I Don’T Want To Do What You Tell Me.

Chapter 1

BOOM. “What the hell.” As I got up with my vision blurry and blood running down my arms I realized the extent of the situation I was in. This war was supposed to end after this final battle. There were craters all around me. I assume they were made by some insanely powerful magic. My unit has been utterly decimated. These people were my friends. They were nobles from all around the country. Why did this happen? Were we given bad intel? I need to make sure everyone is alright. As the unit leader, I am an absolute failure. I let my friends die. As I was coming back to my senses I grasped my sword firmly and ran to the frontlines. I conjoured a massive stone wall to protect my unit, my friends. I immediately ordered a full retreat. Then I started praying to whatever god was out there, and that they were watching us. Immediately a light came beaming down from the sky. I was in utter amazement, or was it shock and disbelief. I had prayed randomly and I didn't even believe in god. Then this kind of miracle happens. It does seem to make me want to think over my life choices for sure though. The beam annihilated the enemies and the giant stone wall I had conjoured. “I just want to go home at this point.” I thought. I wanted to be with my girlfriend. She was my childhood friend and just recently became my fiancée. I just want to be with her and spend time with her. To tell her I love her so much. I had thought I wouldn’t get to do that less than 5 minutes ago. I swear that that god that caused the miracle to happen, I will never forget them and that I will worship them as my savior. As the enemies force buckled from the giant beam. Instead of retreating, we pushed forward even more to secure our victory in this war. We took the enemies main headquarters shortly after that and waited for reinforcements to arrive. Once reinforcements arrived we were told we could go home finally. But that wasn’t the case for everyone who had come to this battle. There were a lot of us dead. They wouldn’t get to see their families again until the families died. “I’m a failure as a unit leader.” I thought to myself. We picked up the deceased, and transported them safely back to our homeland. This war was over for us. We were going back home and we actually had a home. When we arrived back home I immediately went around to the families of the fallen and told them what had happened and how bravely their loved ones had fought. I was hit with various mixed reactions. Some family members were sad. Others were angry and some were even happy that they’re loved one had got the chance to serve in the military. Finally it was my time to see my fiancée
