Life didn't have, much to offer and that's what Alissa learned at the age of twenty-one. She was in her first year of college and she couldn't say life was as glamorous as she thought it would be. She goes clubbing with some of her friends, Adrianna and Lexie but she didn't like it that much.
She didn't want to be left out of the College experience. She went into her dorm room and she lay down on her bed.
Alissa had a long day of lectures and she was feeling very exhausted. She stared at the ceiling and she was glad she made the right choice of renting a single room because she didn't think she could stand the loudness of a roommate at the moment.
She needed time for herself. After resting up a bit, she gets up and looks for some food in the fridge, but she has nothing. She always forgot to buy groceries on time.
That was the sad thing about living away from your parents you were all alone. You have to budget your money and all. It was proving to be a struggle for her. She rummaged through her purse and she found some money.
She knew that it wouldn't last her long as she sighed, she hated this. She went and took out her sneakers from under the bed and she put them on.
It was getting a bit chilly, so she put on a sweater. She did one take in the mirror and she noted that her brown hair was intact and her green eyes held a bit of a spark. She put on her glasses as she couldn't see without them when she was ready to be out the door.
She checked her phone for the time and she realized that it was four in the afternoon and the sun was already setting.
Alissa rushed out and she went down the street. She enjoyed the fresh air and the time for her to breathe a bit.
She was going to go to the coffee shop and get a sandwich and smoothie. She didn't feel like cooking nor did she have a lot of money to have other options.
She walked down a block and she finally noticed the coffee shop, she went and saw there was a bit of a queue which she didn't mind because at times it was worse when students received their allowances.
When she got to the front, she placed her order and she got a slip. "You may wait at the side, we will call you when your order is ready."
Alissa went and sat down. She took out her phone and as she expected she had got messages from her friends, wondering if they would all have dinner together.
She agreed to it and she told them that she was still getting supper, so she would be running a bit late.
"I would like the number eight."
Alissa looked up when she heard the voice. She had never heard such a beautiful voice and she was then met by a beautiful face.
Alissa had never seen anyone so beautiful. Even though she only saw the back part of him she was very curious as to who he was. When he turned around, there he was with Black hair and blue eyes. He took out his phone and it seemed as if he was typing something.
She was so engrossed in him that they had to call her order number three times before she realized it was her order.
Alissa went up and got her food, she kept on side-eyeing. She wanted to say something to him, but she didn't know what. She realized that she was not the only person who was staring at him. They were other girls gawking at him.
He didn't even flinch once, it was as if he was used to girls gawking at him. Alissa left the store and she knew she wanted to see him again. Yet she didn't know how she would find him again.
She got back to her dorm and she went to Adrianna's room. She opened the door, "You are finally here." Lexie said.
"What took you so long?" Adrianna added.
"There was a long queue, that's why." She replied.
She couldn't tell them that she was gawking at some stranger. She took out her sandwich and took a bite out of it.
How would she see him again? Who was he? Did he go there regularly?
"Earth to Alissa." Lexie said.
She turned to them, "What?"
"You are here but not here," Adrianna said.
"Sorry guys, I am a bit tired. Can we call this a night? I don't feel too well."
"Is everything all right?" Lexie asked.
"Yes, nothing that I can't handle." As she gave them a reassuring smile.
Alissa hugged them both and she went back to her room. She lay on her bed and she wondered who he was?
Why hadn't she spoken to him? She should have at least asked for his number. But would he have said yes?
She highly doubted it, he seemed as if he had a lot of admirers.
She tried to sleep but she kept on tossing and turning.
Sleep finally gave in.
Alissa woke up the next morning and she showered and got ready,
She knew what she was going to do. She was going to come up with a plan as to how she would see him again.
Her first stage was going back to the café at the same time she had gone yesterday.
She went to her lectures and quickly came back.
She took a nap, but she set the alarm clock, so she would be at the café at the right time. When she woke up, she got dressed and ran out.
She arrived at the café and she ordered a smoothie. When it was ready, she sat there and drank it hoping that he would show up real soon.
