I had no fight left. I stripped, sinking into the bath water. It was heavenly, sweet scented and petals all around. I curled up into a ball...am I really in this new world? And I am...princess Alice? So I really did die that day - Candice died.

Oh! I was in here for ages! I didn't even realise.

It's true, I am Alice. I sit in a gorgeous dress with maids fluttering around me, making me look pretty. However, that girl in the mirror is already a literal angel! I am stunning! I stand in heels I never remembered practicing in, but I didn't wobble, I took this in so well, it's as if I am taking over. All of those past memories swirling inside.

My parents this time are loving and kind to me. My father is more lenient, but has killed in wars. My mother is a goddess, a gift from God, but she is more stern. They never argue for long, and miss each other terribly after only a day of being apart. My brother and I are their centre, their will. It made me feel whole.

I searched deeper. I am a good child, respectable, smart, yet somewhat cunning and vulgar. I am currently 17, and I am somewhat being probed to marry a prince?!

That's what the maid - Helen was talking about! It seems everyone hopes I marry this prince. My parents think I like him, and he treats me well? Alice has been lying, and now I voice this body. This prince better be prepared...prepare for the new Alice, my enemy! Prince Thornton!

The sound of the carriage was the only thing distracting me. It turns out before I was in control, Alice decided to hide under the sheets until late! I couldn't even meet my new, better parents. Even worse, I have to meet the prince.

Not nervous? I managed to show a small, but that did not help. We are close. It's HUGE. The Balkey house is a mansion, scratch that - a castle!

I shake my head quickly. I cannot be surprised, I am a *princess*, I see this kind of thing everyday.

Baldur is my escort, he has been around Alice her whole life, I owe a lot to him, as well as tell him a lot. I asked him to accompany me I believe.

Baldur chuckled.

Baldur looked concerned, he cares about me a lot, which is already much different from my old life. I could be gone for a week without any one noticing.

~10 minutes later~

I said I'd be fine but...none of this is fine! I am walking with Baldur to the steps, ready to be announced. Faces upon faces cause my head to spin.

Nane and Kessa. Those two are only my bestest friends. We have known each other since diapers. Nane is 18, he is smart, attractive and probably Alice's crush. Kessa is my age, and we talk on and on about everything! She currently like this commoner, but keeps denying it. Hehe.

Thinking about those two being present calms me down, I give Baldur a firm nod.

The whole room went silent...even the music stopped playing. I wanted to hide behind my hair. However Helen knew that trick and pinned it back neatly. I gulp nervously as Baldur half drags me down the stairs. As he bows and leaves me with a thumbs up, the music plays again and the crowd ignores me, to my relief.

Kessa calls out to me, waving her hand. Nane looks embarrassed as people whisper. Kessa was always seen as a bit of a mess, most say not princess enough, but to me, she's perfect.

Nane stares at me for a bit, before smiling.

I look at Nane, my head tilting. His tone sounded off. Maybe when I have time I can look into Alice's memories to see if there is bad blood between them.

I nod furiously.

Kessa and I giggle.

Nane's face turns red as he looks away.

We share more giggles. It feels awesome! Friends, actual friends! I almost feel bad for Alice for leaving these guys behind, but I'm here to pick them back up.

Us three talk for a while, before a girl comes with a red face, asking Nane for a dance. Like little high schoolers, Kessa and I "ooh" and whistle.

We wave goodbye before leaving the scene.

We stop and look up at the very fleshy obstacle...Prince Thornton. He looks at us as if we were swine.

We both curtsy.

What a little- Kessa and I share an expression of dislike as we both apologise.

I get ready to leave, taking a hold of Kessa's wrist to walk off.

He coughs, straightening up.

I feel Kessa slip out of my hold, getting ready to leave. Before however, I begin a telepathic conversation.

Kessa speeds away, leaving me alone with the Thorny prince.

Oh right...

...

Ideal?

He needs a good talking to!

He was already walking away.

Nane pats my back, suppressing giggles.

Kessa was back, with an apologetic smile and a shrug.

Thornie?

We watch as Nane walks to his father, who ruffled his hair softly, it was nice to see. But then Thornton went over, and he and Nane's father hugged?!

That's right. Nane's father, King Roceniyah, helped Thornton's father in the war, and supported him in the council, they behave like brothers.

Kessa lost her father when she was young, leaving her and her mother bereft. However, It seemed the mother used that to be mean to Kessa. She always insulted how she behaved, the company, which is also offensive to me, and just anything in general. We all call her the wicked slug, since slugs are always jealous and angry since they don't have shells.

We sigh, busted.

My father chuckles, patting her on the head.

Dad raises a brow, causes us to both giggle. He's always nice to Kessa and Nane, especially Kessa. He treats her like a second daughter. When she was little, he always made her hot chocolate with marshmallows whenever she came over to escape her mother, face ruined with tears. Ever since, she's called him Mr. Marshmallow, which made us all laugh.

All three of us turn..double busted!

We stay in silence.

...What?

I thought my mother was nice.

Here she was supposed to be like my friend, as we'd shop together and complain about dad. Why is she like this?

I must have been making quite the face, as my mother's hard expression softened.

I turn and walk away, ignoring my father calling me back. I turn into the garden, tearing up as I plop on the bench.

We had these awful nicknames for each other. However, Kess being around made me feel better.

I nod, staying quiet as mum sat next to me.

Close? He and I were close?

She blushed. Her only true weakness was my father.

I look away! I don't like Nane.

I get up, escaping straight away. I guess my mother is nice, just too harsh sometimes.

We giggle again. Kessa helps me practice talking to Thornton. We go through good points and bad points.

We stalk him for a few moments, before I finally reveal myself, walking towards him.

But then, just in movies, he walks past as if I didn't exist.

Eyes drop on me. People gossip and laugh at me.

Nane takes my hand, leading me to the dance floor.

We dance for around five minutes, before going to Kessa.

Us three talked for even longer. Time flies with friends. We talked about others again, even making fun of how they dressed. It was the best.

We all freeze...Angelica.

All three of us lock eyes lit with hate. Nane just observed, it was better to let us handle it.

Just then, the anthem music began. The five minutes of silence then finished. People began to leave.

Nane kissed my hand and winked.

We laugh. I wave goodbye.

I jump, turning around to see Thornton.

What? What kind of question is that?

For some reason, his face dropped.

Her again?!

I left them whilst I could, meeting Baldur in the carriage.

Baldur laughs, leaning back.
