Staring at the white ceiling above her head, Rutharia smiled to herself as she hummed a small tune. She wasn't happy but she wasn't sad. Today was the day she became eighteen but, unfortunately no one cared.
She'd often dream of having a normal life with a loving boyfriend, family who cared about her, and friends she could have fun and do teenager stuff with.
Pinching herself, Rutharia frowned when she realized she had been thinking too much about something that probably wouldn't happen in her current life.
Staring through the small window. She watched as the birds flew from limb to limb on each tree. She couldn't help the envy that built up her heart watching this. She'd probably never touched a tree before. She wished that she could be like the bird someday. She'd soar higher and higher in the sky to see where life would take her.

On the first floor of the 4 story house in Yang's Villa, Reagan suddenly frowned. He had been out on business earlier in the morning and happened to see a teenage girl. She reminded him of Rutharia, and how cruel he was to have kept her locked up for all these years.
"Honey, what are you thinking?" His wife, Beth asked pulling him away from his thoughts.
"Did you ever think we were too evil to have kept Rutharia locked away?" Reagan was a little hesitant to ask, but he still did in the end.
Beth discreetly rolled her brown eyes. She had been living her best life these past years. She went from riding in a Corolla to cruising on a Yacht as soon as Rutharia was locked away. She even forgot that she existed!
"Do not think too much about it dear. We are only protecting her from the evil people outside in the world. Don't you know what people think when seeing someone like her?" Beth deliberately lowered her voice and rubbed his arm as she spoke.
"She turns eighteen today. I think she can speak for herself" Reagan replied
"Just because she's eighteen doesn't mean she's mature enough" Beth replied as she caught a glimpse of Robyn walking down the stairs.
"Hurry up! Don't speak such nonsense when Robyn arrives"
Beth was speaking in hushed tones for the simple fact that she did not want her beloved daughter to be upset, especially since today was her 'birthday'.
"Dad, I want 2 Channel bags, 2 Birkin bags and a Louis Vuitton purse" No good Morning, no nothing. Robyn just cut straight to the chase.
Reagan stared at her for a moment before he snorted. She seemed to have forgotten that today wasn't her real birthday. When Reagan and his wife was still together, he had commited adultery at the same time she was pregnant. His cheating with Beth led to Robyn who came 6 months after Rutharia was born.
For the sake of his reputation, he locked Rutharia away when he realized she was just like her mother's side of the family. His image was more important to him than anything, so he had Robyn play the roll of Rutharia.
"Have you suddenly caught amnesia?"
"Dad, what are you implying?" Robyn frowned at his statement. She wasn't stupid. She knew he had an attitude, judging from the look of disdain displayed on his face.
"No nothing at all. It's how you're studying to become an actress but don't have an ounce of acting skills. Ironic, isn't it?" Reagan glared at her. Frowning as he spoke, Robyn hurriedly hung the phone up before her friend could hear anything more.
"Anyways, the Marchetti's wanted our daughter to model for their company on a six months contract. Obviously, Gambino knows about our affair from years ago, so they ask us to present both our daughters" Reagan announced, wiping the corners of his mouth that was stained with crust from the apple pie.
"Just tell them that Rutharia is living with an aunt out in the country" Beth made an excuse
"I think it's full time she had a tour of the world" Reagan sat in deep thought before he hurriedly waved one of the servants over.
"Open the door to room 07"

Inside the mansion of the Marchetti's, Mr and Mrs Marchetti were debating on brides for their youngest son. Surely, the older ones weren't married nor engaged as yet. But, Giannis was walking around toying with other people's daughter and that wasn't a good look on their name.
Their reputation was on the line, for every day of the week, they'd have another young lady complaining about their son's behavior.
"Giannis, your father and I have decided to arrange your wedding as soon as possible. You're in no position to object because you're tarnishing our name!"
Arabelle Marchetti said sternly which made Giannis clench his fist at his sides. There was no doubt that Giannis loved his mother. He just didn't like to be in the same place she was every day of the week for she was just too controlling. Arabelle love to have things her way and if she couldn't, she would find a way to manipulate him to get him to agree with her terms.
His father on the other hand, Gambino Marchetti allowed him to live his life the way he wanted without interfering. He, himself was a player back in the days so he had experience in that field. Gambino knew that sooner or later a young lady would swoop him off the high throne he was sitting on, so he didn't ponder too much about it.
"Mom, I'm 23 not 50. I think I can decide if I'm ready to get married or not" Giannis replied through gritted teeth.
"You have the audacity to be talking back to me! Get out of my house" Arabella yelled out in anger.
"Dad" Giannis gave Gambino a head nod before walking out the house. Taking his cellphone from his pocket, he dialed his driver's number before instructing.
"Pick me up at 2 pm by the office and find me an apartment to stay for three weeks"
On the other line, Beto was wondering what had gotten into the boss for him to be so angry. He must've had a quarrel with Mrs. Marchetti once again!