Alissa drank her smoothie until it was done but to no avail, he never showed up. After an hour of waiting she knew she had to leave.
She went out hoping that she would bump into him, but she didn't. When she got into her bed, she thought that there would always be a tomorrow. She would do the same plan that she always did.
A month had passed, and she had done the same thing over and over again. It was at night-time and Lexie and Adrianna had come to her room.
"That cafe must be that good," Adrianna said.
"Yeah, I like the food." As she lied. She didn't want them to know that she went there for a guy that she hadn't even seen for a whole month or that she would never see.
Alissa went back to the cafe the next afternoon. She felt despondent, even the girl who served there knew who she was now. She had become a regular customer.
"The same." As she asked her, about the usual smoothie she got.
"Yes please." She replied.
Today she felt tired and she wasn't going to wait, she had a lot of work to do. Maybe he was visiting, and he just stopped by on his way to wherever he was going.
She walked out the door and she bumped into someone, and she split the smoothie all over her.
Alissa couldn't believe her luck, she felt as if the heavens had heard her prayer and she was finally answered. She couldn't believe how much better-looking he looked up close. She had never been so happy to be bumped into and spilled smoothie by someone. If it was someone else, she wouldn't be as pleased as she was right now. She restrained herself from touching him. She wanted to check if he was real, that this wasn't a hallucination.
"Are you okay?" he asked, searching her face.
"Yes." She stammered.
"Let me get you another one." As he motioned her back to the store. He held the door open for her and she went and sat by the booth. He came back after sending in the order and he handed her tissues. Alissa wiped herself.
He sat across her and he took out his phone. He started to type, and Alissa stared at him. He looked way better up close. She couldn't believe that he was right there and within reach. As if sensing her gaze, he looks up and he stares right back at her. He doesn't blink, and Alissa looks away.
She looks up again and he is still staring at her.
She takes a leap of faith, "What is your name?"
He tilts his head with amusement. "Why do you want to know my name?"
"Just for interest's sake." She replies.
Their order number is called up and he goes and fetches it. Alissa realizes that she is the envy of many because of him.
He comes back with a smoothie and food. He also has a bag for himself.
"I only had ordered a smoothie. I didn't have any food." She says. Confused as to why he had bought her food and not just the smoothie.
"I know but it looks like you need it." He replies.
Alissa blushes, she knew she didn't look her greatest. When she wants to take the package and leave. He stops her.
"Sit." He says.
Alissa sits down, and she adjusts her glasses.
"You will eat where I can see you." As his eyes have a strong intensity in them.
She opens the food and she takes a bite.
"How is it?" he asks.
"It's great," she replies.
"That's good." As he starts to eat his food.
"Do you come here often?" Alissa asks.
"Once in a while when I am craving a good old sandwich." As he motions for her to carry on eating. Which she does.
"Where do you go then? If not here?" Alissa asks.
He raises his eyebrows in amusement. "I usually go out at night. I go to clubs."
She nods, "Which clubs?"
"Clubs that you can't handle." His eyes held something daring.
What did he mean by that? She put it in the back of her head. She wanted to ask him more but the questions were stuck in her throat. She would feel like she was now just prying in his business. She keeps on stealing glances at him.
They finish their food and they get up. They walk out the door before he gets in his car, she calls out to him.
"You didn't tell me your name."
"It's Aron." And with that, he gets into his red Mustang. He drives off and Alissa knows that she will never be able to let him go. She had never wanted someone in her life as she wanted him. He was everything she wanted in a guy, but she didn't know how she would get him
She would have to find him at this club. She had taken note of his number plates and she would have to find him now that she had his name.
It was a good thing that he didn't know her name, so when something went wrong, she could easily avoid it.
Alissa went back to her dorm so that she could devise a plan on how to see him again. She opened her laptop and she searched for Aron but found nothing. She needed to come up with a plan and she closed her laptop. She knew what she would do tomorrow, it was very risky, but she had to see him, and this was the only way she knew how.
