Lilac has one goal when it comes to love and that is to find someone ordinary. Lilac spent all her life getting attention whether it be good or bad, it was always there. It's not a surprise that she just wishes to have a ordinary life spent with an ordinary lover.

It seems her plans won't go according to plan when she meets Alaric as he takes interest in her and wants to make her, his mafia queen.

Uhm the word count isn't enough so

"He's here." Diane stared out the window making sure that she wasn't visible too the topic at hand.

I sighed, walking towards her to see out the window. Mike stood there out his car holding a bouquet of roses. Ah the cliche.

I did tell him not to come pick me up, Di." My tired eyes scanned Di faces to see if there was any sign of anger but there was none.

" it's fine as long as you don't make me the third wheel.", giving me an amused look, she walked towards the mirror to check her makeup.

Tonight my manager had decided to throw a party because we landed a big contract. I didn't want to go but when your manager, Mike, askes you to join infront of the whole office you can't help but say yes. Talk about peer pressure at its best.

Diane being the good bestie she was, agreed to my invitation, after some begging on my part of cause.

"How do I look." Di did a pose staring expectantly. She wore a short red sequin dress that looked lovely with her caramel skin, her afro hair was tied into a bun and she went for simple yet attracting makeup. She looked magnificent to say. She never missed an opportunity to look he best, I loved that about her.

"You looking smokin hot!" I sent her a flirterous wink. She squealed as she ran towards me for a tight hug.

"I'd date you with that sexy looking dress.I'm telling, you Mikey boy is gonna have a hard time tonight!"

I on the other hand had a black dress that wrapped around my body and showed my curves.I let my brown hair fall naturally and put on natural looking makeup. I'd date me too.

Deciding not to comment on her little comment there, I picked up my purse and walked towards the door of our apartment. "Could we go, we've been keeping him up for 15 minutes if not more."

Locking the door and walking towards the elevator, we kept up a light conversation until we reached outside.

Spotting us coming, Mike rushed to where we were and greeted Di as I introduced them. Offering me the roses he said,"lilac I know you said you'd come by yourself but I couldn't miss the opportunity to talk to you out of office."

Ahh Mike, it was no secret that he'd been hitting on me ever since I entered work a year ago. Unfortunately for me, that had attracted too much attention and now I was the target of many ladies there. He was that popular. Mike was handsome and all but I just wanted too meet someone that didn't put me on the spot light. I'd had too much of that growing up and I definitely didn't need someone bringing that in our relationship.

Taking the roses awkwardly, I gave him a small smile, "Thank you Mike, I hope you don't mind that I brought my friend with me."

"Not at all. "

Hopping into his car, we drove towards the venue, the D.J.C club. It was by far the most expensive club in there city and I wondered how rich Mike had to be to enter.

Getting out the car we were greeted with a huge line and some colleagues had already been there waiting at the side. We walked towards them.

After greeting everyone, making formal introductions and some glares thrown at me for the fact that Mike and I came together....

" Hey guys. Sorry to keep you waiting, I had something important to do before coming." he sends me a knowingly look showing me that I was the important thing he's talking about.

Walking towards the front line, we earned some glares and envy looks from those in line. The bouncer had a blank face the whole time Mike showed the invitation and let us in.

"I couldn't get a private room so we'll have to find a place to sit."

The place wasn't as jam packed as I thought it would be. We found a table that was big enough too fit all of us. Before we could reach it, Di pulled me backwards making sure that the others were ahead.

" Uh who is that fine man and why have I never heard you talking about him?" she indicated with her eyes towards Jack, a colleague and a friend.

"That fine man is Jake and he already has a girlfriend." I gave her the look, her face fell but a smile graced her in seconds.

"He's not my type and anyways, I just wanted to be his friend." Giving her an "I don't believe you" look, we joined the group.

This little party of ours was made of 15 people including me and Di. Most of them were girls, no surprise there.

After a few drinks and watching how Di made herself comfortable with Jake, I knew she wouldn't try anything funny since she respected committed relationships. I excused myself and walked towards the bar. Those glares were starting to get to me.
