Now...Lets begin.
Narrator
In a very small town called Duskville, lived Marie Copeland.
Narrator
She had gotten married a year ago, and things were starting to look bright.
Narrator
Marie had bought her husband everything, from a truck, to the most expensive motor bike she could see.
Narrator
One day, Marie had went to adopt a child. She came back with a tan skinned girl in her arms.
Her husband, Marc saw the baby coming home with Marie.
Ms.Copeland
Why, its a little baby girl! Isn't she a beauty, Marc?
Marc
She looks very pleasant.
Marc
But now, we need to start dinner. Can you bring her back to her parents now?
Ms.Copeland
*laughs to herself*
Marc
What's so funny?! I told you to return her to her parents!!!
Ms.Copeland
That's what you don't get, Marc.
Marc
I don't understand. What is this all about, Marie?
Ms.Copeland
Remember how I told you that I've always wanted a girl that looks just like me?
Marc
Yes. Where is this going?
Ms.Copeland
I decided to adopt this one.
The Entrance
Narrator
Marie steps back in fright.
Marc
What kind of joke is this?!?!
Ms.Copeland
Marc, you always supported my dreams of having a girl child!
Marc
Of course! I never allowed you to adopt one!!
Ms.Copeland
I'm really sorry, Marc.
Ms.Copeland
But it seems like now, we'll have to keep her.
Ms.Copeland
I can't stand seeing her alone....
Ms.Copeland
Where are you going, Marc?
Marc
I need to take a walk. To clear my head.
Ms.Copeland
Alright! Be back soon!!!
Narrator
A couple hours pass...
Narrator
Marie doesn't see or hear from Marc. She calls all of her neighbors who don't know where he is also.
Narrator
A few days pass, and Marie decides to move away and start her new life with her child.
Narrator
She names her Juliet, and travels to Dusktown.
Juliet is now twelve, and is still staying with her mother.
Juliet is homeschooled, because of Marie's fear
Juliet
Why can't I ever go outside and play with the other kids?
Juliet
I'm always inside, and when I do go outside, I can't talk to anyone.
Ms.Copeland
Julie, you're not supposed to ask those questions.
Ms.Copeland
What isn't revealed to you, isn't for a reason.
Juliet
*sighs* Yes, Mother.
Miss Copeland looks outside.
Ms.Copeland
Juliet, can you stay here?
Ms.Copeland
I need to deliver some of these cookies to one of our neighbors.
Juliet
Okay. I will stay here, Mother.
Ms.Copeland
Good girl. I'll be back soon!!
When she leaves, a boy comes in Juliet's house.
Juliet
Who are you?! And what do you want???!
Eric
WHOA! No need to be alarmed!
Eric
I know your mom, Miss.Copeland.
Eric
So Do you live her just with your mom?
Juliet
Of course! Doesn't everybody?
Eric
*laughs* Have you ever been outside?
Juliet
Not really. Mother homeschools me.
Juliet
She always tells me to stop asking questions about the world.
Juliet
she says its a "place full of liars"
Eric
She must have had some bad experience.
Eric
Have you ever been to school, Juliet?
Juliet
I've heard children talking about it.
Juliet
But no, I've always been inside, homeschooled.
Eric
You know, if you ever feel bored or lonely, you can come outside with us.
Eric
Yeah, me and my friends.
Juliet
Oh...okay! Thank you, Eric!
Eric
No problem! See ya soon, Juliet-
Eric leaves, and Ms.Copeland sees Juliet sitting down with a smile on her face.
Ms.Copeland
I'm back, Julie!
Ms.Copeland
You look really happy, I must say!
Ms.Copeland
What happened while I was gone?
Juliet
I was looking out the window. I saw lots of children and they waved at me.
Ms.Copeland
But you know, you shouldn't look out there.
Juliet
Can't I do anything, Mother???
Ms.Copeland
What? Don't speak to me like that, Julie.
Juliet
Mother, I've never seen anything besides going out by myself.
Juliet
I want to explore the world around me!!
Ms.Copeland
You know that the world is an upsetting place.
Ms.Copeland
Go sit down, Julie.
Ms.Copeland
Dinner will be ready in a few minutes.
