You Can't Run From Me

Party

"It's nice to meet you, Violet" he spoke as he put his hand out. I couldn't help but notice how close his voice sounded to the one in my dream. I stared into his eyes. It's almost like I could see a storm behind them. "Violet, are you okay?" Alex asked, giving me a small nudge, snapped me out of my trance. "Oh, sorry. It's nice to meet you too," I gave him a small smile and put my hand out to shake his. I felt the coldness of his hand. I quickly shook his hand and took my hand away. He smirked at me and then turned back. Alex started the car and started driving.

We sat in uncomfortable silence. I looked out the window, and then the car stopped. I looked out and saw that we were in front of a club. "Um, Alex. I thought we were going to a house party" I looked toward her and she gave me a sly smile. She opened her door and got out and I followed. I grabbed Alex's arm and pulled it so she would look at me."Dammit, Alex. I thought we were just going to a college party, not a club. And we don't even have an ID" I whispered-yelled to her.

"It's okay, Benjamin knows these guys, they'll let us in." She whispers. "Alex, who is that guy anyway? How did you meet him? And why haven't you told me about him?" I asked. She gave me a nervous smile and looked behind me. I looked behind me and saw that she was looking toward Benjamin who had gotten out of the car. She looked back towards me as said. "Well, actually...he's my boyfriend?" It sounded more like a question than an answer. We walked to the club with Benjamin following behind us. I decided to ask her the rest of m questions when we got inside.

There was security standing outside the door and a long line of people. Benjamin walked toward the security guard and said something to him. The guard nodded and opened the door. He motioned us to walk inside so we did. Inside was dark with loud music and flashing lights. There was a bar and a dance floor.

Alex grabbed my arm and headed to the bar while Benjamin went somewhere else. "I'll take a cup of white wine," She said to the bartender. "I'll take a glass of water," I said. I never drunk any alcohol before and I wasn't planning on trying it. The bartender gave us our drinks. "So, how did you meet your boyfriend, and why did you not tell me?" I asked taking a sip of my drink. "Well, I had met him when I had gone out to the market, we ran into each other there and we started talking. He helped me take the groceries back to my car, and the reason why I didn't tell you is that I wanted to wait because I didn't know if he was interested in me." She rushed out.

Well, whatever you say." I turned away from the bar and watched the people dancing.

Something didn't seem right about Alex. She seems so nervous. And her boyfriend was creepy. Yeah, he was attractive but something about him didn't seem right. Alex wasn't someone who cared what people thought about her. She was pretty straight forward which confused me when she said she was scared that he would reject her. Just then Benjamin came to us and asked Alex to dance with him. She grabbed his hand and headed to the dance floor. I watched as they disappeared into the crowd. Alex left her drink on the table which was half full. I sigh, I really didn't want to be here. I was not having fun. I looked at the couples kissing and grinding against each other on the dance floor. In a weird way, it made me which I had a boyfriend. All these people were having fun, smiling, and laughing with each other. My mind went back to Sebastian. I just met him today but I just liked him so much, I wouldn't go as far as saying I love him.

He was handsome and had a smooth voice. His bring green eyes and his soft brown hair. He was nice and funny. I couldn't wait to call him tomorrow so I could show him around. I had to play it cool though; act as though I could barely make it. I sat there for a few more minutes until I finally got tired of it. I walked through a door that said 'exit.' I walked out and realized I was behind the bar in an alley. I leaned against the wall and enjoyed the silence. Oh, how I longed to read a book right now. I then grabbed my headphones which I kept in my purse at all times. I plugged it into my phone and played a song

Remember the moment

You know exactly where you're goin'

'Cause the next moment before you know it

Time is slowin' and it's rolling still

And the windowsill looks really nice, right?

You think twice about your life

It probably happens at night, right?

