Intro
Hello, reader, and welcome to the Five
Planes! Well, technically you were here the whole time, but we'll get
to that in a minute! My name is Relathica, and I'm the Goddess of
Justice! Yup, Gods and Goddesses are real! Mind blown, right? But
we're just getting started!
So, you're probably wondering about
the Five Planes, right? So we're clear, we're not talking air travel
here! The Five Planes Of Existence make up the entirety of our
universe. Plane 3, known as life, is probably the one you're familiar
with. Most things that are “alive” exist here, from birth till
death. Where might you go after death? Well, there are two
possibilities.
Maybe you were a good person during
your life. Well, then welcome to Plane 2, Cielo! You'll be reborn as
an Angel, among billions of other Angels! But it's not just Angels
that inhabit this amazing place! There are, as I mentioned before, us
Gods. But not all Gods are the same! The King Gods are the leaders of
Cielo. This huge world is divided into five sections, and a King God
rules of each one (except Eastern Cielo, who has a Queen Goddess). My
Pops, Tyrus, is King of Central Cielo. Reporting directly to the King
Gods are the Higher Gods. We Higher Gods are usually children of our
King. We each have responsibilities, and Demi-gods to help us
handle those responsibilities. And then there's Lesser Gods,
which, like the Angels, run various businesses, fight as military
soldiers, or serve their respective King.
Whew, finally done with the Cielo
explanation! For now anyway. Now, let's say you've been a bad apple.
Well, it's off to Plane 4, the Underworld, for you then! It's not as
bad as it sounds though. Yeah, it is a punishment, and a prison of
sorts, but it's not eternal torture, as you might think. The
Underworld Gods are fair and just. When you are delivered to the
Underworld and reborn as a Demon, you're given a threat level,
and are placed based on that. Even the worst Demons don't have it too
bad, but try to be good, okay? By the way, if you do end up in the
Underworld, say hello to my amazing and handsome big brother Kerik
for me! Heehee!
Now, Planes 1 and 5 you'll most likely
never see, but I'll tell ya about them anyway. Plane 5 is Hell, and
is an eternal prison for the most dangerous evils in the Five Planes.
Powerful and evil Gods are caged and chained, never to be released,
for the horrible crimes they've committed and the threat they pose.
Liliana, a being known as The Devil, and the greatest threat the Five
Planes has even faced, is forever caged in the center of this
forbidden Plane.
Last, but certainly not least, is
Heaven, where The Creator Of All Things (usually shortened to The
Creator) resides, watching everything. Also residing in Heaven is The
Council, a group of unbelievably powerful beings that help and advise
The Creator. It was said the The Devil was once a member of The
Council, until an incident...
Now all that may be confusing, but as
you follow my team through our adventures, you'll start to get it!
Speaking of my team...
First up is the wonderful and
beautiful me! As I said when we got started, I'm Relathica, Goddess
of Justice! But everyone calls me Athy! I may be a bit on the short
side, but don't let that fool you! I kick serious ***! My job as the
Goddess of Justice is to deal with problematic situations that don't
require military force. Basically, I'm the hero Central Cielo
deserves! Bad joke? Yeah, let's move on.
Up next, my personal whipping boy,
Kiel! Okay he's my Demi-god, but I love giving him a hard time! The
God/Demi-god dynamic is supposed to be all respected master/loyal
servant, but screw that. We're like brother and sister, which I
prefer! As my Demi-god, he has a portion of my power, and he goes
with me on my missions. He's 20 years-old, and has been my Demi-god
for about a year. He's still kinda green, but he's got a lot of
potential, and while I kinda forced him into being a Demi-god, he's
still always got my back!
Speaking of having each other's backs,
up next is Eria, an Amora! Amoras are Demi-gods trained by my big
sis, Love Goddess Solaphia, and specialize in healing and support
powers. Every Demi-god expected to do battle is assigned an Amora
partner. Eria is also a new Demi-god, so she and Kiel have been
growing together. Just like I see mountains of potential in Kiel,
Solaphia sees the same in Eria. And, seeing as Aphy is desperately in
love with Kiel (no joke), she assigned her most promising student to
assist him. Eria is 24, and kind of acts as the big sister of our
little group. Now under normal circumstances, that'd be the end of
the introductions for my group. But we have a couple of oddballs, so
time to introduce them!
