It was in a beautiful, luscious garden on the day of April second when I was 6 years old. I was fascinated with butterflies at this age as was any other girl my age..

I was admiring this gorgeous butterfly when all of a sudden I heard a soft cry. It was a girl ,younger than I, coming up to me and she tugged on my shirt

Her name was Shay & she told me how she was upset that she couldn’t find her brother, so naturally I helped her look for him.

Luckily we found him under a tree reading a book and I thought he was cute to be a boy but I found it strange he had gray hair

It was odd for a boy our age to have gray hair so I just stared at it, so entranced that I didn’t hear Shay say thank you nor did I hear her trying to introduce me
Shay
I tugged her, “Sis, this is my brother Brandon and bro this is ummmm... what’s your name?” I tapped her again but she was staring at my brother and I just laughed lightly
Brandon
“I can introduce myself Shay and my goodness where have you been this whole time & why on earth did you bring an odd stranger this way?” She’s totally staring at my hair
Shay
“Bro don’t be so mean. She helped me find you,” I said while smiling a big one
Diamond
“I was staring cause I think the color of your hair is strange mister. I just wanted to help you but now that it’s done I should get going so mom won’t be mad.”
Shay
“Oh well sis thank you. Maybe we can play next time.”
Brandon
Now that I think about it, she is cute. I wonder if she’s my age. She looks like she could be. I was staring and didn’t hear any of the words being exchanged between those two. I saw her smile tho

“By the way, my name is Diamond. And I would love to play next time.” I waved goodbye and started to walk off when suddenly her brother said something .
Brandon
“Well thanks for helping my sister.” I rubbed the back of my neck while saying so
Diamond
He looked so shy while rubbing his neck and it was so cute I just wanted to laugh so I giggled a little. “How old are you?”
Brandon
Why was she laughing. I don’t understand. She asked our ages, “I’m 6 & she’s 3.”
Diamond
“Oooo I’m 6 too & next time don’t wander too far from your sister.” I ran away wondering maybe if I’d see them any other time. I stopped to look at the butterflies once again before I left.
Diamond
To my surprise, there was a boy holding a butterfly on his index finger.
Damon
I’d seen a very pretty girl walking up to me. I could tell she was interested in the butterfly on my finger and curious to know how
Diamond
“Hello. I haven’t seen you before.”
Diamond
He also had strange hair. I was wondering what was going on today. His hair was blue. “what’s your name?”
Damon
“I’m Damon Crass & I’m new around here. We just moved here actually around the corner and I wanted to explore my new surroundings. What’s your name?”
Diamond
He sounded so smart . “I’m Diamond and I live around the corner too. I think this garden is so pretty and the butterflies too. They make me happy.”
Diamond
“I was on my way home and wanted to see the garden before I left . I’ll be on my way now. See you around Damon.”
Diamond
I was in for a little news now after but that’s how this all started.
Friendly Competition
Damon
“Hey dad, can I go to the park?”
Mr. Crass
“Sure kid, come back before nightfall because we’re leaving out early in the morning.”
Damon
“Okay see you later”
*walks out the apartments*

I wonder if Diamond will be there today
All Damon could think about was if he was going to see Diamond
Brandon
“Mom I’m going to the park now”
Brandon
“I’ll be back before supper”
Mrs. Hall
“Okay, hun. See you.”

I was running so fast out of the door that I bumped into a kid with blue hair outside

“Ouch!” I rubbed my head. A kid just ran into me & why does he have gray hair

“Sorry bro & I have gray hair because I was born like this. Why do you have blue hair,huh?”

Cant believe I said that out loud . “Just watch where you’re going next time bro.”
They both went in the direction of the park quietly

“Are you following me bro?”
Damon
“What?? No. I’m going to the park.”
Brandon
“Oh, bro me too. We might as well get to know each other then. I’m Brandon, how about you?”
Damon
“I’m Damon. I just moved here around the street to Centry Hill Apartments.”
Brandon
“Oh cool. So I guess I’ll be seeing you often.”
Brandon
“We should hang out.”
Damon
“Yep you definitely will & sure.”
They arrived at the park and found Diamond staring at her butterflies.
They both took steps, walking towards her..
They noticed they were going in the same direction and looked at each other
Brandon
“Do you know her?”
Now the competition has started
They raced to her & even thought it can never be true. They arrived at the same time to Diamond