Fight it, take the pain, ignite it

Tie a noose around your mind

Loose enough to breathe fine and tie it

To a tree tell it, you belong to me, this ain't a noose

This is a leash and I have news for you

You must obey me'

I listened to the song and it made me feel peace. I closed my eyes and relaxed. Probably not a good idea when your in an alleyway, behind a bar, and by yourself. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I quickly opened my eyes. Benjamin was standing there with a smirk on his face. I took my headphones off and looked at him questioningly. "Aren't you suppose to be with Alex?" I asked. "Oh, did she forget to tell you? She went home a while ago, said she wasn't feeling good." He said. What, why would Alex do that, and why didn't she take me. I felt myself growing irritated. How was I suppose to get home, it's not like I had anyone else who could pick me up. Then I thought of Sebastian.

"Hey, I can drive you home," Benjamin said. I gave him a smile and said. "No, it's fine. I'll just get a friend to pick me up. Thanks though," I pulled my phone out and dialed the number, just when I was about to press the call button, I felt his hand go over mine. "No, i'll take you," He said with a look of irritation on his face.

Chapter 1: Icy Blue

Unknown POV

I sat in a nearby cafe carefully watching the store across the street. Cars zoomed by as I waited impatiently for a certain someone to pass by. I tapped my fingers against the wooden table leaning against the chair. I let out a sigh irritated by how long it was taking. A woman's voice snapped me out of my thoughts, "Can I get you anything,"  a woman with blond hair and dark brown eyes asked. She put her hand on the table, leaning towards me giving me a smile. I leaned away, clenching my jaw, "no thank you," I said politely, when I noticed her hand slowly inching towards my hand on the table. I gave her a harsh glare, taking my hand off the table. "Okay, let me know if you need anything," she winked before heading back to the counter.

Disgusting, I thought in my head. I looked out the window once again and finally saw the beautiful brown hair. She's here, I got off my chair and made my way outside the cafe. I looked across the street watching her walk towards the bookstore. Her golden brown hair flowed behind her in gentle waves, with hazel eyes framed by dark glasses. My irritation from before completely vanished once I saw her. She walked into the bookstore, disappearing from my view. I walked across the street putting my hood on while walking into the book store, I carefully avoided her view as I knew exactly which section of the bookstore she would be in. She immediately walked to the fantasy-romance section searching for a new book to read. Shortly after this she would go to the horror-thriller section. I stood on the opposite side of the book shelf watching her through the openings of missing books. Her back faced me as she focused on reading a description of a book. I watched her face, an expression of intrigue showed on her face. Looks like she found a good book, I grinned watching her face light up.

I looked at her beautiful honey brown eyes, with specks of green, the color of grass. I looked at her golden hair that ended just below her shoulders. I looked at her porcelain skin moving my eyes down to her stunning figure. I wished to be able to run my hand down her soft hair, to hold her close to my own body and feel every single one of her curves.

I snapped out of my thoughts the moment I saw her move. She turned around quickly looking at the bookshelf with furrowed eyebrows. I quickly ducked behind the bookshelf, hiding from her. Once she looked away I took that as my cue to leave. I quickly walked out of the bookstore, heading back to my place. I couldn't allow her to see me yet, it wasn't time, there was still so much to do. I pushed by black hair away from my eyes, staring at the dipping sun. Soon she will finally be mine

Violet's POV

It was late afternoon as I walked off campus heading back to my house. Before heading home I stopped at a nearby bookstore. It was my favorite place to go, I walked in and smelt the familiar smell of books and a slight smell of vanilla from a burning candle on the front desk. I pushed my glasses up and headed to the fantasy-romance section. I'll admit that I do love reading romance stories, it gives me hope that I might have one of my own. Not only that but the mix of fantasy or supernatural makes it better. I loved to imagine things that others thought of as impossible, it created a more interesting world for me. I smiled at the thought and scanned through the different books, gliding my finger over the spine of the books. I finally spotted one, just by the cover alone it caught my attention.

I picked it up, reading the brief description before I felt an eerie feeling, like someone was watching me. I looked around, my eyes scanning the aisle before landing on the book shelf behind me. Some books were missing but I couldn't see anyone there. I shook my head, shaking away the thoughts, why would anyone be watching me? I smiled at my own irrational thoughts and continued looking through the books. Once I found one I took it to the counter to purchase, by the time I got outside the sun was setting. I hurried to get home, slinging my bag over my shoulder I started to jog back to my apartment. The cool air felt nice as I slowed to a walk, I breathed in the scent of wood from the nearby trees, birds flew back to their nests as the sky got darker. I sighed in relief as I reached my apartment. I walked up the stairs to my room on the second floor, unlocking the door and stepping inside. I threw my bag on the floor, locked the door and took my shoes off. Finally I could relax.

