My name is Lily, and I am just a girl who wishes to live a normal life, my mom died in ****** cancer when I turned 5 years old. My father got remarried after 3 months since my mother died. Though I was only five years old, I clearly remember the last moment of my mother last moment. I couldn’t let go of my mother fingers, because I was too afraid of losing her. My dad kisses me on my forehead saying honey it’s gonna be OK. My stepmother was nice when my dad around but when my dad has gone to work she bullied me because I’m not her real daughter. I was always scared of my dad going to work since my dad married her. My dad started to get angry with me because my stepmom always bad mouths about me to my dad. After my mom died, I never smiled because I always thought that there’s no one who loves me. After a few years my dad adopted a girl named Victoria, she’s the daughter of my stepmom sister. Victoria parent died in an accident. Victoria was two years younger than me, because of her, I can smile again. My stepmom was treating us differently but that doesn’t matter because Victoria always makes me smiled so I was really happy to be with her. Victoria was a smart kid who always made others happy. Until I discovered that Victoria was an evil person who has two faces. From that on I don’t have anyone who can make me smile again. Victoria wants everything that belongs to me. I don’t talk to her so my dad got angry saying that I don’t consider her as a real sister. My eyes were filled with tears not because my dad scolded me, it because I missed my mom. After my die, my dad began to treat me like I’m a stranger in his life, all of that was because of my stepmom and Victoria acting in front of my dad. Though I know that my dad wants me to move on, I still can’t believe that he would marry someone else after three months since my mother died. My dad was like my hero before my mom died, he would always spend time with us because my mom sickness was becoming worse. But I didn’t expect that my dad would move on so fast. I tell myself that I’m going to be ok, but when things turn whirr... I know that I’m not ok. I am in middle school now, I kept telling myself “life is not fair, get used to it” by Bill Gates. I have learned to get used to something though I don’t really want to but that’s life, I’m sure that I am not the only one in this world who suffers like this. I’m now starting high school tomorrow, I heard that dolly jolly is gonna be there too. (if you don’t know what dolly jolly is, it’s a nickname I gave to someone who’s special to me and the meaning was “ my happiness” it also has another meaning “craziness”.

One day after school, it was a bright and peaceful day but life is not as it seems. I never thought that even if I don’t like my stepmother, my dad would send me far away from him. My dad who never picked me up after school since my mom died, he did today. So I was really happy inside but the first word he said to me when I got in the car was that he is sending me abroad.

I tried to argue with him but I know that my word won’t make anything difference. Since this is what he came up with his onced beloved daughter I decided to go there without any complaint. I don’t hate him because he was once my hero. As I was thinking my dad suddenly hugged me - I started to cry as I heard my dad voice saying I’m sorry my princess.  Then I realized that my dad was not also living a great life but he was also suffering from losing his wife so he decided to marry a woman because he didn't want to lead his life to be sad so he decided to move on.

The last word my dad told me was a word that I will never forget 520 in hand sign which basically means I love you. My dad usually uses this hand sign when he feels really sad and doesn’t have the courage to sound it out loud. I told myself. “For the sake of dad, I’ll try my best to fulfill his expectation”. I also hand signal 520 back to him but my voice can’t be calmed down that I started to hear my voice screaming.

 I LOVE YOU SO MUCH DAD!

I was sad leaving these beautiful memories I have in here with beautiful people like mom, dad and my dolly jolly. Hoping these will be for the better, time just passes quickly. Now it was already ten years that I’ve been aboard and I lost contact with my dad for a few months so I decided to come back to the beautiful memories that I can’t forget even for a single day.

On the way to the airport I saw an old lady who’s being robbed but she didn't even notice it so I shouted as loudly as I could to let the lady know that she’s being robbed. “A thief!!”.  She noticed me and with a surprise she checked her purse but her wallets were missing so she tried to catch the thief but the security noticed immediately.

The thief was arrested by the security and that lady got back her wallets so I tried to go back to get my stuff! Suddenly, the lady reached my hand and asked my name. I thought it was strange because this lady looks so familiar but I couldn’t figure out who it is. I told her “my name is Lily” with an awkward smile. She replied “ thank you so much young lady, if it’s not for you I might have been in big trouble”.

It’s ok, I would do the same if it's happened to someone because I can’t stand people ambitious with other wealth.  I greeted her saying that I have to return quickly to get my stuff! Her voice was so soft when she said “ if you live in China, I hope there will be a chance to meet you again so I can thank you properly”. I said Mama it’s ok, but I hope to meet you again in China. With that I run to get my luggage.

As I arrived, my eyes were teary with relief that I have endured so much. A Lot of places have changed but it is still beautiful as my memory in the past 10 years. I said to myself “ you’ve done a good job Lily”. You can start your life from here from now on.
