Once upon a time in a land long since burned to ash there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom very much.

At least that’s what the slave girl told herself day and night. The last two years had been a mess for the former assassin Nila Belmont! Former assassin only because she couldn’t get out of this hellhole called endovier it was a salt mine filled with slaves and she was one of them. Ever since she got their all she could remember was screaming it was always there it didn’t matter if it was day or night it never stopped. Almost a year ago was when she had arrived at endovier not ten minutes had she been there she was given rags and a pickaxe and was set to work.

She did have to give them credit for efficiency but she wished they had not been so efficient with their security. It made it very difficult to escape there were archers in the towers sentries at the gate and oversers in the mine. So it was difficult but not impossible! She had a few tricks up her sleeve the first was they thought she was mute because screaming was the only noise she made! The second was for once she made friends not enemies! The third was she was trained to use any weapon out there so a pickaxe is very helpful.

She was thoroughly sick of this place the tunnels lit only by lanterns! the opening of the mine that she hardly saw because no one could ever get close.She look for ways out when no one was watching her but the only thing she found was more bodies! And that was saying something considering that the overseers would whip and then kill you if you so much as took a second to rest.

Sometime last week a new chief overseer was appointed she made sure to mark his face she wanted to get a good look at him so she pretended to trip and fall her hopes in doing so that he would stop and whip her! it would be painful but it would be Worth it so she did but instead of whipping her he stop to help her up! It wasn’t the reaction she was expecting but it would do.

When she looked up the first thing she saw was his sea green eyes that matched perfectly his golden brown hair! Once she got a good look at him she quickly retreated from his grip and looked apologetic as and faked a look of fear in her eyes although he just smiled walked right past her as nothing happened.

She couldn’t quite figure out what was up with him she up all through the night trying to figure it out one thing was for sure someone pulled some strings to get him in this position but why was her question in all the time she’d been here they had never hired someone new.

Early the next day the chief overseer summoned her at first she thought it was because of yesterday so as she was in shackles because of a previous incident she could only wonder why she was summoned when the door opened she saw him sitting on a chair she noted a few things the first being he was in a different uniform then the others he had on black pants and a white shirt not the Navy blue the sentrys war. he looked at her and gave her the same smile from yesterday and then said in a Pleasant voice hello Nila.

When the door opened she saw the chief overseer sitting on his chair she hadn’t been able to find out his name although she had a feeling she would soon. Welcome he said to her in a pleasant voice chils went down her spine what was going to happen to her she kept wondering.

...Leave us he told the guards that made her even more worried! bad things hapend to the woman in the mine who were left alone with an overseer so as soon as the guards left the room she looked around to find something to use as a weapon. But he looked at her and said calm down am not going to hurt you With no surprise she didn’t if anything she promised herself she would die with dignity so from walking through the door she made sure to stay calm and keep breathing. ...

...At first she kept her eyes on the floor but as she looked up she saw those sea green eyes that she couldn’t get out of her mind. She held his stare as he spoke! ...

...You probably don’t remember me he said but I remember you she raked her memories to try to remember him but the only thing that looked familiar were his eyes! He watched her trying to remember him so after a few seconds of painful silence he said to her I was your first contract. ...

...That was why she remember his eyes if he was her first contract that would mean his name was Riley tepish she almost said his name out loud but rememberd she had to keep pretending she was mute. ...

...Being mute might not seem to be a advantage but if she could not speak the guards and sentries could say anything around her that was how she got most of her information about what was going on in the mine and outside! ...

...She still looked at him faking the fear in her eyes he said once again! Calm down I don’t want to Hurt you I have a proposal for you she nodded and he took that as a sign to continue but first he said! I know you can talk so stop pretending you are mute. She looked at him baffled about how he knew. ...

...He let out a small laugh! I went over your information from what I gathered you don’t know sign language all you really do is nod yes or no! Fine you caught me she said with the voice that hadn’t uttered a word in a year! Yes i can talk so what do you want? Well I see you don’t want to beat around the bush, he said in a amused tone, from the way I see it I need a assassin and you want to get out of here....

...Before I listen to a another word I want to hear your plan to get me out of here, very well, he said in a more serious tone, you know that slaves can be sold and bought in endever. The word slave made her skin boil so before he could say another word she said, I have no intention of being bought not by you or any one else! She said in a voice that would make lesser man recoil in fear but he only said, you misunderstand me I only plan to buy you to free you, she ...

...Still looked angry so he clarified, once I get you out of here I fully plan to give you you’re freedom! ...

Freedom a word she hadn’t even dare think so she said, continue, he gave her a wicked grin and did.
