Episode 1
It is early in the morning when set of persistent knocks rapping on her door. Rio who barely has enough sleep decides to ignore it. It is too early even for loan sharks to get their money.
Sara
“Rio~ I knew you are in there”
Rio knows that soft voice although she still hesitates to open the door
Sara
“I bring snacks and ice cream!”
The door opens with loud bang. Rio is hungry
Rio
“You are kidding right?”
Sara
“I am. I bought your favorite pudding and melon bread.”
Sara lifting her hand that carrying a plastic bag full of snacks. Rio snatches it immediately and pulling Sara inside her apartment.
Sara
“Mr. Takigawa is waiting downstair. Your elevator is broken so I asked him to call the manager.”
Rio
“Good luck with that, it has been wrecked since The first day I moved here. They are too lazy to fix it.”
Rio
“Wait, did you take the stairs then?”
Sara
“Well, I see no other way to reach your apartment beside that.”
Rio
“It’s on 5th floor. I remember how you always cried to your parents to move your bedroom to first floor because stairs are tiring.”
Sara
“If you are sorry with my struggle to get here, then turn on the air conditioner.”
It is scorching hot even though it’s early summer. Rio takes a look at Sara who is now taking over the only chair in her apartment. The sofa is currently covered with dirty laundry and unopened cardboard boxes
Rio
“Sorry, it’s broken since the first day I moved here too.”
Sara
“You should ask hefty discount from landowner since it seems their building has no even basic necessities available.”
Rio opens the window instead. Morning air comes rushing in but so are blinding hot rays of sun.
Rio
“I’ll put the ice cream before it melts.”
Sara
“… actually this place is not that bad. It’s my first time to see kitchen appliances under a bed. It’s actually smart to arrange this way.”
Sara
“Everything is within your reach and so many rooms fit in one tiny space… fascinating.”
All the time Sara keeps smiling but Rio understands.
Rio
“Okay, let’s talk outside.”
Sara turns excitedly on Rio’s swiveling chair.
Rio
“I don’t see Mr. Takigawa.”
Sara
“I asked him to hunt down the building manager.”
Rio
“You hate stairs very much eh?”
Sara
“If it’s exhausting for me then it must be exhausting for you.”
Rio tilts her head to see Sara who is walking beside her. Right now they are heading to nearest playground since Mr.Takigawa still preoccupied and therefore cannot bring the car around.
Sara
“I heard you are studying in a public school nearby.”
Rio
“Well yes, it takes 15 minutes by train.”
Rio
“You see, the actual experience riding it is not as exciting as you thought would be.”
Sara
“I always wonder how riding a bus or a train feel like.”
Rio
“How about you? How is the school?”
At this point Sara suddenly stops walking. Rio turns around to find Sara is pouting with slightly annoyed face. It’s the first time she sees Sara’s exasperated face today. Sara is known as sweet, gentle, beautiful, and kind lady amongst the high society circles. Even though Rio knows better how Sara actually is since they both have been best friend for all their life, it still takes her off guard to see Sara’s frowning expression.
Rio
“What? Is it thaaat bad?”
Sara
“You promised me that we would go to that school together! You always said how that place is like hell on earth and how you won’t let me going there alone! Now, what are you doing? You have new friends from public school!”
Sara is throwing a fit with her face gradually reddens
Rio
“Hey it’s not my plan that my family would go broke and you going down to hell alone.”
Sara
“Say Rio, you need money right?”
Rio
“If you are going to say what I am thinking you gonna say you’d better stop.”
Sara
“… I have an idea. But you have to take it.”
Rio
“It’s better not about you paying my family’s debt-“
Sara
“Rio, you knew me better that I dont have angelic characteristic despite what others are claiming.”

Sara

Sara
“My bad, What I meant is be my employee I would pay you handsomely.”