So, one day, while walking home from a
mission, Kiel saw a man in knight armor being attacked by a bunch of
villagers. Liking to play hero, Kiel jumped in and helped the man
fight off the villagers and escape. The man's name is Raine, a
playboy knight who was about to get his *** kicked for wooing the
village pretty girl. Yup. But despite his promiscuous and pervy ways,
he's one Hell of a knight! Not to mention a loyal friend to Kiel.
He's Angel that left life sometime during the Middle Ages, placing
his age somewhere over five-hundred. Believe me, when you live that
long, you stop counting.
Another origin story for you! Pops
sent the four of us to an abandoned and destroyed laboratory that had
been discovered by some scouts on patrol. The place was well-hidden,
only accessible via a hatch at the entrance of a dangerous forest.
The place looked like it hadn't been touched in years, and nothing
had power. Nothing except for a robot who activated when I tripped
over her. As I was the first thing she saw when she activated, she
became my loyal assistant. She is known as a Dynamic Artificial
Goddess, or DAG for short. No one knows who created her or why she
was left there, but they certainly created something awesome! Sensors
for every possible purpose! Seemingly infinite knowledge! Limbs that
can regenerate and turn into any weapon imaginable! Sounds like I'm
advertising her, doesn't it? Well, you can't have her! She's a
priceless member of our team, plus I enjoy taking her to the mall and
dressing her in different outfits!
Now with such a big group, we need a
place to sleep, right? Right! Pops built the five of us a house right
on castle grounds, and we each have our own room! My room has lovely
yellow floral wallpaper, and a carpet that matches! My walls are
lined with shelves full of shoujo manga!
Kiel's room has dark blue walls, and
blue/black checkerboard carpet. Of course, you can't see either,
since his walls are covered in video game and anime posters, shelves
filled mostly with shounen manga (we trade sometimes), and his floor
is covered with games and game systems. Eri loves plants, and her
room is practically a jungle! She studies them in her off time, and
even creates new crossbreeds! Now Raine's room...only Kiel dares go
in there, and only to wake him up in the morning or to get back a
game. It's kinda like Kiel's room, but very R-rated. That's all I'll
say about that. And, well there isn't much to say about DAG's room. A
plain room with a charger to refill her battery and a computer in
case she needs to research something.
Anyway let's see, we went over the
Five Planes, my team, our house... Yup, that's everything! Well, time
for Kiel to introduce himself, and I will see you again later!
Chapter
1 – Raki, The Queen of Hell
Kiel here! What’s up? I suppose Athy filled you in on the goings on here
in Cielo and the Five Planes, so I’ll just jump into the adventure.
So, it was early in the morning, I was sleeping peacefully, when,
like always, in bursts Athy, who proceeds to shake me awake.
“Damn it, Athy!” I yelled, pissed off, “Can you not do that every
damned day?! I have ears!”
“Don’t be so whiney, Ki,”Athy told me, “Pops has a job for us, and every
word I say is one more moment he has to wait. Eria and DAG are
already up, and I’m not going near Raine’s room, so you can wake
him up.”
Athy probably already told you how M-rated Raine’s room is, but it must
be said again, no female should be subjected to his figure
collections. Not even Athy.
After getting Raine up, we headed to the throne room, where Lord Tyrus was
nervously pacing in circles. He rejoiced upon seeing one of his
precious babies.
“Ah, my sweet daughter Relathica!” he cried, rushing over to hug her,
“The mere sight of you calms my worried heart!”
Lord Tyrus treasures every one of his babies, which include our favorite
little brat, a Love Goddess who doesn’t understand the concept of
personal space, a War God who is the manliest man in all of Manville,
and an Underworld God who is, ironically, the most level-headed of
the lot.
“Pops, I get it, I’m happy to see you too,” Athy reacted coldly to his
display of affection, “Now, what is the super urgent mission you
called us all here for?”
Lord Tyrus quickly regained his composure.
“Yes, of course,” he began, clearing his throat, “Here’s the
situation. Three days ago, a powerful Demon, known only as Raki,
escaped from the Underworld. I quickly sent Gerram, his lead Demigod
Sayel, and Sayel’s Amora Aero, to her last known location, Relic
Forest, to recapture her. However, I haven’t heard a single word
from them since I sent them out. Gerram, being a War God, and the
leader of our military, is very serious about keeping communication
with me, so three days without a single communication has me worried
indeed. So, your mission is to find them. Assist them if they are in
the middle of fighting but try to avoid contact with Raki if
possible. She is considered highly dangerous.”
