I can't believe it.
It's finally happening. "Are you nervous, my lady?" Looking out from the window, I can feel the celebration from the Townsquare permeating the air, banners of my insignia hung, and songs were sung. "I still can't believe it, Immon. We did it." Alecta said in a hushed tone.
Immon stood proudly wearing his uniform, a sleek black armor that blended well with the shadows but for today, his armor shone as it was polished well, the scratch marks from years of battle were gone. "It was all due to your ambition, you brought everyone together and even when we were hopeless, you still strived, My Lady." His silver hair blew to the side as the wind gushed from the window revealing his pointed ears.
"It was everyone's will to unite, I was just the catalyst." Her black hair that was usually tied back was free from its confinement and adorned with jewels befitting a Queen. "Surely you jest," Immon said with a smile the lady rolled her eyes.
"Yes, all my life, I trained to be a comedian." She replied dryly and the elven man grinned. "I should know, I was there from the beginning." They both gazed at the festivities. "This wouldn't happen without you, never put yourself down again." It was a long journey and I closed my eyes.
Everything started with a chance and a change that no one expected, it was a journey on who can produce the best for their own country and brag about it but from that world, another world existed.
It was chaotic, full of powerplays and bloodshed, there was no order only power, and in that world, the weak were trampled and oppressed to the point that death was the only option. The two major powers of that dimension did not care about their people but it turns out that reason was a lie.
There was something bigger that they could not have controlled and in turn, these two powers appointed a respective champion, those two champions came from a world vastly different from their own. "To think everything began because of that day." I mused and Immon looked at me with a nostalgic smile.
"Some people were born to lead and others are born to follow but you, my lady, you were born to unite."
"I have the Unseelie Court to thank for the support as well as the Dark Court. If weren't for them then I would not be able to unite anything." Immon nodded and smiled bitterly because all the pain, the blood that was shed and tears the flowed from his Lady's eyes are all thanks to the Court.
She shouldn't be thankful for the pain but she still was. "I did what I had to do, Immon. I know your smiles better than anyone else." He found her glancing at him with that smile that breaks his heart. "Some sacrifices would not be necessary if they would just lower their pride." He muttered and the woman laughed sadly.
"That is not the Unseelie way, we both know that." It was a bitter reminder that the Unseelie ruled differently from the Seelie court and it was maddening to acknowledge. "But I am still thankful, the Unseelie way has taught me to be who I really want to be without the influence of anyone else, I am thankful to be one with my darkness."
The power that his Lady had was something to behold and it was thanks to the Unseelie that she was able to unlock it to its full potential and had made her dream into a reality.
