"At the bookshop"

It was a faint evening around 6-7pm ,

I was on my way to meet my friend, who had wrote a new novel over romance named -

"The wall and the flower" , and she called me for reviewing it.

I have an utter dislike to novels and books relating to romance stories where the female would be as weak as an ant while the male holding almost every power in the world. Basically I don't dislike it I hate it.

Why is the curriculum always said to be the female as weak and the male as the strong?

My friend was the total opposite.

So I guess that her novel will be the same , I even had words prepared for her novel review. There was a 99% chance I would dislike it and taunt her.

And about the bookshop I was talking about to my mother definitely won't happen.

I have an habit of making such excuses over the bookshop. My mother doesn't actually fall for it since she later knows it after hand.

Whoosshhhhh

The cars on the road near the crosswalk were terrifyingly fast breathing with the wind. Thinking of such where car crashes were common in my area made me even more reflexive towards my actions on the road avoiding car accidents.

*Ding dong*

I pressed the bell of my friend's house

"DAEUN!!!"

"Soomin ! "

Her speech almost made me deaf.

She was as loud as any microphone.

"I almost had my ears bleed"

"I am sooo sorry!!!"

"Come on head inside I have some food and refreshments to enjoy while you read"

"I need to take a bath first"

Next morning

Birds were chirping on the branch of a tree mating with each other.

There were faint noises from the field right near a big branch of tree.

"Miss !"

"Miss Zellina!!!"

I could notice some blur in my eyesight and a girl shouting someone's name on my face in some foreign language.

It said a familiar name that I couldn't actually remember.

"Zellina Diotta Hoggarde"

An old man spoke with bright red hair and light beardings.

My situation was as though I couldn't afford to speak neither move and wasn't able to see properly.

On the next second I fainted.

A sudden heavyweight felt in my chest,I woke up on a unfamiliar bed sweating heavily.

A girl of around 14-16 was waiting lying on the bed with her forehead covered with her hands.

"ahh"

I couldn't identify my voice.

It was as though it's not my body

I thought of myself as possessed or something.

From a light movement

The girl woke up.

"MISS ZELLINA!!!!!!!"

She was crying and weeping tears on the bedsheet.

Calling everyone with her shouts.

Even though I couldn't actually recognise the language she was speaking in but I could understand well.

She was freaking out of her wits.

"Yes yes , I am fine."

I ought to calm her down

"I AM SO SORRY MISS!!!!"

"HOW COULD THEY DO THAT TO MY MISS!?!?"

"AFTER ALL YOU ARE ALSO A ROYALTY!"

" W-what?"

"W-what?"

I was left in amazement that something this dramatic could actually happen.

"Is this some kind of cosplay?"

"What are you all? Actors?"

It was definitely not realistic and if it was heaven , there's no place like such even in heaven!

Does that mean I am a fairy? Oh hell no

"MI-SS?"

"First of all stop calling me that. "

"Why? You are our young miss"

'the young lady is acting weird'

'Did the maid do something wrong?'

'Diana is getting fired.'

'Shsssss! What if she hears you?'

'I don't wanna lose my job'

'Every morning is a havoc to live in her residence'

....was what they were whispering on the corridors

I can't lie that I can't hear them it's just

I am Lee Daeun and never in my life have I known this people bickering nonsense in the sidelines.

Even after squeezing my head for a million times all I could remember was me at soomin's house.

Wait! Don't tell me I had died?

Little by little having my memories back I started to tremble.

"I need to bath"

"Bath and come down for the reviewing, at the meantime I will prepare snacks!"

"Soomin? So this the file on your computer about the novel? 'The wall and the flower'?"

I asked

"Yes, go on read it I am making some noodles"

I tapped on the file and started reading the story word after word

The story goes as the crown prince of lynnes invited to Diotta to get to know his fiancee the 3rd princess ,

Tiffany De Clare Diotta on her birthday banquet which was to be held a month later.

And spots Clarice working as a maid and talks with her friendly for almost everyday.

Later after the banquet ends he identifies Clarice who was a maid till the banquet turning out to be that princess,who is bad mouthed, a gold digger and a low born according to rumours.

He was surprised but never exclaimed the fact that he was dissapointed.

Later he stopped meeting the princess disguised as a 'maid'

On the other hand Clarice who had a time let it be a tiny of it ,which she enjoyed and was quite upset on seeing the person who used to visit her never coming anymore.