After a quick shower I dressed in some sweatpants and a large t-shirt. I turned on the TV and laid down on the couch with a bowl of chips. My phone vibrated alerting me of a text message. It was my friend Alex"Hey girl, do you wanna hang out tomorrow. Does 10 sound good?" I smiled at the message and texted her back. "Sure, what about the cafe near the school, I heard they have great donuts," She sent me a thumbs up emoji, and I set my phone back down. Before I knew it I dozed off hearing the movie playing quietly in the background.

I opened my eyes, seeing myself in the middle of a forest, the sky dark with only the moon giving off a faint light. I looked around and saw nothing but the silhouettes of trees. The wind howled as it passed me, and the leaves rustled. Where am I? I questioned. I heard a crunch in front of me, my heart jumped and a spark of fear hit me. I looked at the silhouette of a person, I opened my mouth to ask them where I was or who they were but before I could they looked up at me. I made eye contact with a pair of icy blue eyes that made a shiver go down my spine. I backed away, getting a bad feeling.

They stepped towards me and I immediately started running, I could hear footsteps following behind me. I ran as hard as I could, hardly able to catch my breath, I screamed, "Help me! Anyone!" Nothing but the crunching of our feet could be heard. My heart pounded in my chest and before I could realize, I fell to the ground. I felt the person grab my arm, flipping me over. The darkness covered his face but I didn't fail to notice something in his hands. Something sharp pressed against my neck and I knew it was a knife. I opened my mouth to scream and felt the knife press into my skin.

I sat up quickly, breathing heavily while looking around the room. I was on the couch and the TV was still on. I put my hand on my chest trying to calm myself down, it was only a dream. I sat on the couch for a few minutes before finally getting up for a bottle of water. I took it from the fridge, gulping it down, finally feeling better. Why did I have that kind of dream? Who was that person? I shook my head, I should really stop reading horror stories. I put the water back in the fridge and decided to head back to bed. It was past midnight already and I had to get ready for breakfast tomorrow with Alex. I dragged my feet back to my room and plopped down on the bed, throwing my glasses on the table next to me. Getting under the sheets I hoped for a better sleep, one without nightmares.

When morning came I hurried to get ready, grateful that I had no more nightmares. I stumbled off the bed falling on the carpet floor. "Ow" I groaned sitting up trying to find my glasses. I finally found them, and pushed them onto my face. My blurry world changed to a much better one with details and colors. My vision was pretty bad, without my glasses I could barely see a few feet in front of me, I usually used my glasses but occasionally used my contact lenses.

I quickly got dressed and hurried out the front door, with my purse in hand. It was already 10:30 and I needed to get there by 10. I walked towards the cafe which was located just across from the bookstore I was at yesterday. It took me almost thirty minutes to get there, I walked into the cafe, immediately smelling the coffee and donuts. I spotted Alex in a booth and she waved at me "Violet!" I smiled at her and began walking towards the table when I noticed the person sitting next to her. It was Kimberly, I quietly sighed before getting to the table. This was going to be an interesting breakfast. "Hey Kim" I said as I sat down next to Alex. "Hey," she gave me a small wave but nothing more. I wondered why she even showed up. "I'm going to go to the bathroom real quick, order the number 1 for me." she called as she walked to the bathroom.

"Alex, why is she here?" I asked, confused. "I'm sorry, but she was texting me last night and she seemed so sad, so I invited her." Alex answered. I wasn't angry that she was there it's just me and her never got along, I'm not sure why, it was mostly on her part that we never got along. Every  time she would see me she'd walk away, or completely ignore me. Now I was wondering why she showed up when she knew I would be here. My thoughts were cut short when the waitress showed up, a pretty girl with blond hair and dark brown eyes. "What drinks can I get for you?" She asked with a small notepad in her hands. I completely forgot to look at the menu. "I'll just get a sweet tea?" I questioned not even sure if it was on the menu. "Sure thing," she wrote it down and looked towards Alex. "I'll get a coffee with cream, and also a sweet tea for my friend."

