— Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! Miranda Phillips is on the line. Our ship S84 is now at the far edge of the Galaxy, inside the planetary system. The ship is hit, we're losing control. The gravity of the nearby planet pulls us towards itself. Please answer! – worried, the girl hastily said into the microphone.
Astronomical center workers heard her distress call and tried to answer. But Miranda heard only static mixed with the speaker's voice. Plus, the sound of the spaceship siren was getting on her nerves.
- What? I don't understand you! Someone turn off that damn siren! — the girl screamed plaintively.
The astronaut came up to the girl and asked excitedly.
- What did they say?
- I don't know. Bad connection.
"I'm with the pilot," the astronaut said, and left Miranda alone.
As soon as she wanted to move, the ship began to sway so violently that everyone lost their balance and fell to the floor, and Miranda rolled against one of the walls. Hitting the wall, she screamed in pain.
- A-ay!
“Put on your space suits, we need to urgently leave the ship,” came the voice of the ship’s captain.
But there are only three spacesuits, and there are four of us, Miranda thought, and then she jumped up and hurried to the spacesuit compartment. She ran through a couple of compartments, holding on to the wall with one hand so as not to lose her balance, because the ship shook slightly. There were falls.
"There is not a second to lose. I could die at any moment," she thought in horror.
On the way, she caught sight of a window through which she saw the damaged wing of the ship. The wing did not burn only because there is no atmosphere in space. Miranda made her way to the right compartment, where she met the other three men.
"They got the other way," she thought, gazing at the two already putting on their suits.
— What are you waiting for, Phillips? Put on faster! — shouted the captain of the ship, nodding towards the last suit.
It took a long time to get dressed. Meanwhile, the gravity of the unknown planet was pulling the ship harder and harder. And then the ship completely crossed the gas border of a completely white planet. Finally, all three put on space suits and threw a backpack with a parachute over their shoulders. At that moment, the captain wasted no time in saying firmly.
There is no chance, but there is hope. Signal sent to Earth. Wait for rescue...if you survive.
— What's about you, captain? - Breathing heavily from excitement, the astronaut asked.
At that moment, they heard the wing of the ship fall off and instantly fly away. If they were in space, they would not hear any sound due to the absence of an atmosphere. Their eyes shone as they everyone understood that the presence of sound indicates the presence of air on the planet. Less than a second after the wing was cut off, the ship began to rotate chaotically, and then completely began to burn with an orange flame. The captain managed to press the button, after which the "doors" on the tail opened. All four fell into the alien atmosphere. And only the captain, not wearing a spacesuit, for the first time breathed in the frosty air of a snow-white planet, filling his lungs with it. They fell straight to the ground, while the burning ship continued to fall downhill. The first thing they felt was strong currents of wind that rotated their bodies like a leaf in the wind. The loud whistle of the wind was clearly audible, the streams of which carried them in one direction. Miranda immediately pulled on the handle of her backpack, the parachute opened and her fall slowed.
"Damn, even though I'm in a spacesuit, I still feel how cold it is here," she thought, breathing heavily from fear and excitement.
The girl looked around and found neither the astronaut, nor the pilot, nor the captain. She saw only the tops of the glaciers. Fear intensified. Unfortunately, her parachute could not withstand the wind and quickly broke.
“What the… No, not that!
And again, her body chaotically fell down, dodging to the right, then to the left, more and more entangling her body into a broken parachute. A second later, a bare tree trunk appeared in front of her, her body moving towards it.
- No no no no! — Panicked, Miranda said quickly.
She covered the glass of the suit with her hands, turned back and crashed into the barrel with great force. There was a sound of collision. She screamed in pain.
"Maybe it's a tree, but it definitely doesn't look like earth. It hurts so much, like I've crashed into an iron block," she thought.
Miranda was ready to die, just not to feel pain and fear. After the collision, her body rapidly continued to fall. Knocking down several branches along the way that slowed down the fall, the girl collapsed with pain on the icy ground.
— Mm… — she whined from pain all over her body, the left side of her body where she landed hurt the most.
The glass of the suit shattered from the impact, a hole with sharp borders formed right in front of the face. The skin of Miranda's face felt the coldness of this environment. The girl breathed in the purest and freshest breath of air.
"This air is not contaminated by the smells of the metropolis and stinking gases. This purity harmonizes so pleasantly with the frosty weather. Most likely, I will die here. It is a pity that I did not finally tell my children how much I love them. Oh ... my children ... Damn, my face is freezing."