Lord Tyrus opened a portal for us to New Athens Forest. King Gods have the
power to open portals to any location within their domain. The five
of us stepped through and began our mission.
Relic Forest, while one of the milder forests in Cielo, is still a forest.
And the fact that a powerful demon was probably hiding somewhere
inside made it creepy as Hell. Eria was practically attached to my
arm.
“T-t-this place is creepy, Kiel,” she timidly stated, “And that D-D-Demon
could be anywhere…”
“No worries, Eri,” Raine told her, “I’ll defeat her for you, and
for all of the lovely ladies present!”
“Damn it, Kiel, did you forget to put Raine’s leash on again?” Athy joked, “He
better not slobber on me! This is my best battle outfit!”
“Shut it, Athy! I bet you I can beat this thug myself! Why did Lord Tyrus
send all of us? It’s one Demon.”
“Yeah, Raine, one Demon. One Demon that probably kicked the big bro's ***!
How many times have you challenged Gerram and lost? I stopped
counting after the fifteenth time!”
“Do not blame Raine, Lady Relathica,” DAG said in her usual monotone
voice, “His low intelligence leaves him unable to learn from
mistakes and comprehend impossible situations.”
“Keep the abuse coming, why don’t ya?” Raine growled, “Ki, Eri, you
guys got any snarky remarks you wanna get out?”
“Nope,” I replied, “Athy and Daggy summed it up pretty well I think.”
Eria giggled a little. And then we heard a laugh that wasn’t from Eria,
or anyone from our group, off in the distance. DAG turned toward the
direction of the laughing.
“Scanning…” she said, activating her sensors, “Detecting one God, with 7
percent power remaining, one Demi-God, with 12 percent power
remaining, and one Demon, with 84 percent power remaining.”
“Wait!” Eria cried, “What about little sis Aero? Don’t tell me she’s…”
“I am detecting Amora energy, but it’s somehow completely obscured by
Demon energy… Impossible to get an accurate reading…”
Just then, two bodies flew past us, and landed several yards behind us. We
rushed over to them, and to our shock and horror, it was Gerram and
Sayel. Gerram was completely out, and Sayel was barely conscious.
Eria began healing them both immediately.
“Come on, Sayel, stay with us,”Athy urged her, “What in the Hell
happened? Where’s Aero?”
“P-please…” Sayel cried weakly, “Help Aero… She… She’s been…”
“She’s been turned into the most useful puppet I could have asked for,”
said an evil sounding voice behind us. We turned around, and saw what
looked like our sweet little Aero, but with yellow eyes and an evil
grin that she normally would be incapable of.
“You unforgivable TRASH!!!” Raine cried out, “You…you…”
“Possessed your little flower? But of course. The key to battle is to take the
advantage, and what better advantage is there than having control of
a body that your enemies would never attack? Now, care to play? Since
the toys I was playing with are broken, I could use a few new ones.
Ones that might actually fight back.”
“Screw you!” Relathica screamed, “I’m pounding you right now!!!”
I quickly grabbed her arm.
“Athy, don’t forget she has Aero’s body!” I reminded her, “Aero
hasn’t done anything wrong! We can’t just pulverize her!”
“What other choice do we have?! I’m not letting this Demon make us her
punching bags while we just take it!”
At that point, DAG grabbed Athy by the shoulder and whispered something
into her ear.
“The heck?” Athy replied, seemingly a bit shocked, “I never knew
that!”
“If you've got a plan, Steelface, it would help to share it with the
group!” Raine told her.
“I've got a better plan,” Athy said, “Eria, you heal up bro and Sayel.
Ki and Creepy, you two keep Raki busy for a bit. Me and DAG have
something to take care of!”
“You kidding me? Me and Ki deal with a high-level Demon in a friend’s
body?”
“You said earlier you could kick her butt, right? Keeping her in place for
ten or so minutes should be no problem! Trust me on this, you two!”
Without saying another word, Athy and DAG zoomed off, leaving Raine and I to
get our asses kicked.
“Awww, only two to play with now?” Raki whined, “Oh well, no matter. I
can have some fun with that.”
“Damn it!” Raine groaned, “What is that pint-sized princess doing
leaving us to deal with this?!”
“Just bear with it,” I told him, “When Athy has a plan, we just play
our part and things will work out.”
