”

“Okay I’ll take that.”

“So what you doing up so early.” Said Kara

“I couldn’t sleep so I just decided to take a walk.”

“Me too.”

They talked for a while and then they walked back to there own house. When Thomas got back his mom was awake making breakfast and he told her that could she walk him up at 4:00 pm and she said yea. That time came and his mom woke him up.

“So where do you have to go.”

“With kara.”

“Are y’all dating.”

“No mom she’s my leader.”

“Just asking because y’all spend a lot of time together.”

“Mom that’s because she my leader my boss. So have have to follow orders when she tells me to help with things.”

“Ok if you say so, but are you hungry.”

“No I’m fine. *kiss his mom on the cheek.* Talk to you later.”

“Love you.”

“Love you too.”

“What time you going to be home.”

“Late.”

“How late.”

“Really late.”

“Bye bye.”

“Byeeee.”

Thomas mets Kara close to Peter’s lab and they walk in together.

“Finally you two are here I have something to tell you both.”

“Dr. Peter have you been to sleep at all.” Said Kara

“No I had to stay up in case I found something new and I did.”

“So what is it.” Said Thomas

“Thomas your cells and everything in your body is the same as a humans except for one thing. There is a cell in your body that could change everything literally. If that cell that is different activates that one cell would spread to the other cells, but in this case it would not spread it would destroy those cells and make cells that are like the one that is different.”

“Let me guess in order to activate the cell I have to die.”

“Bingo.”

“So what happens if I die.”

“That’s it I don’t know. When something like this happens you can sometimes tell what is going on, but in your case everything is unpredictable.”

“So basically if I die I might turn into a zombie or I might be something that is different the. a zombie.”

“I would think so.” Said Peter

“So you talking me that he is in danger.” Said Kara

“Yes because if he gets hurt and dies it could be very bad for humanity will what’s left of us.”

“Thomas as of now you are off gatherer duty.”

“What? No.”

“Yes I am your leader the one in command and I command you to stand done.”

“Yes, ma’am, so what do I do now.”

“We will found you something, something that doesn’t require you to get hurt.”

“Like what?”

“Working at the grocery store.”

“What? No.”

“Yes let’s go now and thank you Peter for telling us.”

“No problem.”

“Now go get some rest.”

“I can’t unless I found something else that can be useful.”

“Really Peter.”

“Yes now you go.”

“Okay bye.”

“Bye.”

Thomas and Kara walked to the grocery store and Thomas was able to get a place and his work would began tomorrow. Walking back Kara and Thomas begins to have a deep conversation about the things that Thomas is going though.

“Thomas it’s going to be ok everything will work out.”

“How do you know that Kara because I’m literally a walking time bomb. I’m going crazy the voice in my head is getting louder and louder every single day and it has gotten to the point where I just wan to scream and not stop.”

“Why didn’t you tell me.”

“How could I, you were trying to help me how could I tell you that I was getting worse instead of better.” He said this while crying.

“It doesn’t matter if I was trying to help you if you don’t tell me something like this. In order for me to help you I have to know everything ok.”

“Ok I will I’m sorry.” Said while crying

“No don’t cry it’s not your fault it’s mine for not asking and you don’t have to apologize to me I should be the one apologizing. I’m sorry Thomas it’s ok.” Said while crying

Kara and Thomas just sat there and cried the whole night and Thomas ended up falling asleep, so Kara had to carry him home. The next morning Thomas walks up hungry and eyes swoll.
