It was middle of the night, around 12:30 as jungkook walked on the roadside. His 17 year old mind tired of all the pressure he was weighing right now
His shift at the convenience store ended a little late today but he didn't mind. He didn't know leaving his village to pursue studies in cities would tire him this much.
The road was mostly empty , only stray dogs or the beggar that sleeps there daily, sometimes some old men but it was mostly empty and silent
He halted in his steps when he heard whispers and Cries of someone.
He looked in the alley and saw three kids, who looked around 8-9 years old crying on the road. He rushed there startling the kids

I..I am not going to hurt you . Why are you crying?
Jk asked as he crouched down , looking at the teary faces of kids
The kid couldn't speak properly because of crying
A part in jk broke as he saw the kid crying, immediately taking him in his arms to soothe him

Jk said in a sweet voice as he tried to calm him down. The cute kid did as told but tears didn't stop
Suddenly a hand clutched on Jk's arm and started dragging him to other end of alley.
What Jk saw made him gasp. A small building set on fire. Some people surrounding the building. The kid who was dragging Jk stopped and pointed at the part near the building
Jk immediately rushed towards the park and he let out a sob when a saw a small 4-5 year old kid injured and unconscious on the group, one more kid crying holding the baby

Jk tried his best not to cry , after he himself was a kid. He crouched near the baby and took him in his arms , getting up and looked at the other four kids looking up at him with hope and sad teary eyes. Jk didn't know this feeling before, this urge to protect someone. He has been living in Seoul for about two years now, alone. He shook his head and nodded towards the kids

Let's get him to hospital, is anyone injured as well?

Jk said as he took out his phone, Hyuningkai still in his other arm as he booked a cab. Fortunately the cab came in just 6-7 minutes
They rushed to the hospital, Jk kept checking the baby's pulse to make sure he was alive.
As they reached the hospital, they rushed inside, medic immediately taking the kid with them
Jk looked behind him when he heard cries and saw one of the kid sobbing , he walked towards him and crouched down cupping his teary face

There there bub, he will be fine yeah? I'm right here don't worry
He said as he Taehyun in his arms
He tried his best keep the kids calm , a sudden realisation hit him when he saw them clutching their stomachs

You must be hungry , wait here
He said as he tried to put Taehyun down but all four of them stopped him from going with crying eyes
Jk sighed , knowing the kids didn't want to be left alone
He picked up Taehyun and told other three to follow him , and they did , follow him while holding his jacket
He walked towards the canteen in hospital and looked at the menu, it wasn't too wide, just few snack, fruit salads and two kinds of meals. He decided to buy two meals , knowing that the kids won't be able to finish a plate alone so they can share, and a bottle of water
He took out his wallet and sighed when he saw the money inside , he didn't have much but it was more than enough for the food

Jk said as he put Taehyun down and took his order , walking to the waiting room where he could feed them
After he was done feeding them , he cleaned up everything and threw it in the trash. He noticed how Beomgyu 's eyes kept closing and same with Taehyun. He picked up Beomgyu and made him sit on his lap while Taehyun sat beside him sleepily

If you guys are sleepy, you can sleep yeah?

He will be fine ok? Just sleep
Jk said as he put Beomgyu head on his shoulder and told him to sleep. And in no time Beomgyu and Taehyun were fast asleep
Doctor
Patient Hyuningkai 's family?
Jk head after a few hours and looked up seeing the doctor. He put Beomgyu on the seat gently and walked towards the doctor, of course noticing how all four of them were sleeping

*sigh*
We had to perform a surgery, fortunately he made it alive...
but unfortunately his left arm has burn marks
Jk gasped, tears welling up as he felt his heart break but he was relieved at least he made it alive
Doctor
We will have to keep the kid here for few more days.
Doctor
You have to feed him proper diet , medicines and apply every ointment that is given.

Doctor
Don't worry kid, he is a fighter, he is totally fine.
Jk hesitated but asked him

What about the kids... they are orphan so um..

You should speak with the officers , they are in the lobby I think.
Jk looked surprised but nodded , he walked back to check on the kids and sighed when he saw all four of them cuddled up together. He walked towards the lobby and saw two officers discussing something

About the .. incident in the orphanage that happened today.
There were some kids that were alive,
uh so..
The officer looked pissed as he switched off his phone which jk managed to look at and was confused to see pictures of women

Listen kid, we are just here for the final sign ups and checking. We aren't taking care of kids or whatever. Now go away

They don't have someone, they don't have a guardian how-

Kid would you leave!? Can't you see we are doing something important? If the kids are that important that take care of them yourself
Jk stood there shocked and scared at the officers outburst. He gulped knowing the officers aren't going to listen and walked back to the waiting room, wincing when he heard crying of Beomgyu
