South Warden Highschool of Alliance (SWHA), South Warden, Wardenlicht, Neo-Atlantis

Autumn 686 A.E. (Anno Eclissi)

"Hmm," the boy whose hair partially covered his eyes yawn, he covers his mouth with his right palm. He stands in front of a large gate, the gate of famous highschool for children who have mythical power, legendary legacy and special abilities.

The sleepy boy who is still standing without thinking of his surrounding then start to walk again. He's not even amazed, eventhough this is his first day enter SWHA, one of the top four special school in Neo-Atlantis.

No one care about him, a very ordinary young man, evenmore looks too ordinary to be a student of SWHA. Although his appearance was normal, his long hair makes the sleepy boy looks not too neat. The sleepy boy's body was not so tall, he has normal height for an Asian at sixteen despite that his white skin makes him look like European.

At eight o'clock, all students at SWHA gathered in the main hall of the school, located in western part of school area. That spring morning is the first day of academic year.

All students seem focus on the welcoming speech from the principal. The sleepy boy sitting in the back and looking down, makes a girl next to him thinking that he's really sleeping.

Even during teacher introduction and speeches from chairman of the student council, the sleepy boy shows no sign of waking up.

"Hey, wake up, now is the last speech from the representative of Britannia Alliance," the girl on the left of the sleepy boy whispered. The girl is wearing trendy glasses, have long greeny-black hair and have big chest which makes other people won't believe she is still sixteen years old.

No response.

The glasses girl nudges the sleepy boy's arm with her elbow.

The sleepy boy only responds by raising his hand in front of his head and gesturing so that the glasses girl doesn't bother him.

"Okay whatever," the glasses girl did not speak again.

After the welcoming ceremony is over, all new students will be given time to know more about their new school, their classroom and make new friends. Almost everyone comes out of the hall, but the sleepy boy keep sitting in his seat.

"You're not coming out?" the sleepy boy was greeted by a boy who sat in front of him earlier. That boy has a spiky hair like hedgehog, his witty smile made him look like someone who talked a lot. The boy's face is easily recognized as an East Asian person.

"Hmm," no answer from the sleepy boy.

The spiky boy smile and sit to the next sleepy boy, the former seat of the glasses girl earlier.

"You don't seem interested in this school, even though there aren't many people who can get into SWHA, one of the four academies of world alliance," commented the spiky boy.

Again, there's no answer from the sleepy boy. The spiky boy just smile and move, he understand that the sleepy boy didn't want to be disturbed.

"Okay, I'll go first, we'll get acquainted sometimes," the spiky boy left the hall and go out.

The sleepy boy sigh and move slowly, he walks out for another door. He seems want to avoid the crowd, but unfortunately some seniors who is still in the hall see him and offered a school-club brochure.

He refuse then continue his steps without caring about the others.

Right in front of the hall's small exit, the sleepy boy was surprised by a little girl who walks casually and wearing a formal dresses like a teacher. The sleepy boy stop so the little girl can walk first, she briefly glance at the sleepy boy's eye.

"Huh, this is why I hate people," grumble the sleepy boy.

After exiting the hall, the sleepy boy could feel the spring breeze blowing slowly. A gentle breeze made the hair that covering his eyes slightly open.

His eyes are unique, as if there is a sideless mirror behind his pupils. He take a deep breath and try to calm his mind.

"Well, maybe this isn't too bad."

At eleven o'clock, first day in school is over. All students allowed to go home.

To avoid the crowd, sleepy boy chose to wait in empty class until everyone left school ground. He just sit quietly in the chair closest to the window. But the relaxing time of the sleepy boy was interrupted by an uncomfortable feeling that suddenly appeared.

"Tch, a shard," he immediately looked annoyed.

The sleepy boy get up then walk to follow his senses. He knew something is coming, his steps accelerated as he walked down the corridor.

The sleepy boy's senses get stronger when walking to the library. Because he focused on his senses, sleepy boy didn't care about the people he passed along the corridor.

Upon arrival at the library, the sleepy boy enter and feel the senses increasingly focused. The problem is, he also felt the presence of one person who was still inside.

He knew where the position of the person in the library was, but he did not yet know where the appearance of something he was looking for.

The sleepy boy walked slowly along the tall library shelves, his senses brought him closer to the only person in the library.

"I know you will come," said someone when sleepy boy arrived at the corner of the library.