The waitress took our orders and walked back to the kitchen. I scanned through the menu and decided to get some pancakes with fruit. After a few minutes, the waitress came back with the drinks and asked for our orders. We placed our order and I began to wonder where Kim went. "Hey Alex, are you sure Kim is okay, she's been gone for a while." "Hmm, can you go check on her?" Alex asked before stuffing a fork full of eggs into her mouth. "Why can't you do it, she doesn't even like me."

"Please, I'm so hungry," she whined before stuffing another fork full of food in her mouth. I chuckled at her behavior and got up from my seat before going to the bathroom. "Hey, Kim are you al-" I stopped mid-sentence when I saw her on the phone. "I know, I know, I won't mess it up," she whispered to the person on the phone. She turned around seeing me, she whispered  a quick goodbye before quickly hanging up the phone and putting it into her pocket. "Hey Kim, I was just seeing if you were okay." She looked at me with a bit of irritation in her eyes before quickly wiping that look away. She gave me a smile before saying, "yeah I'm fine, just making a quick phone call, lets go back to Alex." She ushered me out of the bathroom and back to Alex.

By the time we got back, Alex had already finished half of her food. "Hey Kim, what took you so long, we thought you fell in," Alex joked. "Ha Ha," Kim answered, her voice full of sarcasm. I sat down and smiled. Finally I could eat my food. I took a huge bite of the pancakes, savoring the sweet taste.

A bell went off when the cafe door opened. I glanced in that direction and was caught off guard by the icy blue eyes that met mine. My breathing hitched when my thoughts went back to my dream, the eyes were almost identical. "Hello, Violet?!" Alex shook my arm snapping me out of  my thoughts. I looked away and back to her, "Hm, what?" I asked. "What are you looking at?" She questioned looking towards the cafe entrance. "Oh, I get it now, he's pretty cute, isn't he?" Alex said, rather loudly. "Shh Alex, your being too loud," I whispered my face heating up. "He could probably hear you." Alex grinned at me, "I'm just saying, come on, I know you agree with me." I shook my head in disbelief. I mean sure, I did agree with her. Ignoring the fact that his eyes reminded me of the one in my dreams he was attractive, with his midnight hair contrasting his light skin tone, he looked about the same age as me. But I didn't want to admit that to Alex, she would just start teasing me. There was also something very familiar about those eyes and hair, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

I looked across the table at Kim and she looked nervous. Her expression switched one of fear, her eyes large as she started tapping her fingers on the table nervously. I don't know what's wrong with her but shes been acting weird since we saw each other. First the phone call and now this.

I tried my best to ignore it, I wasn't close enough to ask her, I'll just let Alex know later. I continued to eat before I saw Kim take a deep breath before speaking. "Anyway, I wanted to invite both of you to a music festival. Can you guys go with me?" She looked at both of us. "That sounds fun, I'm in." Alex chimed in. "What about you, Violet?" She stared at me intently. "Um, I'm not sure, I'm not really into that." I took a sip of my drink. Kim's eyes narrowed as she continued staring at me, something about it was really unnerving. "Please, it'll be fun."

I thought about it, I wasn't fond of going to a place with so many people, not to mention getting lost. "Come on Violet, it'll totally be fun, we need a break from school" Alex commented. "Fine I'll go, what day is it?" I looked at Kim who looked noticeably more relaxed, "It's on May 1st, also don't worry about the tickets, I'll get them." It was three months away but Alex was already giddy with excitement, "I can't wait, thanks Kim," Alex gave her a hug which Kim tried to subtly get out of. "Yeah, thanks Kim," I smiled. She gave me a faint smile and Alex spoke up, "Also your birthday is on May 15, so it's like an early birthday party, how old are you going to be, 50?" She asked trying to hold in her laughter. I gave her a look, she always made this joke, always saying how I acted like I was older, just because I read books and didn't want to go to any of these parties. "20, I'll be turning 20, Alex," She let out a giggle.

