I was running as fast as I could, if those people catch me I

will be doomed to death.

I could hear them cursing at me but I was not willing to

give up even though I was feeling tired, it all happened because of my friend

called Alvina. We both were just having fun at the bar nearby beach at night.

Some boys started to tease both of us, I was trying to ignore

them but my friend splashed a glass of wine to one of their boy. They got

pissed off and situation was becoming very worse, then we started to run from

the place but they chased us and we both got separated our ways but

unfortunately they continued to come after me and I lost my way and ran towards

the top of hill.

I reached at the end point of the hill, they were no place

to go ahead if I move one step forward I could fall into ocean, when I turned

back to move those people were standing in front of me.

I wish it could have been a nightmare but it was not.

they were coming near to me I just slipped my foot and fall

into water. The wind is so strong that waves were pulling me to deeper the

ocean. Now I feel why I couldn’t learn any swimming skills at least I could

have done something.

I was drowning into the ocean I couldn’t breathe or move

myself, I just gave up at my unskilled swimming.

I was feeling dizziness and I couldn’t even open my eyes

properly, it was all blurry.

Am I really going to die, I really don’t want to die so early,

I still want to prove to my ex-boyfriend that I’m best and he should feel regret

to cheat on me.

I was almost closing my eyes, they was a something coming

near to me, is it a man no I think fish It was all blurry couldn’t even see

what it is.

 I lost my consciousness.

When I opened my eyes, it was already a day, I was lying at

the sea shore. I thought I was already dead but no I was alive. Slowly I gained

my strength and got up.

 I found they was

something in my right hand, when I saw, it was nothing but a small white pearl,

shining like a bright sun during sun rise.

I don’t know how it came to me, I tried to remember

everything until I drowned into ocean later it was all blurry images was

popping out in my mind all I could remember is a something was coming near to

me, I thought it might be some sea animal and ignored it.

First let me feel happy because I was alive after a world war,

took that pearl with me all though it is not mine but I liked it because of its

shining appear.

I left the place, it was a very far from my hotel room somehow

I reached my room and started to knock at the door, I was surprised because my

friend was safe in room while I was drowning into water thanks to her.

She hugged me and said Are you okay I searched for you

entire night but I couldn’t find you so I came back to room to check whether

you came back thank god nothing has happened to you. Although she is brave at

some situation but really very soft hearted girl.

I told I was okay and I feel relieved you are also okay and its

not safe here let’s go back to the city.

We both left the city…

The girl was saved by the Merman who is the King of ocean called David. He is very handsome and kind boy. He knows the existing of human on earth but during his childhood he was told by his ancestors that humans are monsters who kills sea creatures so only they hide their existence to humans. This fear held in bottom of his heart so he didn’t dare to come out of water.

But after a few years who would have known that he fell in love with human girl other than his own genre having beautiful mermaids. But this feeling was not realised by merman yet he remembers the girl face and thinking about the girl.

He saved her and carried her to the sea shore and with care he made her to lie and waited till she gains her consciousness, while turning back he saw the Ellina (girl) face but he wouldn’t dare to wake her up as he doesn’t want her to know about his identity so he left with some kind of sad feeling.

The next day when he was just thinking about the girl whether has she woken up or not, is she safe or not, his friend came to him.

Hey where is your necklace? asked by his friend.

(necklace is the pearl with a thread tied on his neck since from child, it was the memory of his mother who passed away while giving birth to him)

When he found out that it has been missing he searched everywhere but he couldn’t find it.

You have been searching it whole day may be it’s with the girl you were speaking about morning.

He then recalled, may be it will be with her I’ll go find her.

What are you saying? How can you go to land no I won’t let you if anything happens to you, what can I tell to others?

Edward (his friend who is also merman), listen to me you know, you are not only my slave but also my only friend and family. please you do know that pearl is very precious to me said by David to his friend.

I think she is very good may be she won’t do any harm to me, she looks so innocent when I was carrying her I felt she was sleeping like a baby.

But Edward how can you come with me, you know that once I go to land my body will change into human form but others can’t do it in our community so only choice left is I should go alone.

Oh, yes I forgot about that, once when you were 5 years old, we were playing and you went to land and after a few moments you got legs as a human but none of us couldn’t change.

Yes, my grandmother told me that my mother has ability to change into human form because of her power not only she but all my ancestors and I’m her only child so I got this power.

So let me go to land and get back my pearl and they both agreed during night.

Once David went to land his tails disappeared he changed into normal form as humans and slowly he started to walk and he found out some strange things that all humans were wearing clothes and he was being *****.

Gosh, what are they wearing if I go like this they think I’m abnormal what I should I do now?

He saw the clothes floating nearby sea shore, he sneakily peeked if there is any people grabbed the clothes and he was not even knowing how to wear them he just put the pant and went to market.

He was feeling bit scared as it was his first time seeing those strange things he completely immersed to see the shopping street and dead fishes were sold at the hotels, just wandering around the area and forgot about the pearl and the girl.

Hey handsome, are you alone? Are you searching for someone asked by the stranger girl.

He just gave cold look to her and turned his back and left.

I searched the girl everywhere but she is not here (in reality all his eyes were on shopping street).

He returned to ocean took that clothes with him to his home.

Edward was waiting for him.

Hey, did you get the pearl, thank god you came back what took you so long?

I didn’t find it, the humans are so different from us and it was not like what our ancestors described about them.