After 2 years they met again in the moonlight festival held every 2 years between the commoners lighting up every street , knowing about their identities on the same day

*wind fluttering*

Clarice fell in love.

The moment Nicholas had an eye contact with Clarice ,

Clarice couldn't help but blush on her cheeks with her pitch dark hair slowly uncovered due to the sudden wind.

Nicholas who stared at Clarice getting onto the flow of her gaze shrunk back and mentally gave a slap to his face.

What was he doing?

Having a fiancee whom he was gonna marry soon and here he was wavering for a different woman.

Clarice fell in love.

She was unknowingly very happy meeting the guy whom she talked with 'disguised' as a maid.

Giving out cheerful energy with her wide smile.

The moment Nicholas looked away she ran to him following all around and enjoying the festival with him.

Until the parade occuring in the festival they were seperated unknowingly from a sudden blow of the crowd.

At this moment Nicholas didn't actually hesitate to leave her for good.

Clarice who still was lingering on the streets searching for him until the bell on the time tower rang and she quickly retreated back to her residence.

That was their first encounter outside the palace.

When I, read them it more or less sounded as usual of a story.

Like how the beauty and the handsome prince on his white horse sounded like.

I turned the pages,

The story went on from her yearning for him and not able to think of a reason that they weren't able to meet.

On her sister's birthday banquet, That is

They met again ,

But this time as a princess and a prince.

Nicholas showed his utter displeasure around her and Clarice still processing what actually went wrong.

After getting aware of the fact that he was her sister's fiancee , she stopped herself from anything or expecting anything from him.

Clarice would corner herself the whole banquet while getting nitpicked behind her back and right front of her eyes.

That sounded super lame!

I had to say this was super stupid!

I marked the part I didn't actually like and the parts whom needed a re-entry.

This scene was one of them.

The Hoggarde princess, Zellina would gang up on Clarice and start to insult her either way.

She stood there helpless getting laughed by the nobles on the banquet.

On the foundation day of the empire of Diotta

The Lynnes were invited for the big celebration and for congratulating with other countries and different aristocrats families.

On the busy day , Nicholas spotted Clarice getting bullied by the maids on the left balcony of the royal residence.

Nicholas watching such auspicious event couldn't hold up and barged on them , the maids started fleeing one by one neglecting the injured princess.

Nicholas helped Clarice to her room only to notice how bad the maintenance was done with her status as a princess.

Even maids had better rooms for sleeping.

Clarice's room was cramped , there were spider webs on the walls, furnitures were badly kept with cracks underneath as though they would break the second a person sat or sleep on it.

The worse was that the princess was so skinny and didn't have appropriate dresses compared to what was on trend.

On first look he pitied her.

Days passed by they started meeting again regaining their friendship.

Only to realise that he was wrong.

Clarice wasn't at all what the rumors suggested.

Clarice did her best avoiding him and not actually paying him any attention.

She didn't wanted to have false hopes

Nicholas kept on meeting her , and even till that point that he talked with her at the banquet even though she was recieving the highest criticism.

Clarice wouldn't open up just because of that.

On the foundation day,

While she was being thrown a wine glass bare with some wine on the terrace of the palace, Nicholas was shocked to know that his own fiance Tiffany was out bullying her.

He felt dissapointed.

Without giving any second thought he went and stopped Tiffany from her doings.

Tiffany who continued to bad mouth her left on a whim.

Clarice's forehead was bleeding from the wince glass getting hit.

From this day on, Nicholas didn't leave Clarice ever alone.

Nicholas departed with his country from the empire and started exchanging letters with Clarice.

She was happy to the point that she got a friend who was sooner the later gonna be her brother in law,

To her,

Expecting good relations from even her family was a very hard thing.

On knowing about getting a supportive brother in law was much more of happiness to her.

They kept on exchanging letters which later evolved to exchanging gifts.

After Tiffany got to know about the exchanging gifts thing , she got enraged.

She started spreading rumors of her as a wh*re , home wrecker trying to steal her sister's soon-to-be husband.

They started to bully her at large.

She would get injuries or get hurt everytime but a smile would appear everytime she sent letters to him.

Knowing it was one-sided , she didn't held her hopes high and would always keep her line clear.

On spring, two years later,

The Lynnes were facing rebilion after Nicholas's father passed away.

Nicholas succeeded the throne after defeating the rebeling 5th prince.

After ascending to the throne,

He went straight far west to the Diotta to confess his feelings to Clarice and breaking off his engagement with Tiffany.
