Granny's daughter

Jose was Granny's most beloved granddaughter. Lucy was her mom who was Granny's daughter. But Jose was so much loved by her Granny, so she always followed her Granny everywhere.

Lucy was a primary school teacher at a high school and therefore she did not spend much time with her daughter Jose. Meanwhile Jose went to Kindergarten with her friends and her Granny dropped and picked her up everyday.

Jose was intimate with her Granny rather than her own mother. Jose always called her mom by her name imitating her mother's siblings. Jose was a quiet girl who opened up only to her Granny.

Jose went with her Granny to her orchards and vegetable garden on holidays. She made friends with only few people and talked rarely and never smiled......

Jose loved to listen to Granny's stories and songs . Granny always sang folksongs and narrated folktales, to her granddaughter.

Granny had so many friends and she always took her granddaughter to visit them.They would talked about old times and drank rice beer making Merry.

Jose had always loved the company of her Granny's friends , she adjusted so well with elderly people and they pampered her. She had never played with her friends because she rarely went out of the house.

Jose always got the first position for everything in her Kindergarten ,this was the only time she would get a reward from her mother whom she regarded as an elder sister.

One day the Kindergarten organized a function on which everyone had to bring along their parents, Jose brought her Granny. Lucy never even knew her daughter had a function of this sort.

Lucy was away from home teaching in the town while Jose and her Granny were in the countryside. Jose had never thought of bringing her mother to see her competitions.

Jose had won so many prizes at such a young age , everyone regarded her as a genius. Jose was indeed a genius despite the fact that no one was there to guide her at home. Her Granny being old and fragile.

Granny never forgot to pick her granddaughter after class. They would go to her orchard after class to pluck fruits, sell them and buy their daily necessities. Though Lucy would send money once in a month, they could easily make their ends meet.

Jose had always loved to eat Apples, and asked her Granny for buying them whenever her Granny asked what she wanted to eat. Jose shared her Apples with her Granny and one of her childhood friend, who was also a neighbour.

Granny loved to smile which made Jose also to smile once she sees her but Jose always seems to be lost in her own thoughts, when she was with others. Granny was friendly and was therefore popular among the people as the best good- natured Grandmother.

Lucy came back to her hometown only for vocations and emergencies. Despite this Jose doesn't seem to be bothered much by this.

Jose smiled and replied only when people asked her something. She seemed to be quite different from her mother and Granny who were both sunny and talkative.
