War isn’t a fun place to be in, it’s just an incident that leaving a deep wound and grief to other people’ heart around it. This conflict mostly be inclined to the upper class, they only care to fulfill their own ambition and greediness.

But did you know? Who is suffering the most from war? It is the innocent who suffer. Many children who become orphans, many wives had to say goodbye to their beloved husbands, and many others who missed their friends, family member, and loved ones.

Many methods was used in war as example manipulative propaganda that often used to turn many people to a blind rage and in order to sacrifice their soul and body only for the state’s interest.

But not most of them become heroes like in film or storybook, many of them who misguided from the right path made cruel decisions in order to survive at this cruel time. And for some who had misfortune, they just give up to whatever life thrown at them.

Year 1945 when unstable kingdom named Silesia faced a massive civil war, the war break out after conflict from The Great War. Many people were needed of help such as shelter, foods, clothes, and medicines, but at that time the current king was killed in the battlefield caused a power vacuum and royal members were too distracted to fulfilling their own coffer and competing for the throne of Silesia.

Corruption and monopoly they made, caused the price’s market around the kingdom was skyrocketing. This sudden change made Silesian people restless and decided to protest in front of the royal palace, but were responded with gunfire by the government that caused many innocent people shot to death.

From a peaceful protest into riot then caused bloody civil war. Many enemies inside the kingdom used this opportunity neither for claim the throne nor to expand their own territory.

The rebel army was called “For the People Army” lead by former general of the kingdom named Sir Crusty, with the support from his followers. He able to make a foothold in city named Surakarta, the imperial soldiers had a tough time breaking the siege.

In the middle of the chaos, sounds of gun and artillery suddenly appeared in midnight and chaos were everywhere🔥🔥🔥

“C’mon after we crossed that bridge we will be save” Abu said while carrying his little sister tightly

“Big brother…. Mommy…., where are we going?” Iskhra said with worried face

“Don’t worry sweetie everything will be fine after we crossed that bridge” calmly said by Aisyah while holding Iskhra’s hands fondly

Then in the middle of the bridge a bomb was exploded, separating Abu and Iskhra with Aisyah.

“Mom!! Are you okay?!” Abu shout

After sometime there are movements from pile of chunks near the broken bridge.

“Uhuk... uhuk… I am okay dear. I will meet up with you from the other side. You already be grown up son, promise to me that you will keep Iskhra save whatever the cost for our sake!” Aisyah said

“It’s a promise, just make sure you safe mommy” Abu said with a sad face

"I'll... be safe." Aisyah said

Then Aisyah answered it with a smile and rushed to the other side of the bridge, while Abu desperate to found a shelter. Many neighbor rejected him to stay caused they didn’t had the resources to fed another person, But luckily Abu found an abandoned long house and decided to take cover there.

The abandoned house consist of 3 floors: the third floor/ upper floor was empty wide room, the second floor there were kitchen, bedroom, and small living room, and the first floor was the basement.

“Well it’s maybe neglected, but at least it will do for now” Abu said

Iskhra started to regain consciousness from her fainting then she asked his brother

“Big brother where are we?” Iskhra said

“This will be our new home sweetie” Abu said with a smile

“Then where is mommy, brother? Then… when can I go back to school so I can play with my friends again?” Iskhra said it while crying and hugging his big brother tightly

“It’s okay Iskhra, before we got separated mommy said that she will be found another way to meet up with us. And for school, you can meet your friends after the bad guys not fighting anymore” Abu said while stroking his lil sis’s cheek

“After the bad guys no longer fighting anymore?” Iskhra said

“Yup, after this we will go to vacation together just 3 of us” Abu said with a genuine happy face

“Yay.., ok big brother after this all over. We go to beach together with mommy. Promise big bro?” Iskhra said

“Big brother promise, but right now be a good girl okay” Abu said

“I will do my best brother!” Iskhra said cheerfully

On the 1st day, Abu was busy all day long clearing out many debris and gathering any useful material around the house such as building materials, woods, some foods (raw food, vegetable, and food ration), some electrical component, little bandages, herbal and advanced medicine, and a diamond (maybe useful for trading?).

While Iskhra helped her brother collecting stuff which were useful like herbs, 3 lock picks, some weapon parts, and components, then spent the rest of the day playing and drawing the wall in the third floor.

After gathered and organized many materials, Abu went to the basement for constructing a makeshift workshop. Abu was very pleased to found a calendar and a map of the Morandi city (border of Surakarta and city capital Silesia), it’s quite handy for the future to come. Before late afternoon, Abu worked hard to build a metal workshop for crafting shovel, crowbar, knife and a makeshift bed for his little sister and himself to sleep.

The task thought was quite challenging for Abu but he can handle it, the mechanical skill he learned from vocational high school had been proven to be much needed in this situation. Luckily electricity in their home was still active so they can use it for lighting, refrigerator, and other electrical furniture for the future.
