At the darkest days of my life I was drifting faraway from the light My thoughts were dark and shaded I asked myself do I still have a reason to stay? I paused for a bit and the answer was none I asked again is there someone who loves me? I paused again and the answer was no one. The blade was cold but I'm used to it. I slid it down, three strokes is done The liquid came out, it was red and warm I laughed at the irony but I felt no harm the well of tears had long been dried For these eyes had wept for so many times The voice is hoarse and my throat is dry For I've spent days repenting and hoping for a new life Then one day a stranger came by He held my hand and then he smiled It was beautiful and I felt warm I knew he's different from everyone He talked to me for a while He listened to my cries He held me so tight He saved my poor little heart Now I'm bound to a promise Never to lose hope and never to go back in the dark Never to hold a knife and spill some of my blood This is the promise that's keeping me alive
