Year 2078

Our world has been set into a hell. We lost a lot of lives and everyone suffer through the hell. A virus that come from nowhere infected random people and turned them into a different person. Some of then turned into a dangeroys monster that eat human and animal. Not just human, even an animal could be dangerous when they were infected.

My name is Liez Caryon, 20 years old. Still growing. I have a normal life, nothing bad happened to me. Well that was because I and the other survivor are living in a safe place where a wall was built to avert some disaster like virus speading. The wall was still in building process and it just 25 meter tall. The wall first build ay 2025 said by my mother. She was just a kid that time when he witness the wall on build and getting taller at 2047 when she turned 17. I was born when my mother turned 28. My father died because of the natural disease he suffered. My mother is still alive. She was hanging a clothes outside since it's morning today. I was doing my job helping people building the wall as usual. We planned to make it 50 meter tall. So I and the others helped each other collecting resource from the outside. We wears an equipment like masks, a clothes with no space for the air to get in so the virus will never get in, we also brought a weapon. Why? Because we got an enemy.

Outside of the wall, there is people who are infected and turned into a monster. There was also a greedy people who want to steel resource from others. That one was the one we're hoping to never come or none of us ever become one. We've fought one before. They lose but they said they'll returned and destroy this place. So I was worried at first but its been 2 years and they never came. Maybe not now, maybe when they are ready to collapse us again. In my place, we got different kind of genius. We got a doctor, a scientist, an engineer, an architect, a builder, a fighter, an archer, a collector and more genius. Even some of a normal civillian here is a genius. But everyone have to act for their duty, except me! Why I'm free? That because, my father was the ruler of this place. We named it The Caryon Fortress ruled by Caryon family. Now my father has died, my older brother took over it. Don't worry, he's a genius like the other. I'm just a regular person who worked with others. Well my brother is 27 years old. He's 7 years older than me.

The other day, I went to the main bulding where I and my family live. The building is almost like how an empire era is. It was like a castle, byt a bit smaller than how it was in a movie. Before my father died, he told me that this castle took 30 years to finish since that time only a few people know how to work properly and just a few architect working on build. We collected a new survivor right after the wall finished the first process, 25 meter.

By the way, I've never fight one of the monster yet and only got to see them from far away. I don't know how they attack us all and how they infected us. I've lack of experience on fighting. But hey, I did learn some fighting style tho. I also love to learn archery, especially when I got to learn it with my favorite archer, Qathrine, she was a leader of the archer guild. But she's just a year older than me. Our relationship is almost like a sibling. But we end being student and teacher. I learn a lot of bow technique from her. She wasn't originally from here. She was found outside without mask, surviving alone. At first, she was being told to be infected since she was found without wearing mask. Virus can get people infected through air. But she become someone like an importanr key for doctors. As the main doctor of our place, Doctor Scale, did a theory that the virus are dead during a minutes after getting out from the host body. It was just a theory from the doctor, not really confirmed. It was all because of Qathrine's existence, our fortress recieved a lot of hope to go outside and explore around. But that dream need to be perfect, so our fortress made a guild of different army just like what I mention. What guild am I in? I'm free by the way. I can just leave the guild and join the other one.

So inside the building, everything has been decorated and colored. It look as beautiful as view of the morning day. Thanks to Mr. Yirez for helping my brother for decorating and giving an idea about how that and this suppose to look like. It was all part of the genius mind of Mr. Yirez. Both with my brother too but he's good at ruling. So that's the reason why my brother was choosen. Well, I came to this castle because it was finished and my brother have a meeting of the 11 genius person. I wasn't included. I was invited because I'm part of his family. While walking through a hall to find a room where the meeting was supposed to be, I saw the 2 genius walking infront of me. Mazeth and Cruise, both of them is walking together. Since we have a meeting, I should follow them from behind. Turned out while following them from behind, they were whispering about a trash. Trash that has been fiilled max the storage. I heard all their conversation. Look like this topic will be the first important topic to be discussed. Right when we enter the room, there turned out I'm the last person to be in. Well I'm not part of the genius. My brother standing right infront of us and welcoming us to the meeting. My brother start to introduce himself even though he was known well in this place.

