Two Parallel Worlds Connected By An Ability
Episode 1
In the city of Yokohama, lies within a mystery. The mystery are the Ability users.
Ability users are people that are born with supernatural powers. No one knows how it chooses people, it is completely random.
Some may call these abilities a blessing, some may call it a curse.
The perfect example of a person that finds their ability a curse is Dazai Osamu. A former Demon Prodigy and an ex-executive of the Port Mafia.
His ability is ‘No Longer Human’. It is an ability that can nullify other abilities by touch or physical contact. The only reason he finds it as a curse is because it makes him, ‘not human’.
Being human is being able to feel pain, right? Unfortunate for him, he doesn’t feel any. Even if he does, it wouldn’t work on him. He envies the people who are human.
But then he met a friend, someone who isn’t afraid of him because of his title or position. Their name is Oda Sakunosuke.
Oda used to be an high rank assassin for the mafia, but then completely stopped thus lowering his rank to bottom. Dazai find it odd of course, but he finds it intriguing, he also wants to become his friend.
But then an bad incident happened. Oda broke his pledge of not killing because a leader of an organization who seeks death, killed the kids Oda was looking after. Of course, it made Oda mad but he doesn’t showed it.
Dazai knows what Oda was up to and went to try and save him, but It was already too late. Dazai saw Oda was laying on the ground while bleeding. Dazai ran after him and tells Oda to keep his eyes open, but Oda doesn’t want to.
Dazai stubbornly tries to refuse Oda’s wish, but Oda persistently made Dazai listened.
Unsure, Dazai hesitates, but asked Oda what’s his going to do now. Oda gave him a smile and tells him that if he’s trying to search for the meaning of life through the dark and bloodshed, he won’t find it.
Dazai narrowed his eyes, asking how does he know. Oda gave him a soft smile, saying his last words as, “Of course I would know, I am your ...friend.” He murmured as he took his final breath. His hands went limp as the Bandages on Dazai’s face went loose. It was the first time he felt a little bit humane.
At the same time in a different universe and world, the same thing happened, but different words were uttered out.
Few years after the incident.
Dazai received a message from his ex-partner and the other half of Double Black, Nakahara Chuuya.
