A life full of hustle-bustle,
With a little bit of glitter and gold..
Filled with moments of happy and alone..
Having an undying attitude of brave and bold..
Leading the life of Ruby seemed really easy,
And as exciting as ever,
But only if one knew,
The things that were never told...
Falling for her sister's boyfriend was never Ruby's plan...
Day dreaming about him as every minute passed by, was neither a part of her plan..
Yet here she was, as lost as ever,
In thoughts of having,
A happy future with him forever...
She shut down her desires, before it gets too late
She buries down her love, before they get engaged to one another...
She felt disgusted to desire a committed man, not forgetting about the fact - him being her sister's fiance,
But she couldn't help herself from
Falling too hard for him...
So hard that she could never tolerate someone insulting him, so hard that she could go to any lengths to make him happy...
She feels as if she's the villain of her sister's love story, but only if she knew every single truth...
Finally with a heavy heart, Ruby decided to forget about him, but destiny seemed to have other plans...

Chapter 1
Ruby Jane
(sleeping peacefully)
I felt sunlight peeping into my room, damn is it morning already?!
I turned over and looked at Tia who's admiring the city through the window
Ruby Jane
Close the curtains Tia!
Tia Jane
oh come on get up Ruby!
She said walking towards me now
I glanced at the time, it's f*cking 6am right now!
Ruby Jane
Are you serious?!
Ruby Jane
It's still 6, let me sleep and get the hell outta here
I whisper-yelled and turned back to sleep
Tia Jane
No more sleeping now, you've got work
She stated pulling my blanket off of me.. this girl won't ever let me sleep peacefully

I'm not done sleeping yet, go away!
I really do love sleeping, why can't anyone understand that! I thought to myself
I sighed anyways and got up from the bed making my way towards the bathroom
Though I'm the elder sister among us, but Tia can really be a mom

People think they can own the world, how stupid of them!
(giggled and shook his head)

How can they own the world, when they can't even own the day ?
He walked up to his gigantic window and pulled open the curtains

He said sipping his coffee with a slight smirk playing on his lips
Our parents died in a car accident 15 years ago when they went to attend some business party, leaving us at home with grandma
The news of them passing away didn't settle well with grandma, she got heart - attack and left us all alone
Our relatives weren't interested in taking care of us, so we both had to live on our own
I was 13 at that time and Tia was only 9, yet we tried our best to lead a normal happy life
We did fairly good in our universities and got well settled, me being an interior designer and Tia became a journalist.. I'm really proud of her
I love my profession and so does she
It was really hard to live without parents and we exactly know how terrible we felt when we saw other's parents giving them love
We cried to sleep some nights, and at times we just felt like giving up everything and going back to our parents and into their arms away from this cruel world..but that's not how life works right
It's been a year now since we bought this new house for us with our hard earned money and now I can say we're somewhat leading a peaceful life
I heard a knock on the door and snapped out of my thoughts, it's been 20 mins I'm in the shower, she's really gonna kick my a** now
I hurried up and grabbed a towel wrapping it around my body, I opened the door only to see a furious Tia standing in front of me with her hands folded
I smiled and walked past her completely ignoring her poker face
I dried my body and started applying lotion to my skin when I heard her say
Tia Jane
Can you be anymore childish ?
I looked at the lotion in my hands and then back at her
Ruby Jane
Is applying lotion considered childish?
I asked giggling, she sighed and continued
Tia Jane
Breakfast's kept in the kitchen, have it before you leave
She looked at her wrist watch and frowned
Tia Jane
I'm leaving, Blake might be here anytime soon
I nodded and she kissed me on the cheek before she left
I put on my shirt and made coffee for myself
I walked up to the window and stared at them
Blake hugged Tia upon seeing her and kissed her on the lips, I turned my gaze away
It's just this missing in my life right now..
Ruby Jane
I love him so much
I whispered as I closed my eyes
I then looked back and saw them driving away
Before they passed from my sight, I saw Tia's happy smiling face, I smiled to myself
I've never seen her this happy with someone, and if her happiness costs my happiness so then be it!
Her happiness is everything to me, much more important than my love
Blake's face appeared in my mind, I sighed
The real question is not when will I get over him? the real question is how do I ever get over him?!
Since childhood Tia and I had the same opinions, same tastes, same preferences.. I never knew it would reach to this point that we would love the same guy
I laughed to myself and saw the time
I gasped as I have only 10 mins to get ready, dragging out all the unnecessary thoughts off my head, I dressed up and left for my work
Chapter 2
Sitting in my cabin, I watched her as she plopped on the couch, looking into her phone while sipping on her beverage
Tia Jane
Stop staring already!
She said, her eyes still immersed in her phone
I laughed and called out to her
She stood up and walked towards me
Making her sit on my lap, I looked at her intently
This woman not only managed to make me smile but also made me do things I never thought I could do for someone
It's been a year we started dating, but it still feels the same way
I just needed a safe escape from my daily work routine and that's how I got Tia, but now I no longer think it's a safe escape anymore
She started to break my walls and entered my heart as easily as ever
I said and she looked up at me nearly choking on her beverage
I rubbed her back and she started to get back normal
She stammered, I laughed at her cuteness

I love you and I want to marry you
I say stroking her cheek, she looks down, her eye lashes flutter

Do I take that as a yes?
I ask her again, placing my index finger under her chin, raising her head this time
She looks at me and nods shyly, a big smile makes it way to my very own lips
At the head office of "Your Own Space"
Ruby has been working in this interior designing company for years now, and has always been known as the most potential and hardworking one

Jake sat beside Ruby as he grinned at her, she flicked his forehead before saying

Stop calling me that!

Sometimes I think you forget I'm your supervisor

Not that I forget but you're no strict at all to remember about that either

(raised her eyebrow)

I guess I need to get stricter?
Jake
hehe no I was just kidding
Ruby Jane
Anyways, I was talking about this...
It was past 6pm when Ruby finally got home after an exhausting day
Jake definitely keeps annoying Ruby but not to ignore the fact that it's cuz of him she laughs most of the time at the office
She sat on the couch and opened her laptop to finish her pending work for the day
A few minutes passed by, when Tia came back home and plopped on the couch beside Ruby
Tia whispered almost going back to sleep, Ruby giggled

so no details today?
Ruby asked further still focussing on her laptop
It felt weird for Ruby that Tia didn't pounce on her with all of the details of today's events, but she soon shrugged it off.. maybe her sister's really tired, she thought
When finished with her work, Ruby closed her laptop and got up to grab a bottle, but the next thing Tia said, got Ruby to well up tears in her eyes

Blake proposed me
She stood still as the words left Tia's mouth, hitting Ruby's every cell with consciousness, reminding her yet again to get out of her dreamland and into the reality
The words registered into her brain and her heart was ready,
To give up at any moment