"Welcome everyone, its nice to see all of you here. I'm the ruler of this fortress, Azus Caryon. The purpose of this meeting is to make this rendezvous as our time to share topic and settle 'em together."

Just like how I predicted, the topic of these two would likely be one of the problem we'll deal with. Everyone there each to each person introduce themselves until my turn and that one lady who I've never seen before.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Juliet Narold. I'm the 11th genius. I took part of the economy system. Thats my job from now on as the genius here."

As she introduced herself to us, she sat down and stares at all the genius. The meeting was about to start. My brother, the ruler of this fortress allowed us to share a problem about this place. I was waiting for that, but no one was raising their hand. When my brother was about to say something, Juliet raised her hand. My brother than gave her a permission to talk.

"So the problem I'm going to talk about is about a pile of garbage has been filled the storage and reached it's limit."

Finally, these 2 Genius is too slow. Mazeth, Cruise, are you really a Genius? Mazeth genius of war, Cruise genius of academic. I don't understand their situation but really, this is the first meeting. Its like why not you share some problem you got. Now she took it. She'll get the appreciate word, not you two.

"As you heard, a storage where a trash are filled has been full. Some of the trash are fell out from the storage. We need to make a garbage removal activity. We need a worker that can go outside and throw it as far as they can if the place didn't have a monster over there."

Looks like I got a job. I wanna do it with the other. So I have to bring all the plastic of garbage outside eh. Its a simple task but we have to throw it far away so its gonna be like 5km from the fortress.

The first meeting went just for 1 topic. The problem that was shared by Juliet will be under her care. 5 of the archer and 10 of the fighter with sword was sent to the Garbage Removal team. I later joined them as I had nothing to do. Life without a job is really bad. I experienced it since kid, having no work make me gone crazy since I only have 3 friends and we barely meet each other. A date system is still the same. Today is 13 March 2078. Nothing special about it. My mother will moved to this castle and find her own room. We've discussed before with my brother about having a new family member, a new father. We disagreed so we never had a new father. That was also how my brother become a ruler of the fortress.

The trash that was piled on the ground will be brought out from the fortress. I and the other who participated in this activity is ready to go outside the wall. Before we went out, the guard above the wall take a look at the outside if it safe or not. There was nothing dangerous outside, so we're safe to open the door. Everyone was ready to go outside. We've equiped full clothes anti-virus made by Doctor Scale. The door slowly open to route us outside. The car full of a garbage was drove by 2 horses. We also brought some weapon for our safety even though we've never been in battle with those infected.

When we arrived the place, looking at the area, looking safe. We put all the garbage on the ground. It smells pretty bad though. So we went back to the fortress to bring another group of garbage, or rather a trash. After a few attempts, the trash storage is now completely empty. Even if the storage is still filled with some leftovers garbage, atleast it's good to put more of useless things inside there.

After the problem about the full garbage storage are solved, everything went normal again. There is no threat yet.

Right after that day, I met Cathrine again. I planned to train myself as an archer. I asked Cathrine to train me. So then I got an archery lesson after that. Coming to her place everyday make me feel happy. Why? I have a crush on her. But I still didn't plan on making a move. I just like to be on her side, thats all. I though that I need to wait as long as I can as a single person with no partner. I feel safe to be like that because my brother is also not married yet. He will turn 30 years old later in 2 years and he don't even have a girlfriend. So I really don't care when and whoever. Its not a big problem for now since I'm still young. But hey, I had a plan for the next update of the fortress system. Yeah just like the title.