The suspicious person wore a white robe with a large hood so that his face could not be seen. The thing that sleepy boy knew is the person with white robe is woman.

"Who are you," ask the sleepy boy.

"Someone you don't need to know," answered the woman in a white robe. She pulling something from the air like unzipping.

"So it turns out you're the one who opened the shard," the sleepy boy said slowly.

"Yes."

"What do you want?"

"You."

Woman in white robe stepped closer to the sleepy boy. Her hand raised, she wanna touch sleepy boy's face.

The sleepy boy stay calm because he don't feel the threat directed at him. But she stopped before her hand reach the sleepy boy's face.

"Looks like it's not time yet," a little smile appears on her lips. She step back, empty space behind her split like broken glass.

The sleepy boy just stand in silence.

"I'm glad to see you again after all this time, seeing you is enough for now," said the woman in white robe before she disappearing into the shard, a dimensional fragment that connects this world to another world.

The sleepy boy looks a little upset .

"So troublesome," he said quietly before leave.

Autumn 686 A.E. (Anno Eclissi)

“Damn! I’m late!” an energetic boy run very fast on the sidewalk, his movements while avoiding pedestrians are very agile.

His North Warden Academy uniform and his shiny black hair waver when he run, his appearance make him the center of attention. His blue sky eyes is beautiful, his face is very handsome just like descendants of gods, his charming smile tempting every women who see him. His height is standard for a boy at his age, his body is slender but a bit muscular that matches with his handsome face.

The handsome boy's running stopped when the traffic lights showed a red light, that's when he saw his own messy appearance, even his belt is still not properly attached. When he was tidying his appearance, he accidentally saw the watch used by a man next to him who was also waiting for the traffic lights.

“Ah ffu ….” The handsome boy almost said rude word because panicking.

Suddenly he disappeared without a trace, just disappeared as if he didn’t exist. But no one who saw it surprised because it’s normal, lot of people have special abilities nowadays.

Wardenlicht, one of six major region of Neo-Atlantis, is located in northwest and become the second largest region after Andestia. In Wardenlicht, there are two special schools established by the world alliance.

North Warden Academy or NWA in short, is one of two special school in Wardenlicht. NWA is a combination of junior high school and senior high school for student who have special abilities from all around the world.

“Huft, save!” the handsome boy teleported into school backyard. He walked casually like he didn't do anything because no one saw him.

But unfortunately he was not too lucky because a teacher suddenly appear from back door to caught him.

“Schveir Arthems, how many times do I have to tell you not to use your abilities without permission in school area,” said the teacher firmly. His firmness didn't match with his pale face and thick eye bags.

“Sorry, but I have to or I'll be late.” The handsome boy try to looking for reason.

“Don't make trouble on your first day of high school, Eir. Now go to the hall, opening ceremony is about to start.”

“Okay mister Orea, thanks,” Eir, nickname of the handsome boy, smile happily then rushed to the hall.

Orea, that gloomy teacher, can only sighing.

All NWA students already sit down on their chair, Eir who gets the front seat walk with a big smile, almost everyone in hall know him as The Prince of Olympus, grandson of the Greek God leader’s legacy holder and the only man

who can use almost all type of mythical and science phenomenon in the world.

When the teacher who became the Master of Ceremony advanced to the podium, every student who had been talking was immediately silent. Opening speech from the school principal followed by the student council president went well, then the host announces additional speech from new student representatives.

"Let's us welcome, Schveir Arthems."

Eir looked left and right, he was not informed about this, but he already get up and facing back to recpect bow in the direction of the students and respect bow once again in the direction of the teachers. His manner and confidence is very high, his charming smile make many girls almost screaming hysterically.

Eir went to the podium without hesitation.

“Ehm,” Eir tidied up his collar.

“Hello guys, I don’t know what should I say, it seems like I don't need to introduce myself either. Maybe all I can say now is … let's enjoy school,” he said excitedly, once again he smile widely.

Loud applause heard from the students, some students even whistled.

Eir waving his hand before stepping down from the podium. The host immediately announced the last speech.

“And for the final speech, let's welcome, Lord Gradinos Arthems.”

The students whispered loudly, even some teacher look surprised. Basically, the name just mentioned is the legacy holder of the highest Greek god Zeus and grandfather of Schveir Arthems. Eir who had just returned to his seat was not surprised, he already knew.

