Life, death. It's all the same thing. people fear the ugly truth and praise the beautiful lie. Some don't want what's in the Beautiful lie and seek refuge in the ugly truth. Death is a superstition. No one knows what happens after life so they fear death. They come up with happy ending like Heaven and make children fear being bad through Hell but how can human know something they've never seen?
Nobody questions these things now. Maybe our ancestors had these thoughts but only people who cares about these things are the people who notice what is outside. Smog killing the once beautiful Earth and killing anyone who is careless enough to be outside without proper gear and guard.
The year is 2083. Sky full of smoke and disease, ocean full of plastic and shards of glass, land full of trash and wasted items. Ellie Burrowsen's one of the few people who go outside anymore. She's definitely inhaling disease but she doesn't care, as long as she find something interesting in the old dump, she'll be fine. Little does Ellie know that what happens next will change her life forever. She'll never ever be able to go back to her old life.
Down the rabbit hole down to another life she might've lived, to change this life is to change her future. Perhaps instead of her mom neglecting her, she'll have a mother and father who both look and see her brilliant, that is, if she manages to get back to the life Ellie is living now.
Her head gets clouded as she wakes up in a very fancy room. Ellie sees a small child that looks about no older than eight or nine years of age. He shouts excitedly and Ellie looks around the very fancy room and drifts back to sleep.
In and out of sleep. Each time she wakes up she hears chattering around her bed. Once in a while someone crying and weeping comes into her room. What does she do? She can barely even open her eyes, how did she get here?
Ellie's head is full of static like noises. It keeps waking her up and bothering her. She keeps hearing a robotic voice start when she's awake and abruptly stop when she manages to get back to sleep.
Get up! She yells at her body but this time, not even her eye's work. How is she supposed to get back to her home when she can't even move? GET UP! GET UP! GET UP! *She continues to try and command her body but it's like everything is working against her.
"Help... me..." Ellie finally said something. Not something useful, but still something. She hears the rushing of people around her, most of those unknown people are crying perhaps out of fear, maybe out of joy? Well how is Ellie going to get out of here? No one is helping her.
I woke woke up in a very strange looking world yesterday. I was walking around the dump I usually go to to explore and I found a very old looking phone. I drifted to sleep and woke up in a new world. I could barely move for a whole day but now I can open my eyes and speak, kind of. I can say simple words like water, hot, cold, food, help, and pretty.
It's kind of dull and I don't know anyone who visits me. I can't really tell them that but oh well. Perhaps it's better like that, they seem to really care about the original owner of this body. Random thoughts cross my mind like Will mom realize I'm gone? or What's for lunch? Nothing that would help my situation.
My head is always aching like I banged really hard after falling from a really tall building. Maybe that did actually happen, I wouldn't know! I heard you can get brain damage and forget everything if you hit your head hard enough in a certain area of your brain, maybe that happened and that'd why I can't recall the original body owner's memories! Or maybe this is just my own body and the people taking care of me think I'm someone else. Either way, this place does not look like my home. Where I live there's always smoke in the air making it hard to breath, there's never a plastic back that isn't scattered on the ground, and almost no one ever goes outside but here the air seems so clean, people go outside to do various work, and there's no plastic, I haven't even seen one plastic item.
I've come up with a few theories, this is a video game in the phone, I traveled back in time, or this is a sweet dream. Honestly, I'd be fine with any of those, don't get me wrong, I do want to go back but it's nice to be away from the pollution for a while. No one would miss me that much anyway, my mom is so calm when I go missing that she doesn't even bother trying to call me. When I was little, I had got out for a while and I got lost and my when I got back I found out that my mom had just been watching television for the whole night I was gone so I doubt my mom will worry if I disappear for a while. My dad is all the way in Chicago so why would he care if I was missing, and I have a total amount of zero friends so really, no one is going to be worrying about me.
It's kind of late and everyone's left my room. I'm finally able to turn the upper part of my body but it hurts to do that a lot so I'm not going to do that a lot. It's really hard to fall asleep since now the upper part of my body is aching quite a bit, and my headache still hasn't gone.
I'm just laying here and then a person dressed in black swings through my window. They didn't notice I was awake and went to go kill me but thankfully my arms could move and I blocked their knife. I used whatever was left of my energy and screamed for help. The assassin covered my mouth
"Shut up!" They whispered. I bit their hand "OW!" He yelped.
"HELP ME!" I continued to scream, my headache became so much worse. It felt like someone had stabbed it hundreds of times. The assassin was running around, luckily the last person who left my room locked the door so the assassin couldn't get out from there and I'm pretty sure my room was on a pretty high floor so the assassin was sure to get seriously injured if they jumped out of the window. Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't just kill me and move on.
Someone had finally came to save me. They were dressed in shiny metal armor so I assume they were a guard or something. The guard smacked the assassin with a pan and dragged him out like nothing happened.
Well, I'm not sleeping anymore after that.