When I was on my training with Cathrine for the 3rd days, I brought a food and it wasn't just for myself. I was planning to brought the food for her too. I cooked the food by myself, learning it since I was a kid thanks to my mom. When I arrived to the training place, I saw her with the master of the arrow, the king of archer. They were talking to each other. At first, I was a bit jealous. But then realized, she was talking about something. Something that I don't like...

"Zega, you are going to train him from today until he become an expert. I got my first biggest mission. So I leave my responsibility to you."

"Why don't you just let me do that job?"

"I'm bored and never got a challenge. Let me have one. You've done a lot of work since the time you found me and rescued me."

"No.. Not that time.. I was just a teenager that time.. Around 15? Yeah like that.. I'm on my 30s. I might look old but I'm suitable for the mission you're on.."

"No thanks.. I'm going."

When she head to the opposite way, she didn't saw me. Look like she was so focus on her new mission that she didn't saw me while turning. Not even sense my presence. That wasn't the real problem. The real problem is the food I brought for her (-_-) yeah am a bit disappointed but I changed my intention and planning to gave the food to Zega the King of Archer.

Turned out Zega saw my face and immediately commented on my feeling.

"Your face... Looking like a disappointed expression.. Oh. a food.. You're going to give it to me?"

"Uh.. Hm... Yes.."

"Oh I see.. You tried to give her this right? Give it to her. She hasn't had breakfast yet. She woke up immediately at morning received a mission."

I got a chance to give it to her? But man... She's far away from where I stood now. Wait. I'll take that as a training section. I need to regain my speed so that I'll be fast at shooting an arrow.

So after that, I chase her fron behind. I put my bravery side to front of my soul then put my shy side inside. I made myself brave.

"Ah! Cathrine! Wait a minute.. I have something to give to you.."

"Eh? Liez? When did you arrive? Hmm? What is this?"

"A breakfast I made for you..."

"Wait a minute.. What food was in?"

"Your favorite food, teacher. You told me.. You haven't breakfast yet, wasn't you? Take it.."

"Oh.. This is the first time you give me food.. Were you really the one who made it? Or was it your mother?"

"Not really.... I made it myself. I learned cooking since I was a kid. I never told you that before since our first met."

"Really? If that so.. I'll take it.. I'll eat it when I'm on the car. Thanks by the way.."

"You're welcome.. Uh.. Are you on a mission?"

"Yes.."

"Then goodluck to you! As a student, your mission could be the example of the training for me to see.. If I can follow you.."

"Oh.. It was a big mission do I wouldn't allowed.. By the way, I don't have enough time. Can I go now?"

"Oh.. Yeah... Sorry for interupting your way to the mission."

"You gave me a food. Guess that's enough.."

Wait that mean, my forgiveness aren't accepted at first but since I gave her food, she forgive me? Wow... I learned alot about her..

"Alright! Goodluck, teacher. Hope you're succesful on the mission. Since its a biggest mission, be carefull..."

"Thanks for your concern. Goodluck to you too on the training with Zega.."

That was the conversation. I was worried at first. But since she's a pro archer, she's not gonna be that easy to get taken down. She learned martial arts too so no need to worry more.

I choose to learn archery first, martial art later. We still working on making a gun ammo. So I'm not gonna get to train myself in gun training at first. But since I learn archery, the gun shooting training would be easy for me. I then started an archery lesson with Zega. It's quite hard. But that ain't stopping me.

Literally hard... Unlike Cathrine. She's a bit soft.. Zega! Don't always hit me in the head when I miss a shot! I find it rude for me. I have hair, you ain't! That's a revenge!

After the training, I took a rest a bit with Zega. Zega sat right beside me and staring at a group of archer.. A girls.. Is he... A pervert? Exactly! He love to watch woman archer. He always stares at them. But not at Cathrine.. Why? Nevermind, that make it safe. Atleast she doesn't stares at her. If he did, I'll train so hard just to hit him with an arrow.

Just kidding.