“How much trust do you have in that girl, Ki? You two are always at each
other’s throats!”
“The little brat may be annoying, but I’d trust her with my life any
day! Now let’s figure out how we’re gonna survive this without
hurting Aero!”
“Jeeeeez,” Raki complained, “Are you done with your little plan yet? Unless
you boys are about to make out, I’m attacking now!”
And with that, the fight began. Raki dashed straight at us. I jumped to
left, while Raine jumped to the right. Raine drew his sword, more to
defend himself than to attack.
“Nice toy, little boy!” Raki taunted him, “Let’s see how well it
protects you against this!”
She dashed toward him, attacked with a forceful hand ******. Raine
managed to block it with the sword but got knocked backwards into a
tree. Without missing a beat, she turned to me and came at me with
the same attack. I dodged, but by so small a margin that she cut my
chest a bit. I seized my chance, and grabbed her arm, and tried to
force her to the ground. Yeah, nice try Kiel. She threw me like a
throw pillow.
“Please, give me more credit than that, Little Kiel,” Raki said, taunting us
yet again, “I may be in this fragile, soft human body, but I still
have my own defensive and offensive powers!”
Well, if that’s the case…
“Eria!” I yelled to my trusted Amora, “Got enough power to spare for an
attack-up spell?”
Eria, who was healing Sayel and Gerram, nodded, and shot a red colored ball
of condensed power in my direction. It hit me, and I felt like strong
as Hell! Amora powers are always helpful to their Demi-gods, but Eria
is particularly talented as an Amora, and her boosts and healing
powers often help me out of particularly deadly situations.
“Ooooh, glowy!” Raki cheekily commented on the red glow coming from me
after the attack-up spell, “But will it make you more fun to
kill?!”
She came at me with a punch this time. Thanks to the boost, I was able to
catch and stop the punch. Using this brief chance to gain the upper
hand Raine got behind her and kicked her feet out from under her,
allowing me to force her to the floor.
“Finally got you!” I yelled, “Now stay down!”
At these words, Raki lost her evil smile and replaced it with a face
that could terrify a hardened criminal.
“You think you have me?” she hissed in the most sinister voice I’ve
heard from her yet, “Don’t…you dare…underestimate…THE QUEEN
OF HELL!!!”
She suddenly unleashed a burst of energy that sent both Raine and I
flying.
“I will not be underestimated!!!” she cried out angrily, “Especially
not by a damned human!!!”
She walked over to Raine, pierced his heart with her hand (he’s an
Angel, he’ll come back to life in a bit) and grabbed his sword.
Then, before I even had time to react to Raine getting taken out,
Raki had the point of his sword touching my throat. Eria was
completely focused on healing Gerram and Sayel, and was running low
on energy, so there was nothing she could do to help me. Raine was
dead on the ground, and it would be several minutes before he
resurrected. I was on the ground with the wind knocked out of me, and
a pissed off Demon pointing my best friend’s sword at my throat.
“You know, that’s what I hate about killing Angels and Demons,” Raki
whispered darkly, “They don’t fear death, because they just come
back later, and go about their day. That’s why I escaped the
Underworld. Maiming and killing the same Demons every damn day was so
boring. But now here I stand, holding a sword to a human’s throat.
When I pierce you with this sword, I’ll get to watch the life
forever leave your eyes. My only regret is that the fear of death in
your eyes will also leave, but we can’t have everything, I
suppose.”
Is this how it ends? Cut down by an insane, bloodthirsty Demon? Unable
to save a friend who called me Big Brother Kiel? I closed my eyes and
waited to feel the cold steel of the sword pierce my neck. However,
what I felt next wasn’t cold steel going though my neck, but a pair
of warm arms gently wrapping around it.
“Big Brother, Kiel!!!” Aero cried, “I’m so sorry!!!”
I sighed the deepest sigh of relief ever as tears dripped from Aero’s
gentle green eyes.
“It’s okay Little Sis,” I reassured her, gently patting her head.
Relathica and DAG returned ten minutes later, as Gerram and Sayel were
regaining consciousness, Raine was coming back to life, and Eria and
Aero were finishing up healing me.
“You guys look more like crap than usually,” Athy teased Raine and I,
“And that’s saying something.”
“If you two didn’t save me at the last second, I’d tell you to shove
it,” I told her, “So just what did you two do?”
