I got summer vacations so my parents decided to visit farm house which is in woods somewhere, they haven't visited since I was born.

This time Dad told me that he wants to show me the farm house because its into some mysterious place and he knows I am so much interested in creepy stuff.

We went to the farm house by Car, as woods started dad started narrating stories about it and many other things.

He told me about a well which is a little distance away from our farm house. Its haunted by a girl's soul who got stuck into it while hiding in it for playing hide n seek with her friends but no one came to seek her because nobody knew she's there. Her parents assumed that she got lost somewhere into the woods or some animal ate her but later after the death of her parents everyone got to know she's haunting the well.

Many priest tried but nobody could get her body out of it as the soul was now a demonic soul who just pulls everyone in whoever tries to interfere.

Its said that till now the soul haunts the well. If someone goes near the well and shouts 'Found you' in it, she starts playing hide and seek with that person. As you said found you that means now it's your turn to hide. She counts to ten and comes to get you, if you'll hide at a place she couldn't find you'll win and she'll be destroyed but if she gets you, you lose then she takes your soul as a reward for winning with her into the well. Till now nobody won and many souls are trapped in that well.

It ran chills down my spine but at the same time curiosity in my mind to see if it happens or not.

We reached farm house its nothing more than a spider webbed wooden house with inches of dust, sounds creepy to you and a little gross but interesting to me, while mom is busy in cleaning I went out to see the place. Actually I went out to find the well , I know I am sneaky, hehe.

I like the place, its full of woods, tall trees all around, I can also hear bird chirping sweetly but after a distance place turning darker and that sweet chirping changed into creepy voice of crows and owls.

As I was walking further the atmosphere changed to weird and cold, I felt as if the trees and animals are staring at me behind my back but when I shook my head around everything's normal. Normal is a wrong word here its back to silent and scary.

I can see the well, excitement took over my body and i ran towards it. I placed my hand on the edges and suddenly i started cold sweating. I looked inside and it was too dark can't see anything that's makes it more scary. I backed off and dropped the idea of testing if its haunted. I am not scared actually I thought of being obedient, Dad told me not to so I turned to go home.

I heard someone whispering,

"I am here, find me if you can", a voice said.

I felt curious and turned back, felt like its coming from the well.

I gulped the saliva in my mouth and tried to ran but my limbs felt frozen I couldn't move, again that sound came this time I can hear it clearly as if she's challenging me. This pissed me off and I aggressively walked towards the well and screamed,

"Found you!"

No echo came back but someone chuckled from the well, and that reminds me of what have I done.

I turned back to leave but hearing sound of water I stopped to see.

I saw a hand coming out of the well.

My eyes almost popped out, I stumbled and ran back towards the farm house without stopping or looking back.

I directly ran inside and sat on the couch where mom was fixing table. Seeing me breathlessly she asked where I was but I didn't told her I was near well, I just said I was around the house and had a run.

Nothing happened till an hour passed I was on the couch looking at my phone suddenly i felt atmosphere of the room turned cold, I shrugged back in fear and suddenly I felt someone whispering in my ear,

"Uno".

I jumped in fear and went out of the house where mom and Dad were sitting.

Again when an hour passed I felt the same temperature and a whisper in my ear,

"Dos".

This time I was so freaked so I told everything to mom and dad, they quickly grabbed all the things, pushed me inside the car and we left without telling me a word. On asking what is happening they said,

"She started the counting, uno and dos means one and two in Spanish, you have to hide that's why we are taking you to the church but there is no church at the distance of 10 to 12 km. As every hour will pass she'll count the next number and we have to reach church before she counts to 10".

I silently leaned back on the seat in fear folding both my arms around myself, closing eyes and praying to God to save us.

Suddenly I heard a thud, something striked my head and I fainted.

After a while when I opened my eyes everything was blur, I rubbed my eyes and saw that Mom and Dad both were on the seats, their heads were bleeding so was mine. I opened the door and jumped out of the car to see what have happened. The car was bumped into a tree. As I looked around all I could see was fog all over the place, I could see a blury road. Meanwhile the atmosphere changed and I heard a whisper,

"Ocho".

I was sure its some number in Spanish between 1 to 10 but didn't knew what so I tried to check on Google but it showed no network. I was so scared plus pissed of by the fact that she'll will be here anytime and I can't do anything. I turned to the road and screamed,

"Oh God Help me at least tell me how much time I am left with to hide".

Time, what's the time right now?

I checked my phone and it was 4:02pm already, it was around 10 when we left. As per that she was on eight.

“Damn I have two more hours only to run to the church”, I said to myself.

I tried to bring back mom dad's consciousness but they didn't woke up. So I stood on the road facing towards the way we were heading and started running. There was fog all over the place but I just knew I have to run straight and I'll be on the road which will lead me to church. That's the only place she can't find me because its a demonic soul, she can't enter the church.

I covered some distance and stumbled on the road, the fog started growing deeper turning the atmosphere cold. As i fell on the ground my knees and elbows got bruised and my head started hammering because of the accident, everything started blurring and I felt like giving up. Suddenly I heard a chuckle. It was her, she was celebrating her victory I know.

“But not so soon demon, there is still energy left in me to smash you”, I shouted.

I stood up from the ground again, and started running after some distance I slow down my speed but didn't stop, I was shaking and I hear another whisper,

“Nueve”

I know its a number, and possibly its Nine, one more hour to go.

I continued running, not even for a minute I sat down and now my belly is aching but can't stop. I kept walking and the fog was now vanishing, it assured me a positive sign that means church is near somewhere. The direction I could see less fog I ran in that direction. Finally I could see the church, I ran towards it but before I could reach a whisper chuckled,

“Diez, I am coming”

My limbs froze with fear and i started breathing heavily, I couldn't move, she was here now. As I could hear someone walking on dried leaves behind my back I turned,

I freaked out and grabbed the cross locket around my neck. My legs felt free, I turned to church and ran inside. She screamed from the back but I didn't looked behind and closed the door of the church.

Silent filled the place, suddenly she banged with all the force on the church door and I fell on the floor but the door didn't open and I heard some loud screams, like many children's were in pain. It stopped after the loudest scream that made me cover my ears.

As I felt good vibe, I peeked from a creak of the door and could see no fog but a bright beautiful forest in front of me, fresh air filled my lungs as I breathed. Now I know how it feels like after the Goodness defeats the Darkness. As the saying goes “No matter how bad is the demon always there is a God to defeat him”

It was the scariest but adventurous ‘Hide ‘n’ Seek of my life.
