Wow this place is so nice and clean. Far from the usual description of Manila. It is so nice in here.

Is it your first time being in Manila? This part is the high end. Not all places are like this, and traffic is bad so you have to be early always.
Tanya
Yes it is indeed my first time in Manila and be on this kind of place, that is why I get amazed easily.

Be alert, stop looking around just like what you are doing right now. Better keep your bag in front so you will be aware of snatchers. Remember don't be stupid.

At first this place is pleasing to the eye but later on all you will see is the negatives in it.

So these 3 buildings are hiring, by 6 am applicants are lining up here already, so they will be the first one to be interviewed and by 7' o'clock is the cut-off, see you still have 10 minutes. You better line up so you won't get late. Good luck.

The queue is so long, I'm one of those applicants close to the end. I'm sweaty when I entered the building, they are taking our height, looks like they need tall people at the casino. I told the HR personnel that I'm applying to the marketing department. They want me at the casino because I'm tall fortunately they saw my age is 20 which is not allowed yet to work at the casino. They are taking applicants starting at age 21 in there. They gave me documents to fill up to and ask for some Identification card. Which I have prepared since last night
After a while, it is my turn for the interview. The interviewer didn't give me a hard time. He only asked for personal data and some of my personal views. There is nothing to be anxious about. He also told me I can start on Monday, our office is on the 3rd floor, 2nd building beside the parking lot.

This place is so beautiful. I'm gonna work here. I feel like I belong to this place at the very moment I step on it.
episode 2- office girl
The interview was fast, and so is the result. I wanna tell the good news to my parents right away and celebrate, I wanna share my happiness right now.
Marco
How was your interview Tanya?
Tanya
I get in. I already have a job. Come over here I'm gonna treat you for a meal.
Marco came, with his backpack on. I'm so happy seeing him I wanna treat him at the fast-food chain close by. The one with a clown mascot. You'd been there for sure.
Marco
Don't order too much for me. Just burger and water.
Tanya
I won't I will just add some fries on your order plus soda. The rest is for my cousins, I want them to taste my treat as well.
Marco
I can't go back home yet Tanya. I will tell you what jeepney signage you should take to get home. It's easy so you don't have to worry, be calm then everything will be alright. My workmate wants me to cover his duty. I need the money so I'll take it.
Tanya

We separate ways after our meal. Thank God I made it home, I shared the good news to my cousins. I also informed my parents in the province they are so happy for me.
episode 3- new employee
So this is how it is to be working. I'm learning a lot from the office. I came early in the morning smiling so wide from ear to ear greeting everybody good morning. Now my jaw is tired from grinning so I rest it for a while. My senior Ms Trisha taught me of my work duties, but now she asks me to give coffee from one employee to another so I end up as a coffeemaker for today. Hopefully I can help more tomorrow.
I was so tired when I get home. I've been to this place for two weeks. While I'm walking on my way home, the bystanders approached me, they asked me to join them for a drink. I rejected them nicely. I smiled a little bit and try to leave. Somehow one of them grabbed my hand, I felt a little scared. It's 7 in the evening there are still other people around I can shout in the worst case scenario. Good thing my angel came and called for my name.
Marco
Hey Tanya, what are you doing there? It's time to eat, your cousins are waiting for you. Let's go.
Tanya
Thanks God you came, I was so scared. I don't know how to leave them. I said no, but they are still bugging me.
Marco
Next time when you say no, just push them far away from you, coz if you just smile and greet them nicely like what you are doing. They will keep on coming at you like some zombies at the Walking Dead, you know. Because when you are smiling they thought you like them. Smile is like affirmation, if you push them away, then you run, and then you shout. Some good people next to our houses will help you. That's what you need to do. Keep it on your mind.
Tanya
I'm scared I will hurt their ego. I don't want them to get mad, you know. As much as possible I want to be friends with everybody, so they won't chase me around mad at me just because I didn't smile at them or talk to them.
Marco
You don't wanna be friends with those assholes. Just wait for a month or two they will end up in jail for some crimes you can't imagine, possibly a murder or rape. I don't want you to be their victim. So be smart Tanya. Be smart. Stupid people have no place in the squatters area.
Tanya
You are emotionally exaggerated. Chill out nothing happened.
Marco
Don't wait until something happened. You'll regret it.
Tanya
I think if I treat them nicely they won't hurt me coz we have emplied friendship, you know.
Marco
The more you smile at them the more they thought that you like them. These people don't recognize friendships. All they know is alcohol, cigarettes, drugs. With you around wearing nice clothes and smiling face maybe they will taught of something else.
Tanya
I never thought your mind is so cynical. So scary. But I will bear that in mind.
Marco
That's how life is here. The earlier you learn that the better. Don't trust anybody.
Tanya
