I hated this ending as a reader, I hated the villainess's character, if she would have been a little open to others... maybe she wouldn't have had ended up like that...

That's what I thought before jumping off the cliff... and somehow ended up in the novel, "blood stained roses".

In the novel, princess roseanne was an adopted child of the imperial family.

The day she was adopted the empress died. The whole kingdom blamed her for bringing misfortune and soon rumours started to spread about the "devil's child".

[ Devil's child is the nickname given to Roseanne ]

All kinds of nasty rumours spread about her. And the most nasty thing of all was that the emperor didn't even bothered to take actions against those rumours. It was as if he had taken Roseanne responsible for her beloved wife's death.

Soon after, she was sent to the emerald palace far away from the imperial palace and the emperor.

She lived upto the rumours and became no less than the real devil's child. Once she attended a ball and gouged out a person's eyes because she didn't like the look in his eyes. That person was an important noble and his familly took matters to the imperial court.

Princess Roseanne was sentenced to life long prison and died a silent death.

It was known later that she died of an incurable disease. No one knew about her condition.

That's that... but now the main issue is, I have somehow ended up in her place...

Why a second chance of life to me?

I was tiered of that shitty life, those fake people, those fake expressions, that fake world...

So why? Why did I end up here? It's not like I wanna live...

In the novel, Emma was the most close to Roseanne and the one who slowly poisoned her with every meal she ate. Roseanne's health kept getting worse with each day passing. But she didn't once suspected Emma.

Roseanne was a fool that was hated by all.

I wouldn't make the same mistake as Roseanne, to think she trusted that maid...

I took a bath and was dressed by the maids but refused to eat. For the rest of the day, I thought of a plan. I would steal some gems from the emrald palace and would live a quiet and peaceful life in the countryside, travelling. Something I had never thought of in my previous life let alone implement it.

By evening I was getting hungry...

I had to eat before I die of malnutrition. I decided to take a look at the shops in the kingdom.

Emma called to me, " Princess, are you going somewhere ?"

" Yes, I will be back soon. "

She insisted for me to take a gaurd with me but I refused. I didn't want to get assassinated.

I put my robe on and left.

While exploring the shops I found many delicious snacks. But while walking I suddenly felt a pain... it was so painful as if my nerves and intensities were about to burst.

I coughed blood...

And the next moment I felt dizzy and lost my balance but someone cought to me just in time. I fell unconscious.

That's what I remember before waking up in a bed next to a bonfire.

I saw an old couple taking care of me. Of course, They didn't recognised me as the adopted princess because Roseanne's face was never officially revealed. I thanked them and was about to leave when I realised my legs won't listen to me.

I couldn't stand up...

The old man said to me, " kiddo, take it easy. I think you should rest for a while. "

" Sorry for troubling you. "

" No worries ", he said

I dozed off again...

•

When I woke up the old woman made me porridge and I happily accepted. It had been a while since someone had treated me so kindly...

" Oh! you woke up? ", someone said standing at the doorway

I looked confused towards that figure, it was a boy around my age.

The old lady told me that he was the one who brought me here and took care of me. Turns out that boy was the old couple's grandchild.

I thanked them and apologized for the trouble and left.

When I returned to the palace, Emma showed her fake concern

" Where were you? I was so worried about you. I even asked the gaurds to search for you by they were not able to find you. You haven't eaten since morning, do you want to eat something? You must be hungry right!? "

This time I decided to be real.

" No need for such formalities. "

" What do you mean Princess? "

" What I mean to say is that you don't need to show fake concerns as a formality. I am tierd now, you can go. "

Emma hesitantly, "...ye-yes princess, I will be taking my leave now. Rest well. "

The next morning I was woken up by Emma's voice.

" It's morning princess. Wake up. "

She came in and suddenly screamed

" What's with the screaming? ", I said annoyingly

She pointed her finger towards my pillow. I soon realised...

I had coughed blood... again

It was one of the symptoms of spinocerebellar ataxia, the incurable disease owned by Roseanne.

Unlike the novel, the disease was progressing rather quick

" Don't scream! It's no big deal, "

" What do you mean it's no big deal? You coughed blood!! "BLOOD"!!, I will call a doctor right away. Don't move princess. Take rest. Don't worry. It will be alright. "

" No!!! I don't need a doctor. I am fine. Don't concern yourself with me and I told you this yesterday also but I will repeat myself again, no need for formalities. "

" Princess... just what have I done wrong? Why are you acting so cold towards me? Or is it that I am an eyesore? "

" You know, you don't need to pretend to be all good anymore. "

After that I left to explore the kingdom again. I bought fresh fruits for the old couple in return for their favour. Although I knew that wasn't enough...

" Yes comming, Oh my you are the little girl from yesterday, Good evening, I hope you are doing fine now. "

" Yes, thanks to you... I wanted to return your favour by doing something for you "

" Oh my no... you don't need to, it's every person's job to take care of someone in need. All I did was fulfill my duty. You don't need to return favours. "

" You didn't need to... but you came all the way here so I will accept it. "

Now nothing was holding me back from leaving this kingdom. I had returned my favour and was free to leave anytime.

Let's explore more for a while now...

While exploring I came across an unknown place, it was rather shady and at the dark side of the town. Curiosity got the best out of me and I decided to get in but a man stopped me...

He told me that only a few people were allowed there

I asked him, " So, is there no way I can go in? "

" There might be a way.. but it's rather risky"

" What is it ? I will do it just you tell me ", I said without a second thought

" You will have to challenge the host and win or else you loose your life "

I thought about it for a minute and then agreed. I was good at martial arts in my world and how hard could it be to defeat the host? That's what I thought... So stupid...

We entered there and I challenged the host for a fight. For some reason everyone around me looked at me as if I was the most stupid person on the planet...

" Hahaha... you are kidding right !? ", the host laughed mockingly

" Do I look like I am kidding to you? "

One look in my eyes and he knew it, I wasn't playing around

The match begins and we started to fight bare handed, I used my martial arts skills to the best of my ability but was still on the edge of losing...

My nose began bleeding

" What happened little girl? Wanna complain to momma? ", someone shouted from the crowd

I had lost my temper... again. Those emotions from the past world began bubbling up at the bottom of my head.

Without realising I punched the host hard in the face and he fell on the ground. It was my chance... I leapt at him and began punching him, letting all my anger out.

I soon came back to my senses and backed down

Letting my personal emotions out in the middle of the match... such an embarrassment...

I never knew there was a character named Anne in the novel... maybe a side character... but she was nice and kind and sweet and quite chatty but in a good way... I think I like her.

For some reason I think I am being treated like a child here... not that I don't like it or anything but... it's wierd but for some reason I enjoy it. I enjoy spending my time with Anne. She is the nicest person I have ever met... of course the old couple were nice too but Anne is the first at the palace to treat me so nicely...
