This is the end" Mirai said as she stretched her hands while sitting in

front of a computer. Just as these words came out of her mouth she received a

light smack on the head with a book she quickly looked backward and saw her

unit chief. He looked quite pissed as he stated "The end is just the start

to a new beginning plus whose fault is it that we had to do overtime".

Mirai couldn't help but yawn as she looked outside the window "Never

thought i would see the sunrise".

    While reading the report Mirai just finished he said "Knowing

how lazy you are i have no doubt on that statement"

Mirai looked at him with such a sharp gaze that it probably could pierce

right through him.

Returning the look Zhao coldly uttered

"what?".

Without a word Mirai stood up and went out the door of her office.

  A month back Zhao was called to the commissioner office where he was

introduced to her as a new part of his team. "She just got transferred

from the south district so look after her".

  But this new member couldn't help but get on his nerves and it has

been non stop bickering from both of them ever since. Both of them couldn't

help but tease and annoy each other over and over again.

  Truth be told Zhao Yunlan was a top tier officer cold, serious,

stubborn and intelligent. Whether it was hand to hand combat, shooting or

investigating he was perfect in all aspects.

  After close consideration he was appointed as the new chief of the

S.C.I.U. No one dared to go against him accept Mirai. This really annoyed him

but in Mirai's opinion he just had a really big ego.

    The S.C.I.U consisted of six members all together. There was

the chief Zhao Yunlan a tall and masculine man. He had fair skin, hazel colored

eyes and dark brownish hairs. He wore a white colored shirt, sleeves rolled up

and blue jeans. Deputy Chief Caleb he had a average height and a normal built.

Wearing a tee shirt, black jeans, sneakers and a necklace hung around his neck.

Black eyes and light brown hairs. Then there was a forensic expert Ron, he was

a pale looking guy with average looks. Clarissa a specialist in martial arts

and a top notch undercover agent. Adrien a tech specialist and a hacker and

lastly Mirai, she had medium height and slim figure. She had short hairs and

mostly wore men clothes. Green eyes and black hairs. If a person didn't knew

her they would definitely think that she was a boy at first glance.

Today again was just another day yet you could feel a cold presence feeling

in the wind even though it was the middle of summer when the heat is supposed

to be on its peak yet today it felt weird altogether. The wind carried a weird

distant feeling to it and the whole S.C.I.U could tell something terribly wrong

was going to happen.

    Just than the telephone started ringing..........

The sound of the telephone ringing echoed in the quiet department.

  Ring...Ring... it rang exactly two times before Zhao picked it up and

slowly placed it against his ear and whispered "hello". He kept

listening closely and with a sigh he placed the receiver back on the phone and

looked at the whole team with an intense gaze and then uttered there has been a

murder on ostin street.

  The team quickly arrived at the scene. A huge number of reporters and

civilian were standing around the crime scene. The police had already wrapped

caution tape around the area. As Zhao tried to enter the scene he was stopped

by a a police man. The policeman rudely asked Zhao "And where do you think

your going?". Zhao mockingly said "To the crime scene where else".

The policeman was definitely pissed he was just about to say something but he

was interrupted by his superior. "Oh Chief Zhao your already here please

come".

The police man jaw dropped to his feet. While walking past him the hold team

couldn't help but laugh at his reaction.

Zhao asked the cop "what are the details of this case?". 'The

murder is not just any murder as the surveillance cameras clearly recorded the

murder happening but no one can be seen even miles away". This statement

might be a shock to others but the S.C.I.U didn't even looked even the

slightest bit surprised. Well why should they be surprised it was their daily

routine to receive such cases. Ron quickly went near the body and examined it.

  The body was brutally slashed and what it appeared like claw mark on

it chest. The eye sockets were empty, several bones broken and the hair pulled

from the head.

        Mirai came close to the body just then she

smelled a certain odor from the body it was not a decaying smell but something

else. Suddenly her head starting feeling heavy and she became pale. Clarissa

was the first one to notice this and she suddenly said "Chief quick look

at Mirai. It looks like she is about to faint." With this remark every

ones attention diverted towards Mirai. Where as Mirai was in a daze than

suddenly Zhao shook her saying hey idiot are you okay. Mirai finally came to

her senses. In Zhaos mind he thought can she not stand the look of the corpse.

Mirai than explained that there was smell coming from the body and it felt

oddly familiar to her but she cant tell where she had smelled such odor.

Everyone became quite for a second. Even though unidentified creatures do exist

and even the attack is probably there doing but no normal human can pick up

their scent.

    In the whole S.C.I.U Zhao is only one who can do so as he is a

direct descendent of the "Qrins". Yet the girl standing in front of

him just told him that she could smell this scent.......