The coming of Gradinos Arthems, leader of the Olympia alliance, an alliance of legacy holder of the Greek mythology, make this year a special year for NWA. Usually the last welcome speech at the beginning of new school year is only attended by representatives of certain alliances, not the main member of alliance.

The appearance of Gradinos from backstage make the hall atmosphere feel solemn, no one dare to talk. Even though he is over seventy years old, he still has a large and muscular body, truly similar to the god he inherited. His

appearance is very similar to Zeus with white hair and long beard, but he wears a suit to look more human.

Before Gradinos starting his speech, he glance at Eir. Of course Eir responded with a big smile so that his grandfather was happy, the only reason his grandfather agree to be invited by the school is because of Eir.

Without Eir, the school would not be able to present a figure as big as Gradinos.

After the welcoming ceremony, all new students are advised to go to their classes. In highschool classroom 1-1, Eir became the center of attention, everyone wants to be friends with him even students from other classes. His high spirits and friendly nature make the classroom atmosphere more cheerful.

But not everyone likes Eir.

Those who don't like him are students who feel that Eir is spreading his fame even though he's already famous, but no one of them brave enough to bother Eir, they know Eir is the strongest man alive. It was common knowledge that Eir was even stronger than the legacy holder of all mythological legends.

One of few people who didn't like Eir came to Eir's attention, she is the quiet girl who sits in the corner of classroom. Eir know her and of course the quiet girl knew Eir, not acquainted directly but because Eir was known by all NWA middle and high school students.

Eir wants to say hello but it’s not possible at this time.

Until finally school time ends, all students are free to go home. When the quiet girl wear her scarf then walk out from classroom, Eir immediately said goodbye to the students who were around him.

Eir tried to chase her along the corridor.

“Hey wait!” Eir called the quiet girl but she’s not responded.

Eir ran not too fast to catch up to the quiet girl.

“Wait please,” ask Eir.

Finally the quiet girl stopped but someone suddenly interrupt.

She is a very pretty girl, her jet-black hair beautifully unraveled. She’s blocking Eir who wants to approach the quiet girl. When the quiet girl looked back, at that moment suddenly the beautiful girl with black hair stood on tiptoes to kiss Eir's lips.

The quiet girl and everyone who happened to see that scene surprised, even Eir himself.

“Wha-what was that?” Eir stepped back.

“Greetings, prince Arthems.”

The beautiful girl saluted by lifting the side of her skirt then nodded slightly, like a welcome from a noblewoman. The quiet girl put on an annoyed face then walk away quickly.

The confused Eir couldn't prevent the quiet girl from leaving, but Eir also can't be angry at the beautiful girl in front of him. Because Eir know who she is.

“What you doing, Kaguya Mitsurugi?”

“Just welcoming you,” the beautiful girl named Kaguya Mitsurugi showing a sweet smile from her red lips.

“I mean, why you do that?” Eir touch his lips.

“Do what?” Kaguya teased Eir.

“Ki-kiss, why you suddenly kiss me?”

“Like I said, welcoming you.”

Eir confused what else to say. Kaguya approach Eir for whispering.

"She's a devil, it's better if you don't approach her.”

Kaguya step back, smile again then just leaving Eir who is still confused.

"How was your first day at school?" Gradinos asked his grandson who sit next to him in his private limousine that parked in school parking lot.

"I have lot of fun, very nice," Eir answer with a smile so as not to make his grandfather worry.

"That's good. Grandpa will return now, take care of yourself,” Gradinos ruffled Eir's hair.

“Be careful on your way, Gramps.”

Eir got out of the car then waved as his grandfather's car left.

Set aside the surprise he got from Kaguya, nothing bad happen to Eir today, but Eir felt something was lacking. Eir feel … lonely.

Everyone's views on him have not changed even since he was in middle school, they always tried to approach him, but Eir still felt an invisible barrier. Eir feels so distant with everyone.

Even so, Eir still smile at two student who greet him.

Eir chose to return to his apartment on foot, although he could arrive in a flash with teleportation skills. Eir wants to calm his mind by walking down the streets of North Warden.

Wardenlicht was peaceful, everyone in this city lived a normal life, no different from other cities in various place of the world. Eir couldn’t imagine that twenty years ago entire Neo-Atlantis became the last battleground against the evil, the final war to defend humanity and all who live in this world.

Eir continued walking, but the direction changed. Eir didn’t head to his apartement, he just wanna walk without thinking about destination.