"Alright, it's settled then. I'll give you guys more info as the date gets closer," Kim spoke with a smile. I heard the ring of the door and saw the young man from before walk out. Hmm I don't think he even got anything. I turned away, finishing the last of my food, thinking about the music festival. I truly hoped I would be able to enjoy, the last party Alex took me to was awful, I felt tired just thinking about it.

Chapter 2: Meeting

Unknown's POV

I headed back to my home, it was an old family home in the countryside. My mother and father died years ago, and it was just me and my grandma before she passed away two years ago, now this house belonged to me. Soon me and Violet, I smiled at the thought. I shut the car door and went to the truck. I picked up everything, rope, handcuffs, food, knives, and a gun, just in case. I grabbed them all and brought them into the house. It wouldn't be too long now, these months would pass fast, and I still had a lot to do. I unlocked an old room, getting it ready for Violet, I wanted to make sure she would be comfortable.

Violet's POV

I awoke to the sound of someone knocking on the door. My heart jumped at the sudden sound. Who is knocking at the door this early? I groaned and looked at the time. "I'm late!" I yelled, jumping out of bed, then I heard the voice of Alex, "Would you open the door already," She called. I walked out in my pajamas and opened the door. "Thank god I came this way, you're already late to class," she laughed.

She was dressed nicely with her blond hair in gentle waves, tied in a loose ponytail. I gave her a scowl and rushed to get ready. I can't believe I overslept. This is what I get for reading all those comics. I ran into the bedroom changing into different clothes, then ran back to the door grabbing my shoes, noticing Alex digging around in my fridge, "Don't eat all my food now," I called. "I won't," she said, her voice muffled. I looked towards her, seeing her mouth stuffed with who knows what, I shook my head at her, it hasn't been five minutes, and she's already taking stuff.

"Alright, let's go," I opened the front door, waiting for Alex. She rushed past me, and we headed out. Alex had a car so we could get there quicker, we both went to college at the same place, but these months would be stressful due to finals coming up. Classes would be ending in May, but most finals would be finished in April, I hoped to do well. I was going for a veterinary assistant degree, and Alex wanted to be a dentist, which is ironic considering how much junk food she eats. I smiled at the thought, Alex drove to the college and parked the car.

We got out and rushed to our separate classes. Time passed slowly as I sat in class, I wasn't mad about that, I liked my classes and enjoyed learning more about my career. When class ended, I headed outside and waited on school grounds, I found a bench under some trees and decided to wait there till Alex got out in about an hour.

I placed my bag on the table and finally relaxed. Oh, I almost forgot, I have to call my mom today. I grabbed my phone and dialed her number. It wasn't long before i heard her gentle voice come through. "Hi, Sweetie. I was waiting for your call." I smiled. It's been a while since I talked to her, so it felt good to finally hear her voice. "Hey Mom, how have you been?" We talked for a while, catching up with each other.

"Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, I'll be going to a music festival in a couple of months with some friends." It was silent for a moment before she spoke. "A music festival? With whom exactly?" I could already hear the change in her voice. She was worried.  "Mom, don't worry, I'll be with Alex and one of her friends." I could hear her sigh before speaking, "Okay, just promise that you'll stay together at all times. Don't get lost."

"I know, mom, I promise." I doodled on my notepad while we continued talking. Time seemed to pass quickly, and it was almost time for Alex to get out. "Mom, I'll have to go in a bit, Alex is almost out of class."

"Okay sweetie, remember to come back on your birthday, your sister misses you." I smiled, remembering my little sister, Abigail. "I will mom, I miss her too. Tell her that for me, will you." It was hard not being able to see my little sister, with her big brown eyes and her dirty blonde hair. While she got her brown-blonde hair from my mom, I got a golden brown color from my dad. "I will, I love you okay, call me again soon."

"Okay, mom, I love you too. Tell dad and Abby that, too." We said our goodbyes, and I hung up, just in time for Alex to run out of the school screaming my name. I swear, she acted like a little kid sometimes. I smiled and got up as she started running towards me. Other students stared at her weirdly, "Calm down Alex, why are you so excited?" By the time she got to me, she was out of breath. "Oh my god, Violet! A hot new guy just joined my class!" she practically yelled. "Alex, stop being so loud." I grabbed her arm, dragging her a little farther from the students. Her eyes shifted behind me, and a big smile appeared on her face. "Look, Violet, he's right there." she pointed to the doors of the school.