“Well, our walking encyclopedia here informed me that in order to possess
someone else's body, the possessor must first eject their soul from
their own body. However, this leaves the possessor’s body limp and
vulnerable. And if that body is harmed, the soul instantly returns,
ending the possession.”
“Wait, so if you found Raki’s body, where is she?”
“Well, DAG and I located it, and were about to bind it and stab it, but she
must have sensed us approaching it, and returned to it herself and
quickly fled. So, we couldn’t catch her, but at least we saved your
bacon.”
“Not gonna complain about that.”
Raine walked over to where we were, clutching his chest.
“Can the one who actually died join this conversation too?” he joked.
“You died over 500 years ago from a sword slash to the back,” Athy joked
back, “What does that have to do with what we’re discussing?”
“Are you sure you’re not an Ice Goddess, because that was coooooooold!”
Sayel, Gerram, and Aero were off to the side, having a tear-filled reunion.
“Take a look over there, bro,” I told Raine, “That’ll warm you right
up.”
Raine looked over at them, and a big smile spread across his face.
“What do you know, you’re right.”
Five-Planes 101, by Athy!
Athy: Hello everyone, Athy here! At the end of every chapter, I'll give you
all a short lesson about something discussed in that chapter!
Gerram: (whispering to Kiel) Why the Hell is this necessary? We all know this
shit!
Kiel: (whispering back) The author wanted a silly way to end each chapter,
and a way to give the audience additional information.
Sayel: Do we even have fourth-wall clearance?
Athy: Hey, all of you shut up! Teacher giving a lesson here! Now, today
we're discussing the forests of Cielo. There are many forests all
over Cielo, and they all have unique wildlife. However, this wildlife
can range from the adorable creatures hiding in the Relic Forest, to
the horribly powerful Ancient Beasts living inside the ominously
named Liliana's Woods. All of the charted forests have signs at all
entrances with with wildlife info and warnings, but never enter any
forest unprepared! Or you'll end up a mess, like Gerram!
Gerram: Hey! Damn it, you little sh-...!
Athy: See you next time!
Hello ladies! Your sweet blue boy Raine
is here to narrate this chapter! When last we left our heroes, they
had just escaped the clutches of the evil Demon, Raki, with Gerram,
Sayel, and Aero in tow. Now it's time to go home... But, uh...
“Where's the damn portal, Sis?”
Gerram complained as we looked around for the portal back home, “I'm
grateful you saved our lives, I'd be more grateful if you had a damn
sense of direction!”
“Stuff it, Gear!” Athy snapped
back, “I lost track of it when you and Sayel were taking flight
lessons!”
“Why don't you ask your walking
super-computer over there, dumbass!”
“Hey! Don't call your savior a
dumbass! ...But you have a point. Let's hear it Daggy! Where's the
portal? ...Daggy?”
We all looked over at our mostly-metal
eye-candy, who seemed completely frozen.
“Not this again,” Athy said,
clearing her throat,”D-A-G Model 000-Prototype, run error check and
reboot.”
DAG is a strange girl. A robot far more
advanced than any ever seen. Her creator is unknown, and we found
very little information about her in the abandoned lab we found her
in. But thankfully, we know this little command if she freezes
suddenly, which does happen.
“Running error check...” DAG said,
“Error identified. Unknown being type detected. Logging as
'Newtype1'. Rebooting...”
“Unknown being?” Aero wondered out
loud, “Well, there's lotsa little animals in this forest.”
“DAG has never encountered a being
she couldn't identify...” Kiel told her, with a bit of worry in his
voice, “She even knows the names of creatures no one has ever
seen...”
“Reboot complete,” DAG said,
“Apologies everyone. My database glitched due to detecting a type
of being unknown to me, or any database.”
“Shouldn't we be worried about
that?!” I asked her, kinda freaked out now.
“No, but we should worry about the
fighting capabilities I measured. The Newtype is stronger than Lord
Gerram, and faster than Lady Solaphia.”
“You having a laugh DAG?!” Sayel
cried, “Tougher than senpai, and faster than Aphy?! No way!”
“I do not make jokes, and my sensors
never misread anyone. This Newtype can outfight every one of us
easily.”
An oppressive aura suddenly filled the
air and forced us all to our knees. And I could swear I heard a voice
say something. Then, as soon as it came, it disapppeared. Everyone
was breathing heavily, and poor Aero had passed out. Luckily, Gerram
managed to catch her.
“Find the portal NOW, DAG!” Athy
ordered.