Sometimes, some people greet him. Eir has lived alone at North Warden for the past years, that's why more people know him.

Besides being known as grandson of Gradinos Arthems the Zeus, Eir is also known as son of the lost hero Azazil the First Fallen. Although the status of his father's heroism is still debated until this day because Azazil himself is evil personification.

What's more, a mysterious incident that occurred five years after the last war and gave rise to the second Moon was made by Eir and his parents.

Eir stopped walking when he see a child who goes hand in hand with his parents.

“Mom, dad,” Eir smiles but his heart feel hurt.

Eir looked at the clear sky, try hard to held back his tears.

“I miss you so bad.”

Eir arrived at the border between North Warden, South Warden and East Warden at dusk. Wardenlicht consists of three main districts, the north, the south and the east. The three districts are separated by Ristria river which separates three districts of Wardenlicht.

After Eir buy soda from vending machine, he sit in a bench facing riverbank. Afternoon atmosphere at the Garden of Three Warden was quite crowded by youngster and some families with children.

“Huh! No time for sadness, I must remember what I say myself,” Eir opened his can of soda then drink quickly. He try to be positive.

He look at the sky once again.

Moon and Ionia, two satellites of Earth began to appear at the end of dusk. Although faint, the scenery presented is really beautiful, this is why Garden of Three Warden is a favorite place to enjoy afternoon.

But then, smile on Eir's lips is gone. Eir feel uneasy, something is not right.

Eir squeezed an empty soda can then thrown right into trash bin. Eir walked fast along the river side, he try to find ‘something’ that he feel.

After quite far from the park area, Eir felt a supernatural flow coming from the urban forest.

To fulfill his curiosity, Eir entered the forest which was part of East Warden district. Wardenlicht urban forest is not too wide, but it’s dense enough that the middle part of forest is cannot be seen from the main road.

And that's where Eir sees someone cornered by two people with school uniform, the man holding a bow and the women holding a spear.

“Stop!” Eir leaps forward to protect the people who are cornered.

But then confusion occurred because the person protected by Eir suddenly ran away.

“What you doing! He’s a dangerous criminal!”

“Wh-what?”

“Chase him!”

Those two person quickly chase the criminal. Eir reflexively joined the chase.

But onfortunately they fail to track the criminal when enter East Warden area, the criminal is gone, he ran so fast with his abilities.

"You ruined our job!" bow-holder person snapped. He grab Eir's collar.

"Massoud, do you know who he is?" the women with spears tried to calm the man.

"I know,” Massoud looked at Eir angrily.

“He is Schveir Arthems!”

“I don’t care even though he’s Prince of Olympus, he is the one who puts innocent people in danger.”

"You can get angry at him later, it's better if we now ask for help from headquarters."

Eir was speechless knowing his mistake.

“Okay, I’ll contact headquarter now,” Massoud take his hands off Eir's collar then take his cellphone.

“I’m sorry, I will help you to catch that criminal,” Eir volunteered.

“It’s alright prince Arthems, we can handle it. And I apologize for his rude behavior,” the spear-wielding woman say softly.

Eir bite his lips. Knowing that Eir felt very guilty, the spear-wielding woman introduced herself to calm Eir a little.

“We are third year student of South Warden Highschool and alliance trainees. My name is Seulgi Hyeon-Ju and he is Khalid Massoud.”

“I am Schveir Arthems, you already know who I am,” Eir forced himself to smile.

“Hyeon, help is on the way. We leave first,” Massoud asked Seulgi without care for Eir.

“Hey, I can help.”

"Whatever," Massoud start to run.

Seulgi looks at Eir and smile.

“Let’s go prince Arthems.”

“Just call me Eir, senior.”

“Okay, but don’t call me ‘senior’. Seulgi is enough.”

They both began chasing Massoud.

“I’ll try to track him down with my abilities,” Eir tell Seulgi.

“Ah, I almost forget if you can use all type of abilities.”

“But don't expect much, I'm not very skilled in some support ability like this.”

In the midst of search for criminals, Eir uses an ability from Esper, an Electroscanner. With those science type abilities, Eir can track every life source within a hundred meter radius.

“We must find him as fast as possible before he hurt someone, we rely on you, Schveir,” said Massoud without looking back.

Seulgi whispers to Eir.

“I hope you not mad at him, actually he is good person.”

“I know,” Eir smiling with relief.