I didn't need to ask who. A tall guy with light brown hair and green eyes walked out from the door. I'll admit, he was pretty hot. " Am I right or what?" I laughed at her enthusiasm, "Yes you're right."

"I knew you'd agree. His name is Sebastian." She watched as he left the school grounds.       "Alright, no more staring. Let's go get some food." I grabbed my stuff, and we left. "Where should we eat, I kinda want some noodles or something."

"Hmm, what if we just buy the stuff and make it at your place. We could have a sleepover!"

By the time we got back to my apartment, it was already 5 pm. We carried the bags into the elevator and to the room. I got my keys and went to unlock the door, but the door was already unlocked. "That's weird, I swear I locked my door this morning," I said, turning to Alex. "Hmm, are you sure, we did rush out this morning." I tried to recall, I thought I locked it. "I thought so, but maybe I'm wrong." I pushed open the door, and we walked inside. I scanned the room but didn't see anything different.

We put the bags down and I walked to my room, everything looked the same. I looked at the bed and noticed a dip in the bed sheets, almost like someone was standing there. I looked up at the hanging light above my bed but didn't notice anything. I sighed, walking out of the bedroom, it's probably nothing. I walked back to the kitchen, seeing Alex beginning to cook the noodles.

Soon enough, she was done, and we sat started putting different things in them. I loved spicy, so I opted for some chili garlic oil, we both put some soft boiled eggs in, and we were ready to go. "Alright, what should we watch?" I asked, sitting on the couch. "Hmm... Oh! Let's watch Twilight! I saw that it's on Hulu."

"Again? We watched it the other day."

"We watched the first one, we can watch the second one, please," she begged.

I sighed, "Fine, we can watch it." I handed her the remote, and she smiled, grinning like a little kid.

The rest of the night consisted of eating loads of junk food and binging the Twilight movies.

I groaned as the light shined through the window. "What time is it?" I squinted from the light and reached for my phone. Geez, it's already 12. I looked around and realized I was lying on the couch, Alex was on the opposite side of the couch, leaning on the arm rest. I reached for my glasses, speaking to Alex "Alex, get up. It's already 12." I reached my foot out, pushing her off the couch. She fell on the carpet floor, letting out a groan.

I got off the couch, crouching by her, "Come on, Alex," I said while shaking her.

"Five more minutes," she whined. I sighed and looked around the room. Their were crumbs on the floor and couch, empty chip bags, mostly from Alex, and our empty bowls.

"Five minutes, Alex, that's it, or I'm throwing some water on you." I threatened. She responded with a groan.

I smiled and shook my head. I began picking up the bags of chips and headed to the kitchen to watch the dishes. I walked back to the kitchen, seeing that Alex still hadn't moved.

"Alex!" I shouted. She bolted up with wide eyes. She looked at me with a frown. "Geez, why do you have to yell?" she yawned.

"Get up and help me clean," I watched as she finally stumbled off the couch and started cleaning the table and vacuuming the crumbs.

-

I closed the door after Alex. She had to drive back to her place and get some studying and homework done. I flopped down on the bed after she left. I really don't feel like doing anything today. I grabbed my book and laid down on the couch. I decided today was going to be a lazy day. I began reading, but it wasn't long till my stomach started growling. I could really go for some donuts right now. I sighed, putting my book down. Now my mind was filled with getting donuts, and iced coffee.

I got up, dragging my feet to the bathroom. I hopped in the shower feeling the warm water wake me up. After finishing I hopped out of the shower dressing in some ripped black jeans and a maroon blouse. Grabbing the trash bag on the way out I began walking to the elevator. I thought today was going to be a lazy day but I just can't resist donuts, and coffee. I got in the elevator heading down. Once there I threw the trash away and made my way to the coffee shop that was just a ten minute walk. The sun was high and warm, but there was a nice breeze that kept the air cool. I walked past several groups of people and some couples. In a way, I kinda wished to have a relationship with someone. Part of me wanted someone to spend my days with, feeling the comfort of being with someone, knowing they were there for me and doing the same for them. Another part of me liked the alone time, and doing what I wanted.

