Cody pushed his trolley filled with groceries and toiletries to the counter. He had to join the queue and he really hated that. But what choice do I have, he thought.

He joined the queue and waited for his turn. He was the seventh person on the line. The person in front of him was a plump middle aged woman who was carrying two shopping baskets filled with groceries. She seemed to have remembered something as she excused herself from the line. Cody became the sixth person on the line. Now, that's something. He looked at the person in front of him. She was slim and petite. She turned to glance at him and he became dazed. The lady who just glanced at him was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life. With a fair oval face as smooth and flawless like that of a baby, round and big eyes and little pink lips, she was indeed a beauty. He noticed her back view and realized that she was gorgeous. Good grief, he thought, this could kill.

Melissa had come to the mall to get few things for herself. Her sister had also begged her to buy some things for her. She sighed as she looked at the list her twin sister had given her. Guess I got everything on the list, she thought. She noticed that the person behind her had left the line so she glanced behind her. She was stunned. The man behind her was so handsome and the aura around him was unique. With just one glance, the rate of her heartbeat increased. Wow, she thought, I got to see an extremely handsome man today. Guess the trip to the mall is worth it. Boohoo to Michelle, she thought as she smiled to herself.

Melissa wanted to glance at the man again but she decided against it.

Cody fixed his gaze on the lady in front of him. He wished she'd turn back again but she didn't. The queue moved on and eventually she became the first on the line while he became the second. Melissa dropped her shopping baskets on the counter and took out all what she bought.

"Good afternoon ma'am," the salesgirl at the counter said with a smile. "Can I have your card, please?"

Melissa reached out to give the girl her card but then a voice stopped her.

"Take mine" Cody said as he gave his card to the salesgirl. "I'll pay for this young lady here"

Melissa shook her head to protest.

"It's no problem. Really" he said with a charming smile.

Melissa was dazed at that smile but she regained herself. She smiled back at him but didn't protest again. The salesgirl packed her things for her and gave Cody a receipt with a smile. Melissa collected the shopping bags with a smile and hurriedly walked towards the mall's exit. She wanted to thank the handsome man but she couldn't.

Cody collected his receipt and shopping bags and walked out of the mall. He spotted the beautiful lady he saw inside and walked towards her. She was putting her shopping bags into her car. He stared at her as he walked to her. He didn't understand why he paid for what she bought. Although he was a type of man who appreciated beauty but he wasn't the kind who was open about it. He had never really involved himself with women apart from his sisters, female cousins and friends. He didn't know why he was walking towards her now but he continued. He got to her as she wanted to start her car.

Melissa saw the handsome man walk up to her car as she wanted to start her car. Oh my God, she thought, I hope he doesn't wanna start a conversation now. I have to leave, she thought as she quickly started her car and drove off leaving him bewildered.
