-the sun shines bright and the warm wind fills the whole city.Its 8 in the morning as Eric wakes up and checks the time...
He wakes up Mark who was asleep on the sofa like a drunken old man with his right foot on the floor and his left foot on top of the back of the sofa..
He shakes Mark who woke up and fell on the floor
Eric
Go take a shower!right now..unless you want to get yelled at by the principal.you know he's the one that looks out for late students on Monday!
Mark
Okey..im going to take a shower
Then Eric took a shower after Mark was done.
Marks gets out of the room where he changed and suddenly, he heard a loud crash.
Mark
What the ****?Oh, just a car and a lamp post.
All of a sudden,they hear screams and shrieks followed by groans and grunts outside.
Eric
As they were to gt close to the window, a woman bathed in blood suddenly started pounding on the door shouting for help.They were pushed back in shock.And then a man came out of nowhere and pushed the woman onto the ground.Eric got near the window and saw the man feasting on the woman like an animal.And then,Mark closed the curtains.
Eric
That dude just ate off the face of the woman!
A second later, they heard people screaming.They peeked as they opened the curtain and saw the horror.
Cars were either on fire or bumped on houses or other cars and people were being chased and getting eaten.
Mark
Oh my god!Tell me were in a movie,pls tell me those are not zombies!
They were both trembling.
Eric
T-this is impossible.Wait,I'll turn on the tv.
To their surprise,they saw countries filled with riot and newscasters warn people about a global pandemic!
Eric changed the channel and went through the other channels and saw them filled with the same news.
Mark
Its happening all around the world!Is this punishment for being late!?
Eric
Stay at your home and avoid all contact with infected individuals.
Eric read the warnings on the news.
Bang!
They heard the noise and they went to the kitchen to find a zombie stuck in the small window.

Although Eric was terrified as well,he could still talk
Then,some zombies started banging and grunting on the window.
Eric
Sound!they're attracted to sound.Okay,no shouting and stay calm.
Mark
Okay.okay(deep breath).Still, this guy is still creeping me out.
And they both looked at the zombie stuck in the small window
Eric
Uhuh,and im scared of those guys
Eric said this as he pointed at the window behind them.
Mark was shocked to see a horde of undead trying to open the window.
Eric
At this rate,were done for.
Mark
Well,atleast they dont know how to open windows.
Mark
Screw this! Is the world punishing us for waking up late?
Eric
Shhht..Do you hear that?
Then they heard a helicopter swoop in and passed through the streets.
The zombies followed the helicopter.
Eric
Huh?I guess the world still wants us to live..
Mark
What's that supposed to mean?
Eric
Let's pack up and get out of here.
Mark
Good idea.only one problem, where are we going?
A little bit embarrassed,Eric scratches his head.Because of all that happened,they were not sure where is safe.
Eric
Let's see the news again.
As they turned on the tv and entered a certain news channel, they read that there was a so called safe zone near their school.
Eric
And that answers your problem.
Mark
Uhuh..what about the uh..o I dont know,the hundreds or probably thousands of infected people all over the city.
Eric
Uhmm...You got me there..
Eric
But we still need to go there.Lets get food that's easy to cook and uhh..weapons.
Mark
How about noodles?and cans?
Eric
Go pack em up.As much as your bag can handle.
As Mark was stuffing the food in his bag,he asked.
Eric
I'll go get the biggest knife and the hammer.
Mark
I call dibs on the knife,and you take the hammer.
As Eric was looking for the hammer,he also found some rope and nails.
Mark
Hey! I also got some soap and rubbing alcohol,toothbrush and toothpaste.
Eric
Good idea since we might camp in other places.I also got some cloth,you know,just in case.
Mark
Yeah,its better than nothing.Give me the knife.
Eric gives it to him.And they went to the door.Slowly they unlocked it and crept slowly outside.
Mark
But I cant still believe that all this is happening.
Eric
Huhhh...me too.But we we still need to go check on my dad.
Mark
How about my parents?
Eric
Well,my dad's house is near the school remember? After we go check on him,we'll go check on your parents.
Mark
I guess because they live farther from here.
Then they heard a growl.Then a loud bang.
Weapons of Choice
Hearing the sound,Eric went behind Mark.
Mark
Bro,I know you're scared but why the heck are you behind me?
Eric
You dont understand,its better if someone is a lookout behind.Then we have 360° of view.You know this things,they just will come out of nowhere.
Mark
Oh,when you say it that way,it makes sense but why dont you be the one in front?
Eric
Why not you,you're the taller and bigger one.
Mark
This is your plan.You'll be the one in front!
Then a zombie showed up infront of them.
Mark stabbed it in the head and Eric landed a heavy blow at the back of its head.And the zombie fell face-down.
Mark
Huh,I thought they can run.
Eric
Wait,its Mr. Fred.You know,the guy who got in a car accident.One of his leg was broken.
Eric
Fine,I'll be the one in front so from now on,STRICTLY NO SHOUTING.And you better watch my back.
They walked a couple of minutes and were marveled to see an empty road and buildings.
Eric
Thankfully,the helicopter came and they followed it.
Eric
But we still need to keep our guards up.I mean,you never know,there might still be other zombies who are still here.
Mark
Yesterday,we were just chilling out and the city was filled with normal people.And now we wake up to see zombies.
Eric
Well,we were always playing zombie mode on ps4 and xbox so we might just make it out alive.
Mark
I guess,buts that's not reassuring.Look!(points at the side of the road)
Eric turns to see a sign that says:
Safe zone-national high school ahead.
Eric
Yeah but thats 5 kilometers away and were on foot.And we only have a knife and a hammer.
Mark
Look again.(points to a hardware shop)
Eric
Wow,would you look at that.
Mark
It's open.Let's go and see if there's something we need in there.
Eric
Remember,360 you watch my back-
Mark
And I watch yours..okay
As they went in,they saw tools but they were startled when they saw a zombie banging his head on the cashier.It saw them and came at them charging while shrieking.
They ran in circles and then they turned randomly on every aisle they pass.Mark saw a crowbar and as the zombie was to bite him,he grabbed it and the zombie went for the crowbar,chewing in it while pushing on Mark.Mark fell to the floor with his arms on the crowbar.
Eric then came holding a shovel and like digging onto the ground he pierced it into the zombie's neck.Its head fell onto Mark and blood gushed into his face.He stood up and started wiping the blood off him with the towels in the shop.
Eric
Uh...I think what you're supposed to say is thank you.
Eric
And...you are welcome.
Mark
Nice shovel by the way.That's a military shovel.
Eric
Just found it at the back.There's only one,though.
Mark
I think im gonna keep this crowbar.
Eric
Yeah,we can't use the heavy tools like the chainsaw.They are just gonna make a lot of noise.
Mark
But we might need ropes and nails,Im gonna go get some.
Eric
I still have the hammer but Im gonna get another one.And also,get a tool vest for yourself Im gonna get one for me.
Mark
Oh yeah,nice thingking.
After they gathered what they wanted,they ate bread.They took a rest and went on the move.
Eric
We can continue eating later.Lets go the the terminal.There's food stalls there remember?
Mark
Let's go then.Oh,and we can also take a look at the map there.We can use it to see which way is safer.
Eric
Oh man,I forgot something.
Eric brings out his phone.
Eric
Come on lets just go.
And they walked along the road filled with crashed cars,dead bodies and the smell of rotten bodies mixed with gasoline and smoke.