I was shocked when I saw those 2 weird haired boys run up to me. I laughed, “oh hello you 2. Damon & Brandon right?”
Diamond
“Where’s your sister today? You didn’t wander off on her again did you?”
Brandon
“Ha, no. I’m alone today.”
Damon
“Umhum, I noticed you liked butterflies. Do you come here often?”
Diamond
“Yes I do. I love butterflies. They are so pretty & it keeps me busy since dad is working & mom is cleaning.” I smiled
The competition may have already started but this is where it officially began
Diamond
I laughed, “haha ok. That’s great, we can all be friends now.”
Catching Practices
Everyone’s in Centry Hill High School now
Coach Blake
“Brandon get over here on the line & run it!”
Brandon
“Coach you’re gonna give me more gray hair if you keep this up,” I said jokingly.
Coach Blake
“Well that’s impossible since your entire head is already gray.”
Brandon
“If you say so coach. Time me.”
1, 2, 3, pow 💥!! He took off running
Brandon was the star of the track team & his times got better by the week
Recruiters all around the world came together watch his games
There was one in the stands watching now at practice
Shay
“My brother is getting better by the day it seems. It doesn’t even phase him anymore”
Shay
“I don’t even think he gets tired & neither do the recruiters. Just look at him.”
Diamond
“Me either.” I looked to our right & saw a guy in his 30’s watching Brandon
Shay
“The time is really flying.”
Diamond
“Oh, I better get going.”
Diamond
“SEE YOU LATER, BRANDON!! Run, Run, Run!!”
Shay
“Where are you going?”
Diamond
“I promised Damon that I’d catch his practice, too. I have to go Shay. See you later & be careful. Text me when you get home safe. Love ya.”

“Ok, luv ya too & you too. See ya.”

That girl is gonna break a sweat going from the track field to the football field
So Diamond races to the football field just in time to catch Damon running a play
Damon was the star quarterback at 15
Everyone admired him & Brandon. Some were even envious

“Oh I made it just in time.”
Damon
I waved at Diamond with a big smile.
Mr. Nickens
“Hey kid, eyes on the field and not a girl who keeps rejecting you, we’re running a blitz this time.”
Damon
“Don’t forget you need me & I don’t need you. & you have no room to talk about me when all those weight loss plans keep rejecting you. You should get out here & run, coach.”
Everyone says “oooooh, burnnn.”
Mr. Nickens
“Haha, very funny says the kid with sour patch kid hair. You look like a blue raspberry sucker but the only catch is you don’t get sucked on.”
“Woahhhhh, he got you bro.”
Damon
“Reject.” I mumbled. “Let’s run it so I can go home, I’m hungry.”
Diamond
“Oh you’re finally done.” I yawned, “are you sore?”
Damon
“Ha it’s nice you’re worried about me when you’re so tired. Sorry I made you promise but I haven’t seen you in a couple days. Ready to go home?”
Diamond
“It’s ok that you missed me, I do too & Sure.”

“Damon let’s meet up with Shay & Brandon so we can all walk home. They’re practicing at the football field but practice ends at the same time for you guys.”
Damon
“I could never tell you no so let’s go see the sister & her knucklehead brother,” I said grimly.
Diamond
“Don’t be like that, please.”
Damon
“Yea yea you got it.”
So Diamond made her way back to the football accompanied by Damon
Brandon
“Well look what the diamond dragged in.”
Diamond
“Be nice,” I said rolling my eyes.
Brandon
“What’s up bro, long time no see.”
Damon
“What’s up Usain Bolt?”
Shay & Diamond instantly laugh
Brandon
I mugged them. she’s my sister so she’s supposed to be on my side

“Ok guys let go home.”
Shay
“I’m actually going to Bianca’s house. I’ll see the throuple later.” I giggled while running off & looking back to send kisses
Brandon
“I’m gonna kill her one day.”
Diamond
“Hahahaha, lets go. Are we stopping somewhere to eat first or are we going straight home?”
Damon & Brandon looked at each other first then at a smiling Diamond & both said..
Diamond
“It’s up to me? Okay let’s go to Marie’s Diner then.”
Diamond
“My treat this time then.”
& so they went to Marie’s Diner for tonight..
