(Chapter 1-1 Destined Reincarnation)

I can no longer tell how many times I’ve journeyed to Yemsaiel now. At first, I had travelled back to the past because I was unwilling to let things remain as it were.

―I can’t accept that ending.

Yemsaiel was covered in Ice and Snow, and Alkaid, the mage, had hurt my world in order to save me.

I want to increase the power of my Painting Spirit, and learn more about Yemsaiel.

I think…that maybe, I can find a way where both worlds are safe.

I steeled my resolve and returned to the past once more. I restarted my journey to Yemsaiel, again and again. I cannot trust their people, so I can only rely on myself. I continued strengthening myself, exploring the secrets of Yemsaiel.

But I wasn’t as strong as I thought I was.

There were many times where I had been locked away in a humongous birdcage. Unable to defeat the Chief Mage, Clarence, I only ended up being a sacrifice, doomed to lose my life in the Magic Circle of the Advent Ritual. I once managed to escape outside of the Imperial Capital but encountered swarms of Ice Butterflies out in the Wastelands. Exhausted and with no one to save me, I watched as the ice and snow attached themselves onto my body. I had been to the Resistance Camp but was mistaken for a Spy. Their arrows rained down. A sword slashing down upon me. I’ve also secretly investigated the Mages of the Imperial Capital, trying to find out the secrets of Yemsaiel through them. Those investigations of mine didn’t often end well. The Mages were arrogant and powerful, using the most vicious techniques to entrap me to my death. I paid the price for my weakness, my gullibility, and my recklessness. But every time my life was about to come to an end, I found myself returning to the starting point. Within this cycle, I became more adept at manipulating the Painting Spirit. I could access more places, explore more secrets. The more I understood the world, the more I discovered the intricate ties of various forces at play. Right and wrong blended together, for everyone’s motives aren’t all that simple. Solemn bravery cannot be exchanged for a smooth sail down the road. I’ve tried almost every single possibility to ever exist, but what I got in return was more regrets and an unwillingness to let it pass. The best result I’ve ever achieved so far was when the Advent Ritual had been a success, and I didn’t have to become a Blood Sacrifice myself. Most of the people can make it to the new world, but I cannot save those who are destined to become sacrifices.

—Look. I’ve reached the end of my journey with the people of Yemsaiel yet again, after being transported here through a magic circle. The ice and snow had melted, the birds singing, and the flowers fragrant. This is probably the extent of my abilities… The matters of the world aren’t something that’s part of the “Space-time” my brush is capable of manipulating. I’m not an omnipotent author who’s capable of writing a perfect ending to this story. ⊹ ˚✩ ━━━━━━━ ∘◦ ✥ ◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ✩˚ ⊹ So this is probably the end. I’m tired; I want to go home. I hope I can return to the blue planet that I was born in. I don’t wish to make everything end well anymore…I just…wish for this journey to end and return back to my own world. ⊹ ˚✩ ━━━━━━━ ∘◦ ✥ ◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ✩˚ ⊹

The distant stars called for me, leading me back towards my own world. I opened my eyes wide, looking forward to being able to return to earth, my home… Only to set eyes on a horrifying sight.

A huge whirlpool had appeared before my eyes, dust flew everywhere. It was almost as if it were trying to suck everything into its own core. The ground cracked, buildings collapsed, and the City’s tall buildings looked like nothing more than broken toys.

A familiar face appeared at the scene of the disastrous apocalypse, his face a mask of strange calmness.

What… What is this? How did Earth arrive in this state? Everything was collapsing, and soon…everything was plunged into an abyss of darkness. ⊹ ˚✩ ━━━━━━━ ∘◦ ✥ ◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ✩˚ ⊹ I’ve blundered again. I had forgotten…that the reason why I had even been brought to Yemsaiel, was because someone in our world had set me and Selene up. But I hadn’t ever looked into him in my subsequent journeys. He, who had been creating evil for some unknown reason, growing steadily in a place that I know not of. I can’t give up yet. I must return to Yemsaiel and investigate every force and every relationship at play. I can only truly return home once I’ve completely resolved all conflict there.