They are wearing something and their languages, I couldn’t understand anything and one girl spoke to me I didn’t understand and left the place.

The land is so big and confusing it’s not like our ocean looks like I should search her again tomorrow.

What again?

Yes, till I find the little girl and get my pearl from her.

David looking at night sky, closed his eyes and telling to himself -Where are you on this earth? Why are you hiding from me? Can’t you come back once again, I want to see you little girl.

On other side, Ellina went back to her city and got into her normal daily routine.

At night even she is staring at the beautiful sky and crescent moon, thinking about the incident.

she took out the pearl and saying to herself why do I feel someone is waiting for me and whenever I see this pearl some blurry image will pop out into my head.

Alvina (her friend) told me that hill where I fell down was so far from sea shore I found on next day how could waves bring me to this far and where did this pearl came from? All I have is only questions.

Should I go back to the sea and check once again and find the answers?

I opened my eyes, sweating a lot, oh my!  it was just a nightmare. Why do I always have

that blurred image dream?

I think what I’m seeing in my dream is related to the ocean incident I must find

out it or else I just go crazy.

I packed my bags and flew to the beach city.

I sat at the sea shore, it was around 5: 45 am, the sun

rises scene makes me feel blissful.

I felt chilled at my back, may be someone is standing behind

me when I turned back crap, it is them who chased me during that night.

Suddenly I stood up, tried to escape but they all surrounded me had no choice

other than to surrender.

I shut my eyes tightly, it’s all over I’m feeling regret do

I really wanted answers for those stupid questions, i digged my own grave now.

 Suddenly someone

embraced me from back and kicked those idiots. I was so terrified I hugged him,

closed my  eyes as soon as he started to

fight I don’t know what happened those people ran away like they saw a monsters.

He hugged me back and gently patted on my head, slowly I

opened my eyes and saw his eyes, he was damn handsome at that moment I freeze

myself without hesitation I was just staring at him and he was too staring at me

back, the cool breeze made him to flip his long eyelashes, and his wavy hairs

feels me to touch it once, waves sound of the sea was really disturbing me, I

just couldn’t stop myself to avoid his eyes.

Instantly I gained my conscious and pushed him and stepped

back.

He didn’t reply.

I asked him what’s your name? where are you from?

He just staring at my face blankly.

I understood he doesn’t know my language may be he is  from other countries.

I introduced myself as Hi I’m ellina , your name? with

actions I made myself embarrassed because of his silence.

It’s no use, I just told good bye to him and walked away, he

started to follow me, initially I thought may be he is also on the same way as

me. Then he followed till my room.

Why are you following me do you want to say something?

This dumbass just seeing my face, I don’t know what I have

to do with him, though he is handsome, good fighter but he was bit weird at his

character.

But anyway he helped me may be I want to repay for his help

and asked him to come to room and gave some snacks and juice to him. he didn’t

have anything he was suspious at those things.

Then I grabbed the bite from it and showed him how to have

it with my actions, then he slowly started to eat by watching all over my room.

Hi alvina I’m near to beach city, I had some work so I came

here.

What? Why are you over there, if these people see you what

you will do.

you know I met with those people and someone saved me and he

is now in my room.

realised he is from village so he might not know much about technology and

started to show my phone to him and made him to learn how to use it.

I turned on TV, he felt so surprised and happy to see the

figures on TV, he went  near to it and pointed

at it again and some kind of happiness was present on his face.

I felt he is like a small baby who doesn’t know anything

about the world.

since 2 hours he stayed at my room watching TV and I felt

bit uncomforted how long will he stay here and asked him to come for shopping.

We both went for shopping he was really happy by seeing

those things we had some snacks too and I told ok fine bye it’s already late

now, we have to go on our way.

His blank face and silence made me fuss out about it so I told

bye.

I turned back can you speak? And you can understand my language.

He told I don’t know I just saw the TV and learnt the

language by their actions and speaking way.

I felt angry at his reply what kind of non-sense you are

spouting out how can you learn within few hours you just made fun of me.

I walked away from that place.

Ellina wait, I’m sorry but it’s true initially I was not

knowing how to speak your language I used your phone and scanned it through my

eyes I came to understand your language and when I watched TV I completely

understood their actions.

His pleading face melt my anger and we both became friends

within a few minutes and we went to bar and we had fun together.

Later we bought drinks bottle went near to sea side.

Slowly we started to have chat, I asked him about his family

My name is david I stay nearby village here. I don’t have

any family I’m from orphanage.

My name is ellina, I’m an research student, studying about

phytology(here phytology is studying of plants life) and I stay in city with

friends, my parents are in other city.

Chat was going on we enjoyed each other company but I came

to know he is really innocent and dumb boy. Strange thing is he drank more than

me but I got drunk before him.

You know what few days ago I fell into sea and somehow I got

saved and here only I was sleeping the next day morning.

I described all the incidents to him

Entire night david was staring at ellina with a care

feeling.

When I opened my eyes, it was already morning I was hugging

david and he was so close to me that I could hear his breathe clearly and he

opened his eyes, I got panicked and moved. We spent together most of the time.

After few days, I found that It’s waste of time to be in beach

city to find answers for stupid questions so I decided to move out.

When I told this to david I could see his sad feeling at his

eyes even I was not willing to move away from him. some kind of close

relationship was built between us.

But I found out that he was very curious about the pearl. so

I gave him my college address and phone number so if he wants to see the pearl

he can come and contact me.

I left the city…..
