When Lu Jinnian’s phone alarm sounded, Qiao Anhao was the first to rouse. Turning sideways, she realised that she had fallen asleep in Lu Jinnian’s arms! After about two seconds, the events from the previous night started coming back to her. Thunderstruck, she jumped off the bed and ran towards the toilet in a panic.

Qiao Anhao’s vigorous actions together with the phone’s alarm woke Lu Jinnian.

As he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Qiao Anhao slipping into the toilet. Even though it was just a glance, he could clearly tell that she was completely *****, kiss marks marking her tender white skin. Snippets from the night before started returning to his mind. Qiao Anhao had climbed into his arms, kissing him, caressing him, slowly undressing him…

Lu Jinnian furrowed his eyebrows. Scanning the room, he took in the mess on the bed, male and female pyjamas closely tangled together, a small bright red patch staining the bedsheets...

Lu Jinnian had too much alcohol the night before, which caused him a splitting headache. But this did not hinder his thought process. In just about a second, he figured what had happened between the two of them.

It was not a dream! Everything was real!

Lu Jinnian’s eyes darkened as he clenched the blanket. The next second, he yanked it open and marched towards the bathroom, his face a mask of anger.

Qiao Anhao shut the bathroom door, taking deep breaths. She had also drank alcohol the night before. Intoxicated, she had climbed into Lu Jin Nian’s arms. Thinking that it was a dream, she had daringly kissed him, before successfully seducing him. Not once had it occurred to her that it wasn't a dream.

Both Qiao Anhao and Lu Jinnian have been married for about two months. However, it was not a marriage of love and the public was not aware of their coupling. The following two weeks after they had married, they had effectively avoided each other with tacit understanding. Once they were out of the house, they automatically regarded the other as a stranger. But now, she had broken their agreement …

How will he react?

Just the thought of it made her shudder in fear and panic.

After a long while, Qiao Anhao reached towards the shower with trembling hands. Just as she was about to calm herself with cold water, the shower door flew open. Lu Jinnian charged in angrily. Grabbing her arm, he yanked her back. Reaching forward once again, he grabbed her neck, pushing her towards the wall behind.

Frustrated, Lu Jinnian did not control his strength and Qiao Anhao could feel pain throbbing down her back when he pushed her against the wall. Instinctively, she inhaled sharply. But before she could finish her inhale, Lu Jinnian snarled, "Qiao Anhao, I never knew you had the ability to take advantage of me, how could you climb into my bed when I was drunk?!"

Qiao Anhao's anxiousness intensified under his interrogation. Even her toes were trembling. She bit down on her lip, stunned for a long while, unable to say a word.

Lu Jinnian also stopped talking, seemingly patient.

Silence fell on the room, and Lu Jinnian continued to look unwaveringly at Qiao Anhao's pretty face.

Qiao Anhao was a bundle of nerves as she felt her thoughts being read by Lu Jinnian. Her heart raced and just when she couldn't withstand the pressure any longer, Lu Jinnian spoke, breaking the silence, "Or have you always wanted to be in my bed…"

Qiao Anhao trembled in shock. Had he found out about her feelings?

Panic flashed across her eyes. Trying desperately to hide her feelings, she blurted out, "I want a role in 'To the end of time'!"

Lu Jinnian stopped mid-sentence, unable to continue.

Qiao Anhao may have spoken too fast, as it didn't seem like he heard what she said. In fact, he looked completely stuck in a trance, and stood silently there for a long time.

She felt as though her heart was about to leap out of her throat. She struggled to calm down, staring straight at Lu Jinnian's flawless face. Keeping her composure, Qiao Anhao continued, "As you know, its been more than half a year since my debut but I haven't taken on any substantial roles. Since you hold so much authority in this industry, just a word would definitely secure me a role in 'To the end of time'."

Qiao Anhao froze briefly. After about five seconds, she pressed her lips into a tight line. Slowly, she continued, "So everything that happened last night was my payment to you."

Registering her words, Lu Jinnian's pupils shrunk sharply. As though trying to suppress his anger, the fingers on her neck started trembling.

Suddenly, he burst into laughter. "Qiao Anhao, are you trying to play games with me?"

Lu Jinnian chuckled, a short laugh no more than two counts, before the smile disappeared. He glared sharply at her, then spoke with a cruel tone of voice.

"Alright then, Qiao Anhao.. You want to play games with me? Okay! I'll be sure to break you!"

Lu Jinnian glared at Qiao Anhao as if he wanted to tear her apart. Clenching his teeth, he spat out his last sentence before ruthlessly removing his hands from her neck. Without sparing her another glance, he left.

Qiao Anhao's long lashes trembled slightly as her face paled. She remained glued to the wall until a thundering door slam resounded. Only then did she swallow the saliva that had formed behind her tightly clasped lips. Exhausted, she collapsed to the ground, tears clouding her vision.

Why would she climb into his bed just to act in 'To the End of Time'?

She just wanted to use it as an excuse to conceal her real feelings.

Feelings only kept to herself. Her love for him. 　

She loved him. She was secretly in love with him for the past thirteen years, never daring or allowing herself to let him know. 　

She thought that if she just concealed her feelings, everything would turn out alright. But never would she have known that one night, slightly intoxicated, she would expose her deepest secret. She had clearly overestimated her own abilities.

Even though Qiao Anhao had infuriated Lu Jinnian by climbing into his bed, she still received a phone call from 'To the End of Time' crew three days later, informing her to go for an audition.

It wasn't made known to her whether the audition was the director's decision or an order from Lu Jinnian.

Her screen time for the drama was neither too little nor too much. It wasn't a major role but it wasn't a filler either. But it was definitely a thousand times better than her previous role.

Since the role was obtained through undignified means, the audition was just a formality. Directly after it, she signed the contract. 　

Three days later, Qiao Anhao officially joined the crew, just a day after Lu Jinnian had flown off to Rome to film a new movie. The married couple of two months went their separate ways.

Three months later...

After three months of filming 'To the End of Time', the television drama successfully finished off in a rented mansion worth thirty million dollars. The whole crew erupted in joy, the happiest being the director. He picked up his phone and generously booked the top floor dining hall of Jing Cheng hotel, treating the whole crew to a celebratory meal. 　　

'To the End of Time' ended around 3 pm in the afternoon. The technical crew needed to pack up their equipment and the actors needed to remove their makeup and change, hence the celebratory meal was set at night, around 8 pm. 　

Lu Jinnian had been in Rome all that time due to the filming of his new movie. Using the limited two day break in-between his tight schedule, he returned to the country to settle sudden issues arisen in the company.

Due to the time constraint, Lu Jinnian barely had any time to rest from the long flight. Right after landing in Bei Jing international airport, he went straight to the company.

Without time wasted, the meeting started the minute he entered. The board had already gathered and was waiting for his arrival. 　

The meeting lasted from 3 pm in the afternoon all the way till 6 pm at night. Lu Jinnian's assistant followed him into his office and gave a run-down of his schedule.

After the long flight and a meeting that lasted the whole afternoon, Lu Jinnian looked exhausted. Sitting in his office, he casually took out the phone he had on silent while listening to his assistant report his schedule.

Just as he was about to lock his phone, a message came in. Lu Jinnian smoothly clicked it open, "'To the End of Time' filming completed. There'll be a celebratory banquet tonight at 8 pm in Jing Chen hotel.. Do drop by if you have the time!"