The next day, I got invited again to meet my brother living in the castle. The room for my brother, me and my mother has been prepared by Mr Yirez. Now my family can stay inside the castle. The house we've been staying on for years will be left alone and gave it to anyone who wanted a place to live.

When I arrived to the meeting room, I only saw myself and my brother around the room. Only 2 of us. At first I thaugh the other are late for some reason. After I asked him, turned out he only invite me in this meeting. We then started our conversation.

"So what do you want to talk about in our meeting?"

"Do you have any suggestion for the 11 Genius of the Fortress?"

"What? What kind of suggestion?"

"Any update for them. Like.. Rank?"

"Rank? Wait.. If you want to talk about that, why don't you invite the others to talk about this together?"

"You know more than us, Liez. You have a knowledge of the past world. You read the history book. We all didn't. You found the book history and read it in our old house, isn't it?"

"Yes... So what?"

"I want you to suggest any update contained from the book you read for our fortress system."

"Hmmm.. Sure! I have one thing to suggest actually."

Time to shine.. Right? Hope he like it..

"So, what is it? I want to know how genius you are."

"Well before that, is this a test? Are you trying to made me the 12th Genius? Instead of Dr Scale, Mr Yirez and more genius people here?"

"Actually yes it is a test to see how clever you're. But not because I want to rank you the 12th Genius."

"That's the answer I want. So here the suggestion. Rank for the 12- I mean 11 Genius.. Oh wait.. Or rather a name for them..."

"A name for the 12 Genius? Interesting.."

"......Minister!"

"Minister?"

From that moment, the 11 Genius name are changed into a Minister.

Hours after the meeting, Cathrine, finally back from her mission. She look a bit messy. A bit-ripped clothes, a scratches on her body and face, her hair without a ponytail, broken bow and there was no arrow on her back yet maybe she lost it while doing it. Look like it true that she was on a biggest mission. She look okay but she also looking so tired. At the moment she almost fall to the ground, I came caught her and hold her.

"Are you okay?"

The only question I asked to her. I was curious about her mission. How bad and big the mission that make her look that bad. And does the other safe tho?

Answer: All of them are safe, but half are injured badly.

I brought her to the small hospital. She got a treatment from the doctor. I was glad she comeback alive. Nothing fears me now. Hope she never had such big mission in the future later. When I was looking at her from the outside of the treatment room throught the glass window. Long after that, the doctor gave me the news about her condition. "Her condition was not bad. She just suffer a fever. She'll be okay in a days. No forbidden virus detected in her body. You can go in visit her" Said the doctor. The doctor then leave, and another one coming. That was Zega.

"Hey! Liez!"

He exhausted from running.

"Eh. Zega.. What are you doing here?"

"WhAt dO yUO mEAn WHat aM I dOinG HeRe?! I'm here to check her out!"

"Oh.. So you're coming to visit her too..."

"Ofcourse I am! I'm the king of archer, supposed to take responsibility for the Queen too. If she's not okay, I've to come and check. Then help her and avenge her."

"You're.. Nicest King..."

"Eh.. What did you say?"

"Nevermind, lets take a look on her.."

Both of us went inside the treatment room. We both stand beside of her body. Looking at her and then stares at the.. King.. Zega...

He was looking at the weird place. No.. At the forbidden place. Alright! I got a proof that he is a pervert. Also his face turned red. So he is! Don't debate me that he is a good person.

"Ah... You two.. Why are you here.. Liez.. Not in training?"

"No, I've trained. Its a simple training ever! Zega's training for me isn't as tough as you.. Its simple as heck."

"Oi! What do you mean?! You truly did suffer and exhausted. I went hard on you. What the heck?!"

"You guys really, huh... Zega.. Thanks for replacing me as Liez's trainer. Liez.. Who do you prefer? Me or him?"

"I prefer your training."

"Why?"

"I like the way you train me. Unlike him. He went a bit harsh on me, its unforgiveable. He's so angry that I past all the training he gave me."

"Hah?! You're lying right?!"