“Understood,” DAG replied, unfazed
as always, “This way, everyone.”
“Pops, close it!” Athy yelled at
Lord Tyrus as soon as we returned through the portal. He closed it as
quickly as she yelled it.
“My goodness, you lot look a mess,”
he told us, “What in Heaven happened?”
We explained the entire situation to
him. Raki kicking Gear's rear. Aero getting possessed. And that
terrifying “Newtype”. And the whole time, Lord Tyrus was hugging
his “baby,” Gerram, much to the War God's embarrassment. Big Ty
REALLY loves his kids, as Ki has probably told you.
“That is worrying,” he said after
we finished the explanation, “Not only is Raki free, and stronger
than anticipated, but we have this mysterious 'Newtype' to worry
about.”
“Lord Tyrus, I would like to add one
detail to my analysis of the Newtype,” DAG interrupted, “During
the burst of energy we felt for a moment, the energy reading rose
very close to your own.”
I nearly hit the damn floor!
“Bullshit, metalhead!” Gerram
protested, “That's impossible! Only another King God can match
Dad!”
“Tell me, Lord Gerram, how close were
you, and every one of you, to fainting like Aero when you got his
with that energy burst?”
None of us said anything. She was
right, we were all close to dropping like flies during the burst.
“You did, however, say it was an
energy burst, correct DAG?” Tyrus asked her, “Surely this being
was merely flexing to frighten you, and the measurement is not
accurate of their actual power.”
“That is a possibility. My initial
reading merely told me they were capable of defeating us in a fight,
but she was no match for a King God. However, there exists another
possibility. Perhaps, rather than flexing to scare us away, this
being was exposing their true power as a warning to us. The initial
readings were fluctuating quite a bit, suggesting that they were
holding in the bulk of their power.”
Well, I'm not sleeping tonight. Thanks,
Daggy.
“That is indeed worrying,” Lord
Tyrus said, in a still-regal, but worried tone, “Gerram, tell your
scouts to keep an eye out for Raki, and see if any of them can
identify the Newtype. Relax after that. You, Sayel, and Aero all need
it.”
“Understood!” Gerram said, before
walking off carrying a sleeping Aero, Sayel close behind him.
“Meanwhile,” Lord Tyrus continued,
“I believe you all earned some relaxing of a different kind. I just
transferred a large sum of money to each of your accounts for a job
well done! How about a nice mall day? I have no other missions for
you today.”
He opened a portal to our team's
favorite mall, The Lady Z Shopping District. Yes, Lady Z is a real
person, and yes, you'll meet her later. But not in this chapter.
...Don't tell the others I broke the fourth wall...
The LZSD (the full name of the mall is
a mouthful) is one Hell of a mall! Hundreds of shops divided into
four sections. Beauty Boulevard is the girls' favorite area. Clothes,
make-up, jewelry, and everything way more expensive than it should
be! Needs N' Wants is an area with just about everything you might
need (or want) for the house. From huge appliances and furniture to
cooking utensils and essential electronics. Cuisine Castle is
probably the biggest food court in Cielo, and has everything from the
typical mall junk food we love, to restaurants that require formal
wear and leave you looking rich but feeling hungry. And lastly, my
paradise, Otaku Oasis! Stores full of video games, anime, manga, and
thousands of lovely ecchi figures waiting to make their new home in
my room! ...What? Am I supposed to feel shame? Nonsense!
“Alright, so here's what's gonna
happen,” Athy said to us shortly after we arrived, “Me and the
girls are getting new clothes and jewelry. You guys head over to
Otaku Oasis. Raine , buy your creepy shit and shove it in one of the
lockers, because we're meeting in Cuisine Castle in two hours, and
then I'm going to Otaku Oasis because I need some new manga that just
came out. Everyone that's gonna get get it got it? Let's move out,
troops!”
“The nerve of that brat calling my
figures 'creepy!'” I complained to Ki as the girls walked off.
“Dude, the first place you hit up
every time we come here is called 'Imouto Stop,'” he argued back,
“I don't need to walk into that damn store (and I won't) to know
that place is full of figurines of barely dressed lolis. I think the
teasing is justified.”
“Hey, you have loli figures too!”
“I have a few. And they are fully
dressed. And they are from action animes and games.”
“Mine are from action animes too,
just a different kind of action...”
“Whatever, bro. You hit up Creep
Stop, I'm going to Game Changers to see if they got a few new games
I've been looking forward to.”
