The roads were covered with blood of those flesh eating monsters. These weren't average humans, they were more hideous. There teeths were as sharp as a shark's and they had pitch black eyes but this wasn't what made them terrifying it was the creepy smile they had on their face. A very ugly smile that would make anyone's skin crawl. 

For generation they have been a danger to society and the reason why millions of people had died every year. The Ancestors of human kind together gave birth to warriors, warriors who would protect the humans.Warriors we're blessed with abilities that a average human can't possess,While being a warrior is very honorable it definitely isn't safe one could be alive today but be dead the next.

The first mutant on the earth was a child, that child was weak and gravely ill. He had fell victim of a shark attack, the child was supposed to die but he didn't he just fell ill. So ill that he couldn't move a finger but strangely while his condition only worsen his teeths won't stop growing, his lips turned so pale as if he was dead. One day he ate his mother…

The villagers found the boy baring his teeths into his dead mother's body. The boy was then executed but every single one of the people he had scratched then turned into a monster just like him. 

It was said that during the pandemic of this virus, more humans were killed in the experiments of creating the perfect warrior. But then again it was just a rumor, or was it?

Times have changed and now families who have been giving the best warriors from past the generation have both fame and money, but it comes with a cost and the cost is death. It isn't ironic how every warrior had died while fighting mutants, even after retiring they still somehow died in the hands of mutants as if it was a unbreakable curse.

Eleanor is from one of the most prestigious families, the Roosevelt family. While all her siblings were born with warrior powers, she was rather normal. She wasn't 'blessed' with those powers but since Victoria Roosevelt, her lovely mother couldn't afford her child being shamed by the public she had to inject Eleanor with a fluid to help her gain those powers. Eleanor had a rough childhood due to that, she was never able to control herself. 

Eleanor would lose her conscious whenever she felt an extreme emotion, and when she did she was worse than a mutant. She would go on a rampage, Victoria always felt like it was her fault for ruining her own daughters life but Eleanor never resented her mother and knew Victoria had to do it because she only wanted to protect her. 

It would be weird if Eleanor had friends she was uncontrollable. No one, absolutely no one would want to be friends with her but she did in fact have friends. She was friends with Barbara who was very bold and fierce, Adeline who was very graceful and courteous. They all were childhood friends and came from families of warriors; of course Eleanor Wouldn't be able to make friends if it weren't for her family this wasn't a fact but Eleanor despised herself. 

Eleanor was only 12 when she had an encounter with a mutant no she wasn't scared because she had always imagined killing a mutant and bringing honor to herself, but she lost consciousness and when she did gain it back she was covered in blood… it wasn't her blood but the mutant's she had apparently smashed it's head and brutally stabbed it with it's own teeth. The scene was so horrifying that Eleanor felt like puking but to the media who had recorded everything, thought otherwise. 

The media had praised her for killing the mutant and said the site of her stabbing the ugly mutant was beautiful. That's when she realized that killing those life Dangering mutants wasn't what would bring her honor, now her first kill haunted her. She would get nightmares and hallucinate. 

Now Eleanor who was 17 years old, She had killed more of those mutants and the nightmares wouldn't stop, they were more scary now as she would now dream of eating a human and then being killed by the 12 year old Eleanor. Her past was haunting her and her dreams would always end with her younger self taunting her for being weak. 

"Should I just kill myself? Will that make it stop? " Eleanor whispered

"Do you think you would die a painless death? No you stupid you would burn in hell even in the after life because you deserve the most brutal death" A mysterious voice whispered back to her

I was sitting in classroom, waiting for the bell to ring and get out of this hell. I was on my periods and I got annoyed at the slightest things. I couldn't bare Barbara clicking her pen and Adeline chewing her crusty gum how long has she been chewing that? It's definitely been hours now doesn't the gum taste bad now? Why is the teacher not noticing the gum she has been chewing so loudly? Suddenly someone dropped their Hydroflask bottle on the marble floor making a loud noise. It was as if my inner self let go of the chains it tied me with making sure I won't cause a scene again. Before I even knew I had slapped Barbara and was currently choking Adeline, where did it go wrong? Why did I become so sensitive and so aggressive? 

"What are you doing let go of her! " The teacher roared through the classroom speeding towards me to help Adeline who had now turned as pale as a ghost. I let go of her, I know that saying I am on my periods so I did this unconsciously isn't a reason because this was the third time this week I am sure everyone is furious with me after all I always do something like this and then just apologize. It's that bad that the teacher nor Adeline asked me to apologize because they knew that no matter how many times I'd say sorry, I would do it again like a muscle memory. 

"I am sorry Adeline I don't know why I did that" I just muttered since the guilt senses started kicking in, this time I harmed my own friends which was far worse. Adeline who was still gasping for air looked at me. I thought she would look at me with furious eyes but she just looked at me like she pitted me? 

"It's ok… Mam can Eleanor help me to the school nurse office? " Adeline calmly asked for permission. 

