Isn't it inhuman how inhuman humans can be?
“Miss Beckelle, you have been working in this field for long enough to help us out with trivial matters”
'Trivial' if only this word would match with what he's asking me.
“Sir, with all due respect, I am well aware that this trivial job is a matter of seconds but in my opinion, I suggest we rather not exaggerate, we can observe this situation more keenly if you would allow it. It would be better not to jump to conclusions”
"Very well, I will look into it again, you may leave"
He never asks me to leave it's always me leaving before he says anything.
“Good day sir, “I say expressionless
As I make my way toward the mahogany door the click-clack of my heels against the lavish marble floor back up what I left him with. Disappointment.
That's the last thing I wanted to leave him with today. Great. Things just got absurd real quick.
After leaving the room I pause in the middle of the wood-panelled hallway. There is something eerie and unsettling about this place.
I pull my phone out of my clutch to ring a certain someone.
........
She picks up after a long beep.
”What did he say,” she asks abruptly.
I love how she gets to the point, makes it much easier.
”Well this is gonna take a while," I reply.
AMI
It's been a while since I've seen her.
I wonder as I talk to one of the two people I can communicate with without smacking them hard.
I know why she called me, or I assumed I knew why she called.
"This is gonna take a while," she says.
“I have all the time it will take to recite every single verse exchanged between you two,” I say.
She begins with a heavy sigh. I've known her for a while now, it's her thing to be worried about everything but I know it's reasonable this time.
I still vividly remember our first encounter, the second I met this grumpy yet the most honest and minding person ever, I knew it would take a little more than the earth crashing into the sun to separate us.
Us.
such a simple word holding so much power.
Time flows as I stare out of the window watching the sun melt away, creating a sight worth being painted.
I know this won't be easy.

She said something I never knew I'd wanna pass over so bad.
"So that's the whole case," she says, letting another sigh slip.
“she knows it or not,” I say calmly.
“No probably," she says in a faint tone.
"I see" talk to you later.
She drops the call without saying bye.
I love her so much.
I sigh and turn my gaze towards my teacup and stare at it "what's this all about Maeve, what happened" I mumble to myself realising that the tea isn't the only thing that turned cold.