Just then, something hit us. Something
that we felt earlier that day. Something we hoped we'd never feel
again...
“Urgh! Damn it!” Ki groaned as both
of us struggle to stay on our feet, while the weight of that horrible
power began crushing us yet again. Looking around, everyone nearby
was passing out left and right. Just like last time, it stopped as
soon as it started. But this time, the Newtype wasn't done with us.
She emerged from the shadows and began walking toward us. Impossibly
tall. Long, black hair in a ponytail. A black trenchcoat that made
her look even taller and more intimidating. And a huge scythe even
bigger than she was. Even though she wasn't expelling huge amounts of
power anymore, the sight of her walking toward us was somehow even
heavier. She stopped just a few yards from us, and looked down at all
the people she'd made faint.
“Well, one of you is clearly who I'm
looking for,” she said in a tone that made me think of every
psychopath I'd ever seen in a true crime video, “That makes things
easier. Now, which of you is named Kiel?”
Well, nice knowing you buddy.
“I-I am,” the dead-man-walking
boldly replied, “Who are you?”
“That's a silly question. You know me
quite well, dear Kiel. Or at least, you used to.”
“You got a thing for crazy chics,
buddy?” I asked him, “You work for Athy, Aphy is trying to put
hands on you, and now you've got history with an undiscovered
species.”
“I have no idea who the Hell you
are!” Kiel shouted at the girl, “So how about a bit of
backstory?!”
“Oh, sweet Kiel, there's no time fore
that,” she told him, “We have work to do. You'll remember exactly
who I am in due time. For now-”
She disappeared from where she was in
an instant! I turned toward Kiel. She was right behind him with her
scythe less than and inch from his throat. He was frozen. So was I!
How the Hell fast is this woman?!
“Hmmm, slightly disappointing,” she
said, “You didn't see a single step of that, did you?”
She disappeared from behind Kiel and
appeared where she was before. Once again, in an instant.
“You really are faster than Aphy...”
Kiel stated timidly, “Once again, who are you, and what are you?”
“For now, I need you to remember
three things Kiel,” the fastest woman in existence said, “One, my
name is Kila. Two, you're more than what you think you are. And
three, stay close to Solaphia. She'll keep you alive until you
realize what you really are.”
“Wait!” Kiel cried out as she
turned away, “I said wait, damn it!!!”
No good. Whatever reason Kiel had for
wanting her to wait, she disappeared, this time not to reappear
anywhere near us.
“Shit!” Kiel swore.
“What was that 'shit' for, bro?” I
asked him, “Miss Crazy is gone, you don't die, and I don't die a
second time today.”
“Why did she seem to know me, and
what the Hell is she implying that I am?”
“Dude, she's freaking psycho. We can
take anything she says as the ramblings of a crazy woman. The more
important thing right now is getting the Medical Corps down here to
help the people that are unconscious. Oh, but Aphy is sure to come
with them, so I suggest you flee the scene!”
“I certainly don't have the energy to
run from her right now...”
With Kiel a safe distance away, I
called up the Med Corps, and lucky me, guess who picked up...
“Raine!” Aphy screamed in my ear,
“Why are you calling me?! Is my Kiel okay?! I told you what happens
to all of you if anything happens to him!!!”
“Damn, girl, chill!” I yelled back,
“Kiel is fine! Look, we need a team of ten medics here at Otaku
Oasis in the LZSD.”
“What happened over there?”
“At least a dozen civilians rendered
unconscious by an overwhelming burst of energy. I'll explain more
when you get here, just get here!”
Five minutes later, Aphy arrived with
her medics. These boys wasted no time in healing people and checking
them over. Aphy may be a Kiel-phile, but she's damn good at her
actual job.
“I guess I'll hold off asking about
my Kiel at the moment,” she told me when she approached me, “I'll
ask instead about what in Cielo happened here?!”
So explained everything. Kila, her
abilities, and , most importantly, the things she said. Left out the
part about Kiel almost getting his head taken off... I don't need
that kinda drama...
“Hmmm...interesting...” Aphy
replied kinda plainly.
“Not the enthusiastic response I was
expecting,” I said, “It may all sound crazy, but I can't make
this crap up!”
“Not doubting, just thinking. The
thing about Kiel. Where is my precious prince anyway?”
“You think I was gonna call you to
the scene without having him evacuate the premises?”
