Me and my family moved to a nearby beach, at Tokoshima City. My parents are so addicted to swimming. Me? I never liked swimming that much. Not even when I was a kid. I was walking down the shore to get some fresh air. Until I saw a strange thing at the water. It looked like a Fin. I'm not sure if it was a Dolphin or some kind of Flying Fish. I tried to ignore what I saw. I couldn't help it.

I, then, sat on the soft white sand, while the water washed away my feet. The wind blowing my hair in different ways. I kept looking at the water. The waves splashing around. People swimming. Some were doing surfboard and other activities.

"Rin? Come on inside! It's cold out there!" That woman calling my name? Yeah. That's my mom. Satsuki Fujiwara. She's a real over-protective mom. The more I grow up, she would still worry about me. Sometimes I just wanna tell her that I can handle things by myself. I don't need help. But she would still follow her ways. But I love my mom. She's cool.

"Coming mom!" I replied to her, as I got up and took one last peak at the ocean. I smiled a bit. I wonder what's it like being in the ocean.

Moments passed and it was night time. I ate my favorite food: Sushi and Soba! Really good! My dad is really a good chef. Mirio Fujiwara, He's the worlds greatest chef at Osaka, until he moved to Tokyo.

Anyways! I was coming out of our house, and headed back to the shore. Until I heard people talking.

"Did you hear? One of the fishermen said they saw a mermaid.."

"Really? But mermaids don't even exist."

Yeah, I don't believe in 'Magical' creatures.

So I was removing my dress, by the shore. Good thing I was wearing my bathing suit. I decided to swim once in a lifetime.

As the water splashed my body, and the deeper I went, I started drowning. I tried calling for help, but I was too far by the shore. Suddenly, I drowned completely. I didn't even know how to swim. I never got special training. As i drowned deeply, I closed my eyes thinking that I was gonna die fastly.

'This is how I'm gonna die? All I wanted was to live a normal life. With my mom and dad.. Maybe they could teach me.. How to.. Swim..'

There ,I , was hitting the sand from below with the coral reef. The fishes swimming around. I laid there unconsciously.

??? POV:

I was swimming around. Around the depths of the ocean. Until.... I found a girl.

I swam closer to her, looking at her. 'A human?' The thought came to me. I checked her pulse, and she was still alive. So, I decided to help her. I carried her in my arms and swam back up to the shore.

While, I placed her on the sand, my Fin started disappearing and turned into Human Legs. I let her lay on my lap for a bit until she woke up.

Moments passed, and she finally woke up. She looked around and she knew that she was back. "I'm.. Alive?" She said to herself, looking at her hand. She turned around to see me, at the back of her. She gasped and backed up a bit. "Who are you?" She questioned me with curiosity. I gave in a small chuckle and stood up,lending her a hand. "My name is Shouto Todoroki. And I'm the one who saved you." I answered her question politely giving her a smile. I can tell she was looking at me in the eyes. Making eye contact. I did the same actually, as she took my hand and stood up. "What can I call you?" I asked, and let go of her hand slowly. "Rin.. I'm Rin Fujiwara.." She replied to my answer.

Suddenly, a strange voice called out her name.

"Rin!? Come home already, it's late!"

Rin looked over and face palmed herself. "Coming mom!" I can tell she was a bit annoyed by her mom, she sighed and walked right up to their cabin. Before she could walk inside, she'd turn around to look at me. " Do you want to come in?" She'd asked. I looked at her, and smiled. "I guess I can spend some time around here, than in the ocean.." I walked up to her, but stopped. "What do you mean by Ocean?" She asked as she looked up to me with her arms crossed. I widened my eyes and stuttered. "N-nothing!" I chuckled awkwardly and walked inside with her.
