It's January, James and Olivia with her only daughter Ava had arrived to their new home in Boston. Ava was 20 years old and was mute(dumb) since she was born, she didn't like coming to new place but she had no other option as her father got transferred. Everything thing was new for them, it might take some time for them to get sorted out. James was carrying luggage into their house, a man came to James and asked if he can do some help James replied it's fine and asked who was he, that person said he is their neighbour lives in the next house to theirs with his wife. Ava was watching them and listening. Ava's mom Olivia called her and said that she and her father had to attend a function so they have to leave Ava alone for a day.

It was Friday morning, news was spreading that a psycho is in the city killing people and everyone were warned not to go out alone after 9pm. James and Olivia had to attend a function at new jersey on Friday night so they left Ava alone and started early as it was snowing. Time has passed It was 7:30 pm Ava was alone home watching TV suddenly door bell rings, Ava goes to the door and checked who was that through the peek hole but she saw no one she ignored it went back to living room and started watching TV again but now the door bell rings again, she goes to the door and opens it, she saw her friend Emily in the garden looking at flowers who came to Boston due to some work. They both went into the house and had fun for sometime. It was 9:30 pm Emily thought she had to leave, Ava asked her to stay till morning but Emily refused as she has some work to do.

Emily leaves and Ava closes the door, Ava goes to the kitchen starts cooking food for her on a gas stove as there was a problem in the electric stove, she closed the lid on the pan and went to the living room and started watching tv. it's 10 pm the bell rings Ava went to the door and checked through the peek hole but she saw no one then she opens the door to check whether it's Emily again but suddenly the pan in the kitchen sets on fire she realised she forgot about it and ran towards kitchen. She turns off the stove keeps the fire down and goes to the living room then she realised that she left the door open and closes it. She goes back to living room, sat on the couch heard a bell sound it was from the phone on the table infront of couch it's her friends phone Ava thought Emily forgot her mobile phone and checked what was the sound, there was a message but it was from Ava's phone. She opened it and there was a photo, a photo of Ava watching TV which was taken from the window in the living room. Ava was terrified for a sec and thought it was Emily who was trying to scare her and started checking where is her phone. She couldn't find her mobile hence she thought of making a call to her phone with Emily mobile. phone was ringing, the sound was coming outside the window, Ava went to the window and saw her friend lying dead on the ground with Ava's phone she was shocked and went out, she tried to go to her friend lying dead but suddenly a man in black dress started running towards her with a gun she frightened and tried to run into the house. Ava ran into the house and tried to close The door but that person tried to pull the door back unexpectedly the door was slammed on Ava's hand. Ava had Emily's phone with her but it fell off when the door was slammed. Ava managed to close the door the person was standing outside the door. She thought the person took the phone when she opened the door and went to kitchen. Ava runs to her laptop so she could contact someone anyhow but then the power goes off.

Ava realises it was him who took the power and she had no option but should wait with hope untill someone will help. Ava took a knife from the kitchen sat in the living room closed all curtains. The person went to the window near the kitchen and was trying to break it, Ava noticed the man was trying to break the window at the same time the door bell rings again. A women asking whether everything was alright and told she lives in the house next to theirs, she told she heard some sounds and came to check. Ava got some hope went to the door and checked through the peek hole it was a women in night dress. she opened the door slowly and Ava made a gesture asking does she has a phone, the man started running towards them Ava notices him and pulls the neighbour into her house and locks the door. The neighbour said her phone is in her house.

Now both of them were locked. Ava asked whether there is some other person in her neighbours house. Her neighbour said she was the only person in the house as her husband left to newyork on work purpose. They started searching for anything that could help them. The person outside the house was trying to break in but it was difficult for him as every window had strong grilles. Ava got an idea she thought she should divert the person so that they can go to the neighbour's house and make a call. Ava took the car keys and clicked a button the car started making some sound loud. The person immediately ran towards the car as other neighbours could wake up and he tries to stop the sound. Ava and her neighbour opened the door and ran to neighbour's house as fast as possible the person saw them running and chased them both. they have entered the house but the person also broke into the house. The person leg has hit to the shoe rack and he fell down, the gun in his hand slipped and went near Ava's legs. Ava took the gun and warned him not to move. They both took him to the living room and said him to lie down. Ava warned him not to move and if so she will shoot him. Ava made a gesture to her neighbour to get the phone and call police, her neighbour went to get the phone. Ava thought she should tie the person and went near a wardrobe pointing gun at the person. She opened the door and was shocked. She saw two dead bodies in the wardrobe it was her neighbour who helped her father and his wife. Ava went back to the man and gestured who was he. He replied he was a thief and killed her friend as she shouted. Suddenly Ava's throat was cut by a knife Ava fell down saw a women who said she was her neighbour, with a knife and smile in her face Ava realises that the women is not her neighbour but the psycho killer, whom she thought the man was. The women took the gun in Ava's hand and shot the man, both died. A person who lives in next house came and asked whether everything is fine.

The women smiled.