"Yes, please make sure to come to the principal's office later. " Even the teacher was so feed up with me. Why can't I get my shit together? Why can't I live like a normal girl? As much as everyone in this school were done with me I was too, I wanted to control myself… God! Even my family was so done with me. 

As I helped Adeline to the nurse office she started talking as though nothing happened.

"You know this is great I hate maths and the teacher kept going on about how to find the X like God dammit I can't find myself an ex how do I find one for maths?!" 

"Seriously ? " I just chuckled lightly, she sure knows the way with words. 

"Like oh my god just because a bunch of dumbos I have to now study maths with ABC's! I pulled a all nighter last night to catch up with the lessons I slept in… " No wonder she looked so tired. 

"You poor thing how about I treat you to some ice cream or something delicious? " I asked to cheer her up. 

"Ice cream sounds great with some cookies and it'll be perfect" She grinned. 

"Thank you for cheering me up, I am sorry I really didn't mean to hit you and Barbara I just- "

"I know don't explain yourself, I am not angry so stop Overthinking," She cuts me off. Suddenly she slapped my back hard. 

"ok now we are equal so don't feel low ok? It hurts me to see you like that" She said. 

"Why? Do you love me so much that it hurts you?" I teased to lighten up the mood. 

"No you stupid you just look so ugly with your eyebrows furrowed. " She sneered, I just gave her a dirty look and we continued walking. 

As I was sitting in the principal's office, I noticed the dark scars I left on Adelines neck. It looks painful, will my parents get a call? I mean I tried my best for them not getting a call for a month so I will definitely get scolded hard this time. 

"Ah I see this time its your own friend" The principal said finally looking up his Laptop. Yes that's how bad it was this time, I couldn't look him in the eyes, he always told me I was one of his brightest students. 

"Sir, I would like it if our parents didn't find out. " Adeline said. 

"Sure sure but as a punishment I want Eleanor to help in writing articles for the school newspaper" He responsed looking my way. 

"Yes sir, I would gladly help. " I answered, still looking at the floor. The floor was still the same oak wood floor that looked so alluring, how do i explain it? It was just so neat and clean. 

"Well great, have a safe trip home" He smiled.

"Look if you are buying us ice cream for what happened in the class you don't have to, it didn't hurt much plus it's ok we understand you didn't have control." Babara tried consoling me. 

"Ok then you do you I guess, Adeline you still want the ice cream right?" I asked Adeline and she nodded. 

"Even if you are bribing me with the ice cream I'll have it, food is more important and i was really craving something sweet and cold" Adeline smirked. 

"Wow ok then buy me one as well I don't wanna stare at you two enjoying your ice cream that feeling is worse than being a third wheel!" Barbara exclaimed. 

"Haha what flavor do you want?-" I asked the girls. 

"Wait let me guess vanilla and butterscotch?" I continued

"You know the drill girl now go and bring me my love" Adeline said as she pushed me forward. 

I walked up to the shop and entered it looking around, this is the shop that would always give me nostalgia since childhood we came here to buy ice cream and other snacks… where did all those years go to I wish I could go back in time I wasn't ready to be an adult, I stopped near the freezer and grabbed what I needed. I wasn't in the mood for eating ice cream so I grabbed myself some mango flavored popsicle. 

"Hello mam I would like to buy these today" I smiled as I went up to counter to pay, I knew the workers there since I was a regular customer. 

"Oh! sure it is hot today, didn't your friends come?" The counter woman asked. 

"Well they did but today I am the Errandman so only I will be paying"

"I see, have a great day Elena" The woman smiled. 

"You too mam"

I left the shop and walked where I left them, it was actually really hot but it shouldn't be since it was spring. 

"Hey you stray cats look what I got you" I waved and ran towards them. They saw me and started jumping like toddlers…

I was walking home with a popsicle in my mouth, when I noticed that the abandoned alley I always took home didn't feel abandoned today. I don't see anyone but I feel as if someone was here, I felt their presence. Was it a mutant? How is it possible for a mutant to be present in middle of city? As I was thinking hard I felt something  jump and speed towards me. 

As I looked closely it was indeed a mutant, it came snarling towards. My heart started racing I was scared not of the mutant but myself I didn't want to lose consciousness two times in a day. As I dogged it, i scratched it using my safety knife. I didn't have any of those fancy warrior abilities so this was the only thing I could protect myself with. It made a loud squeak sound, 

"PFFT- HAHAHA what are you? A hamster?" I couldn't contain my laughter but the insult didn't seem to affect the ugly creature. 

I tried to stay calm since feeling strong emotions mind me, I toke a step forward looked the creature into the eyes and signaled it to fight back with my fingers. I never had to use my safety knife so this will be fun as it came jumping towards me i got ready to stab it through its heart that would leave a sting and give me some time to aim for the head. But then as I almost stabbed it's heart it jumped back? Why didn't it try to attack me?

It turned to look behind me and smiled. I hated that smile it was so creepy so I turned to look what exactly was so entertaining to look at. There it was standing tall… 

"laugh a little more because this will be your last day" The mysterious voice whispered.
