That’s it for today guys make sure you read this” said Mr Rodriguez. I wished that I should have paid attention to what he said that day.

“Jack!” my mom called out because dad was waiting outside to drop me off to my first day as a high school senior.

It was after the vacation. When I came back, my friends were waiting for me. Jason was fun guy of the group or so he thought and his girlfriend was my oldest friend, Sarah O’Brien. She was exactly opposite of Jason; that is nice and sweet.  

We had known each other since 5 grade and she always protected me, and was always there for me. And at last Sam, he was the nice guy of the group.

That day we stayed up all night and talked and Jason had heard a rumour about a house that was abandoned for decades, people told him that the house belonged to a Dutch family and no one goes near it.   

Jason suggested that we should check out the place but Sam disagreed he said “there are things we shouldn’t mess with”.

But I agreed with Jason as even I was fascinated by these scary things. Sam was my best friend so I made him agree too.

So, tomorrow morning we got ready to go to the house. We had flash light, candle and many other things. But Sam still persuaded us to go in the morning or we were planning at the night.

When we arrived at the gate a chill went up from my toes to my head it was like my soul was telling me not to go but I thought of it as a feeling of excitement and I think so did the others.

The floor was made up of wood so it made a faint sound while walking. We were thinking of staying there till the afternoon. Others came for fun but I came hoping for a real ghost or some thing.

In my history class our sir  Rodriguez told about types of spirits and how real they are and what were the of ways to call or send them away. I brought all the voodoo stuff like the Ouija board and candles and stuff.

After we spend some time inside, I asked them to play the Ouija board. So I brought it out and we all sat in circle.

First chance was Sarah’s, she put her finger on the board and asked “are you here Mr ghost”. But it didn’t move, they said “we knew it was a fake”.

 But when I tried moving it wouldn’t move, even the others couldn’t remove it and when somehow, we removed it, we saw it was stuck on yes and the continuous sound started again which we thought someone of our own made.

Seeing this, other started to get scared. After some time, Sam Snapped and ran towards the main door. When he opened it there was a terrified look on his face.

Then I saw that at that time there was night even though we were barely 30 minutes there. Before I could think, I noticed that Sarah was missing I told the guys about that, then Sam decided to come with me to find her. Jason said that he will get help from outside.

Then me and Sam walked through that door slowly calling her name with a trembling voice. When we were in the living room there was an attic that led to the rooms.

We saw someone there that was not Sarah it was a woman; we only saw her half face she had a pale dark skin and black hair and a little smaller than us in size. Suddenly Sarah came from the back, it startled us.

She was completely fine, we asked what happened to her, she without any hesitation said “l got lost”. But something was not fine, at that moment we couldn’t think of anything.

Then Sam said suspiciously “when we came here you were scared like hell and now suddenly, you’re not”. I also noticed and even though Jason was a jerk he would never leave Sarah alone.

Then Sarah suddenly started laughing and said in a different voice “that was not fun” and she suddenly got dragged into the attic by two hands. Sam held my hand and started to run towards the door and when we open the door the other was a room even though it was the main door.

And suddenly I realized Sam started to tremble in fear. I what happened he said “this is my room”. I started shaking him, saying in a loud voice “what is happening, man? What is happening?”.

 Sam said in confidence “nothing, nothing is going to happen?”. After a few seconds I calmed myself down and said “we should find Jason and Sarah first”, Sam agreed and said “let’s get out of here”.

When we opened the door again it brought us to the kitchen the door to living room was right around the corner. We slowly walked there; the Ouija board was still there Sam said “how is this happening?” I replied “it’s probably a poltergeist or you can an evil spirit”.

 Sam said

“I have never heard a poltergeist can be that powerful”

I said “there is no time for this, he also said that the way to kill a poltergeist is to burn its bones”

“so we have to find its dead body now”. Then I decided to split but Sam disagreed where its bones were or if they existed at all.

Suddenly we heard Jason’s voice, we ran towards the door from which it came, inside the room Sarah was holding a picture of someone saying “you did it, you killed her” and Jason was shouting “no, I didn’t do it”.

 While that was happening, we were shouting at Jason but he couldn’t hear us. Suddenly Sarah smiled and, turned into a bunch of big spiders and they devoured Jason alive in front of us. While I was shouting, Sam got to his senses and took me out of there.

I said “I am sorry” because somewhere in my heart I felt guilty, because I was the one who made Sam come here. Sam told me and said “it’s alright, I never thought you would say that”.

After a while, I thought that I have to save Sam and Sarah at all costs. I told Sam that he should get out of here and call for help because Jason never actually left.

After all this, we knew this much that the ghost can Change its form and look like others and it can create illusions and make them real.

Sam said “you know what it did, last time when tried to get out of here” for some reason Sam didn’t wanted to tell me about what happened to him in his room. But I was more traumatised by what happened to Jason, so I couldn’t ask.

As we walked through that nightmare, I remembered that first day I met Sam. It was the first day of high school in history class, there was a silent kid, was eating alone in the cafeteria and Jason being Jason tried to approach him but

he said

 “sorry, I have to go” and then I came to him and said “sorry for Jason, he is a jerk but if you want you can join us”.

He said “no, I am fine” and I knew that he was hiding his true self for some reason.

 I asked him “if you want to be alone, I have no problem but just know we won’t mind having another friend”. From that day he was always with us.

A voice came to me saying “Jack, help me”. Sam didn’t notice that I was left behind. I was going to call out his name but I suddenly realised that it was Sarah’s voice, I ran towards the door it came from and opened it and the other side was a road and there was a car on that road that place and the car looked familiar somehow. Then I slowly started to walk towards the other side of the road and I found a dead body.