"Haha~ So.. Liez.. You're an interesting person. Are you just choose whoever you like?"

"No. It was from how you train me and how he did."

"Oh okay.."

"Alright, Cathrine. See you later. I'm going to take a look on our members."

Lie! He's going to look at woman's booba and booty. He is a pervert, Cahtrine!

I asked her these questions. What mission was her on? What did she do? How did she end up like this? She answers all of my questions and told me all the story.

After that I left her resting on the treatment room. I went to the castle and visit my new room.

"Beautiful!"

The decoration of the room is quite impressive. Nothing are bad. It's very neat!

Episode - 3 Vehicle

I was sleeping in my room in the castle alone. At that time, I had a dream. A very weird dream. I dreamed a woman standing by my side. The figure of her body and face wasn't clear. I can't see her look, but I act like I know her. To say she was Cathrine, she look way different than the shadow of the woman in my dream. In that dream, she went away and she spoke clearly for the first time I heard. The way she talked, she sound very sweet, like an innocent girl. I can't compare her with Cathrine. I don't even know where was I that time. I don't remember it slowly and then I woke up.

"Eh?"

My first word after the dream.

Today's current date was 5 May 2078 and it was morning. I woke up at that time, thinking what was about that dream. It's weird and unthinkable. Its like the woman in the dream is some kind of hint of what come on the future. If that's true, I would be excited first. But I'm still thinking about Cathrine. I don't want to put Cathrine away for now. If that woman really did exist, I'll be happy but also confussed about which of them should I end up with. I mean... Both Cathrine and the woman in my dream.

Ah stop thinking about it.

I shut myself from thinking about the dream I was on lately. I went to change and have a shower, wear my clothes and went outside to see Cathrine in the hospital.

When I was on my way to the hospital. I was still walking on the route where it head to the hospital. But then one of the genius came approached me from behind.

"Stop!"

"Huh?"

I got startled a bit. The person that went to see me was Mr. Garhae. He's the 3rd Genius in the list. I never had conversation with him before. He had a skill of doing a mechanic thing like creating a vehicle. "Oh.. Mr. Garhae.. What are you doing here?" I asked him. "Mr?! It's Minister! Minister Garhae. A new nickname for us Genius!" Said Mr- I mean Minister Garhae. Yeah, that nickname is now officially used for the Genius. Now he's gonna asked me a favor for something.

"So why did you come here to see me?"

"Can you help me? Would you like to be on this secret mission?"

"Huh? Secret mission?"

"Uhmm. Let me explain. This mission isn't as dangerous as your fri- I mean, the archer queen's mission. This is like a simple thing for you to do. You only need to go and find the thing I asked. I received some report that there was a car factory near our fortress and yep every people I asked to go there to search up a car battery are scared."

"Oh. So... You want me to go there?"

"Yeah.."

"Alone?"

"Uh.. Nope. I'll be there too! With some of my crew member! Don't worry! Don't be scared! I'll come with you... Yeah.."

"I'm not scared."

"Eh.. You not scared? OMG you're so different than the other!"

"But before I decide, can I ask you?"

"Sure!"

"Have you asked King Archer, Zega, for help on your mission?"

"Oh.. Yeah I did."

"So he refused?"

"Yeah."

"Hah... Man... Seriously.. Then I'll go on that mission.."

"Wait what?! Really? OMG I can't wait for the battery. I can't wait to test my new vehicle with different design!"

"I had something to do today. Don't you see where I'm going?"

"Oh.. Ah.. Sorry.. For interupting your way. Okay! I've something to prepare, see ya when you are ready for the secret mission."

What so secret about it? It's kind of like hope for us to travel everywhere. Whatever, I'll tell my brother about this for permission..

And yeah, I accepted the request from Minister Garhae. I continued my way to the hospital to visit Cathrine.

And when I arrived...

"Ah.. You did very good at the mission!"

"Without you, all of us are dead!"