“Meeeeeanie! Boo!”
“Come on, if you know what Kila was
talking about, spill it!”
“Well, dumbface, as you probably
know, I have the unique ability to feel anomalies within a person
just by touching them.”
“You do touch Kiel a lot...”
“Shut it! Anyway, a few times, when
I've been snuggling him against his will, I felt the slightest tinge
of something inside Kiel that...isn't quite Kiel...”
“What do you mean?”
“It's so faint that I don't know what
it is. And I'd rather you keep your mouth shut about this
conversation.”
“Not cool, Aph! Doesn't Ki have the
right to know if there's something strange about him?”
“Look here Raine! It's most likely
nothing to worry about! And if it is nothing, I don't want my Kiel
getting stressed over nothing!”
“What's the worst case scenario?”
“...Well...”
Just as I was about to (maybe) get a
straight answer, enter Athy.
“Sooooooo, about this?” Athy said
to me after looking at the scene, “I was just coming over here
because I got a notification about a flash sale on mangas, and
everyone is passed out, my Demi-god is nowhere in sight, and the last
person I want to see on a daily basis is here.”
Before I had a chance to explain what
happened, Aphy had dashed over to Athy and punched her in the face.
It was at that point that I remembered what I was once told by Kiel
and Lord Tyrus. Never let these two females be in close proximity to
each other unless Lord Tyrus is there to mediate, or Kiel is there to
distract Aphy. I had neither...
“You got a problem, *****?!” Athy
yelled at her sister, “I wanna punch you every time I see you too,
but I don't!”
“What the actual Hell were you
thinking, Relathica?!” Aphy screamed back at her, “There's a
powerful Demon with a vendetta against Kiel, and an unidentified
being running around, and you 're not keeping an eye on my Kiel every
second?! He could be in danger at this very moment!”
“I'd say the fact that he isn't here
makes him safe from you at least! And before you ***** at me more,
how about you let Raine explain what the Hell happened?”
So, I did explain.
“Okay, NOW Aphy's nonsense bitching
makes sense!”
“Why do you never take protecting
YOUR Demi-god seriously?!” Aphy continued yelling, “You're his
Goddess! It's your duty!”
“Three things, my dear sister
Solaphia! One, Kiel is like a brother to me! The old Goddess and
Demi-god dynamic is not our thing! Two, even if I wanted to keep a
constant eye on Kiel, HE wouldn't want that! And three, I can trust
him to handle himself! He's already proven on multiple occasions that
he's tougher to kill than a Cielan Armored Beetle!”
Just as those two looked like they were
about to start throwing hands (around over a dozen recovering people)
my one true savior appeared.
“Chill Aphy,” Kiel said, “I'm
right here.”
“MY DARLING!!!” Aphy cried before
tackling him to the ground and cuddling him furiously.
“You sacrifice is appreciated, good
martyr,” I said to him.
“Shut the Hell up and go buy a damn
crowbar,” he groaned, resisting the unwanted love. Athy and I had a
good laugh. We called DAG and Eria to where we were, and we all
agreed it'd be best if we ended our mall trip early. But Kiel... Just
what are you, little brother?
Five-Planes 101, By Athy!
Athy: Okay, time for class! Everyone in
their seats! Hey, no flirting in my class, you two!
Aphy: In that case, Kiel and I would
like to be excused to the restroom!
Kiel: Heck no! I'd like to be excused
to the principal's office to file a sexual harassment complaint!
Raine: Princess boy...
Aphy: I'm teaching here! No one is
excused anywhere! Now, today I'd like to discuss Cielo's
infrastructure! On that subject, Cielo is much like Life. We have
hospitals, grocery stores, office buildings, schools, and, of course,
malls! However, we have no driving roads and not many bridges. The
stamina and speed of Gods, Demi-gods, and Angels make civilian
vehicles in Cielo unnecessary. Also, the King God portals teleport
officials and military wherever they're needed instantly. Thanks to
these factors, the lovely nature of Cielo is left alone to flourish.
Raine: You say Angels have more
stamina, but my feet always hurt. Kiel, you're carrying me from now
on!
Aphy: Hmmm... Kiel is mine, but there's
BL potential there...
Kiel: Raine, I'm not carrying you!
Aphy, stop fantasizing! Athy, end the segment!
Athy: Fiiiiine! You guys are drawing
attention from me anyway. Relathica, signing off! See ya next time!