I looked at the cars driving past, and finally I saw the sign of the coffee shop. I hurried into the shop, seeing the long line. The sweet smell of coffee and the donuts made my stomach grumble. Damn, this is going to take so long. I looked at the menu deciding to get an iced caramel macchiato a slice of apple pie and a chocolate filled donut . I waited 10 minutes before it was my turn to order. I got my donuts and waited for them to make my coffee. Once done I thanked the person and took a sip of coffee. Just as I turned for the exit, I ran into someone. My coffee fell from my hand, I flinched as it fell to the floor, the coffee went everywhere and onto my shoes.

"Oh God, I'm so sorry," I looked up, surprised to see those same green eyes.. He looked flustered grabbing some napkins from the counter. He kneeled down trying to wipe the liquid from my shoes. I moved back pushing my glasses up, "It's okay, it was just an accident." I ushered for him to get back up. Just then an employee came out with a mop. "I got it." Before I could offer to help, Sebastian pulled me out of the way. "I'm sorry, let me get you another one." Just as I was about to refuse he was already at the register paying.

He walked back to me, "I'm really sor-" I held my hand up to stop him from apologizing again. "You don't have to keep saying sorry, it was partially my fault too." He looked at me bashfully, a pinkish blush rising on his face. Cute was the first thought that hit me. He really did look cute, it made me want to tease him. "Why don't we sit down while we wait," he suggested. I smiled, "Okay."

We sat at the nearest table, sitting across from each other. "You go to the university near here, right?" he asked. "Yes I do, how did you know?"

"I saw you a couple times yesterday, if it's okay, can I ask what your name is?" he asked his green eyes were shining brightly. I laughed, "It's fine, my name is Violet."

"Your name is Sebastian right? My friend is the one who told me about you. Did you just move here?"

"Yeah, I just moved about two weeks ago, I just got unpacked and my first day was yesterday," he smiled. "How are you liking it so far?" I asked, captivated by his smile.

"It's going okay so far, it's better now." I tilted my head about to ask him what he meant when the cashier yelled, "Number twenty-seven!" Sebastian stood up, getting the drink from the cashier, I followed after him.

He turned around handing it to me. I reached into my pocket grabbing a ten dollar bill. "Here, I told you it was my fault too, you don't have to buy this for me." I went to hand him the bill but he just shook his head. "Nope, I am not taking any money from you." I frowned, waving the bill towards him  but he still refused. "Fine, but I'll get you back next time." I turned, this time carefully looking around before walking out of the cafe.

I heard his footsteps following behind me, "Next time?" I turned around looking at his eyes, noticing how the sun made them look brighter. I looked at his hair seeing the light curls in his caramel brown hair. It took me a second before I realized how close he was and I felt my face heat up, while also realizing what I implied. "Oh, I mean-,"

"That sounds good," Sebastian cut in, "I guess I'll see you next time." He gave me a quick smile and a wave before turning around and walking in the other direction. I stood there for a bit, my face warm. I finally realized how long I was standing there and turned, walking back towards my apartment. I couldn't help the warm fuzzy feeling i felt, for some reason I felt excited to see him again. I shook my head trying to get the thoughts out of my head. I just met the guy and I'm already feeling like this.

I finally reached my apartment. Unlocking the door, I walked in. Taking a sip of my drink, I sat at the table pulling out my donut and pie. I browsed my phone while eating and was soon finished. I went to my bedroom looking for the book I was reading. I looked around the apartment getting frustrated when I couldn't find it. I swear I left it on the couch when I left. I gave up, walking to my bedroom and changing into different clothes.

I opened the drawer pulling out some black sweatpants. I looked for my favorite shirt, it was a black shirt with my favorite bird in the world on it, a white umbrella cockatoo. I searched through the drawer and the closet finding nothing. "Why is everything missing?!" I yelled. There's no way I would lose it, I wore it just last week and I haven't been to Alex's house in a while.

I stood in the middle of the room, confused. Something didn't feel right, how could I lose both those items at the same time. I walked into the living room, I needed to make sure nothing else was missing. I just couldn't ignore the weird feeling.