"Casha, Renha, Eres. All three of you did a good job on the mission.."

I'm a bit shy to get into their conversation but... Should I wait? Looks like her condition is getting well.

So I decided to join them.

"Oh hello... Uh.. Good morning... Eres.. Casha.. Renha. All three of you are also here.."

"Oh! Good morning, Liez." - Eres

"Hey.. You should knock the door first before going in.. What if we are doing something you should not see?" - Casha

"Let me think. If you guys are doing something, shouldn't you guys atleast close the window?" - Liez

"Um.. You're right.. You're such a Genius.." - Renha

"Alright! Alright! Everyone.. Stop fighting.." - Cathrine

"Sorry!" - Eres, Renha & Casha

The conversation between them three and me stop a bit there. I and Cathrine started talking

"So.. Good morning, Liez.."

"Good morning.. Ah.. How are you?"

"I'm good. My fever has gone. But still tired. I need some rest.."

"Yeah.. You should."

Actually, I brought a food I made again for her.

"You must eat a breakfast."

"Oh.. Thank you but.. I they also brought a food for me.."

"I have a.. something to talk with her. So please leave now. Go train yourself."

"Aww.!!! Can't believe he order us-"

"Just leave, you three.." Cathrine gave speech.

"OH! Okay!"

"I win, you win. We're tie. No one win. Next time we'll win!" - Casha

"Sure..These kids.. Bruh.." - Liez

So after that, the three of them leave and now only two of us left. I started to talk to her about the mission I got. I told her that I got first ever mission. But not just that, it was a secret(no need to) mission. I asked her if I can borrow the bow and some arrow. But she then asked me to explain the mission. After she hears my explaination, she recommended me to use a sword rather than a bow. I asked her why, she explained it that bow is for the far range, sword is fit for this mission. She then told me to asked the king of swordmen, Owel, to get a sword for me. I have nothing to say, just accepted it. I was a bit frustated because I didn't learn using a sword a lot. I only took it with Iris. She's also a beginner but man she knew how to use a sword. She's on the same age as me. She also born in this fortress. She really love to be a swordwomen. So she became one. And after that, I leave. Cathrine wishes me goodluck and I saw her smile, cute smile. It cured me a bit from being frustated. Now I grew confidence and took a sword from the king of swordmen.

After arriving to the swordmen area, the place was a bit scary. Every people there are bigger than me. All of them has a big, muscular body. Their arm is too big compare to me. I wonder what kind of training do they've been through that make themselve look so big. I wanna be like that too but man I can't imagine myself being that big.

When I was finding the swordmen king, Owel, I met Iris. Iris looking a bit sad there. She was standing there watching a grave of his old friend, Pieck. What I know about them is both of them has a crush on each other since they are teenager. How do I know? Cuz Pieck told me himself secretly, while she also tell me secretly too. To be honest, actually I have a feeling on Iris. But since I heard she has a crush on Pieck, I gave up on her. I wanted them to end up together but 3 years ago, Pieck died on his first mission with her. Pieck and Iris both a well trained swordmen before. Iris has become an expert today.

Back to the current situation, she really did missed him so much. She even visit his grave untill now. Oh yeah, should I interrupt?

"Oh.. Hi Liez. What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in Archery training? Oh wait, I forgot your trainer are in a not well condition."

"Oh well.. She recover so fast. She'll be good tomorrow I guess. I have a mission today."

"Oh a mission? What kind of mission you got? Isn't this is your first mission?"

"Yep. You know, Mr Garhae, he asked me a help to search up a car battery. I don't even know how it look like. I didn't read a book connected with mechanic things."

"You're a genius on your own. But Car Battery, huh? There is some car we got, you've never saw them before?"

*Grab the car battery out from the car engine and gave it to me*

"I'm afraid you forgot how it look like when you're on your mission. Take it. Now wait here. I'm calling all the selected member for this mission."

After all of that, we went on a mission.
