With the sun beginning to rise with mighty glory, sun casting among the lands of The Kingdom of Harumi, animals of all kinds began to wake from their slumber while the busy town was rustling and bustling with noise and laughter, greetings and goodbyes. The hundreds of thousands of trees and mountains held that bright, luminescent sunlight tightly close to their hearts in hopes that the day would be warm and bright. Yet, what was not foreseen was the most heart-breaking death of a mother to 3 children, and a wife to a grand King.
Whilst the noisy town went on with their early morning, a woman by the name of Mizuki was in disgracious pain from labour. Her King, Malaku stood outside the room as the nurses hurried about inside with the wailing and screaming of birth going on. The king had a single arm wrapped around each of two children, going by the names of Prince Yasuharu and Princess Alys.
"Will mother be ok?" asked a quiet, timid voice from the young, 15-year-old prince who was air-tight with fear.
His father gently nodded and patted his head, stroking his hair gently. "She's just right."
"What do you mean by 'just right'?" added in Alys, turned her body to lean and appear between the two, gazing at their father.
"I mean that she's alright, it may be painful, but she's done it before." he smiled a small smile and ruffled up her bright brown, messy hair. Alys wrinkled her nose and sneezed, giggling at their father.
vertime, the screaming grew quieter and less until there was pure silence, pain stinging the air with a father and children in dripping tears.
"You're certain?" King Malaku was talking to one of the women, glancing down at Mizuki nervously several times. While this happened, another of the women shooed the two children from the room, shutting the door behind them.
"Sadly, yes." the woman nodded as she turned her attention to the still Queen, a line of sweat still on her tired face. Malaku wandered over and sat on the edge of the bed, stroking her hair.
"The child?" he asked, not daring to look up.
"Right as anything, your majesty." the woman replied.
"Good. Settle him in my quarters after feeding him, tend to him while I inform the children and Kingdom." he said with a sinking heart, her dull, grey eyes growing dry as they stared upwards and into his own dark, ocean-blue eyes.
The sky grew dark and the wolves began to howl, the monsters of the reigning sorrow and pain and shadows rising up in pride of a new Dawn of opportunity to cause mayhem and chaos.
What will they do? Will they attack or stay at bay for the time being?
The answer lies unknown for this chapter, the sobbing royal family looking down among their new heir with love and pain. You shall find out if you decide to read the next chapter!
