Chapter 1
“You punk.”
Wow. Was that a word to be said so politely? It was a low and light voice as if the company owner was calling ‘Manager Kim’. The corners of his lips slowly rose at his gentle voice.
It was fortunate that the dignified man with a proud face who seemed to be my father, did not look very angry. If he was angry, he would have made a deafening noise, not the voice that I heard now. The people of the chaebol family, who were usually seen in dramas, always looked hysterical. Well, this much swearing was a better reaction than what I expected.
[T/N: Chaebol- (in South Korea) A large family-owned business conglomerate.]
“Do you think it’s fun to live like that? I can’t even walk anywhere without hearing news of any trouble caused by you, b*stard.”
He spoke harshly, but to me, he looked like an executive of a company that is introducing new products. I just smiled at the new discipline that hit me hard with a soft and gentle tone. Looking at it, it was a little unfair to hear that from his father. Because I wasn’t the one he was referred to.
“What does my son carry around in his head? Will you tell me when I have to cut it apart and open it?”
Even the harshest words are spoken gently, so there is no damage.
I listened to him while maintaining an attentive position. Was he even impressed by my upright posture? The corners of the father’s lips were twitching several times.
“You punk. I told you not to beat people up. That’s the hardest thing to deal with.”
I should have said ‘I didn’t hit anyone’, but the blood on my fist hasn’t dried up yet, so I decided to put it aside for a while. It was obvious that my fist had properly beaten someone.
“Your company’s legal team is exclusive to you, right? Do you think talented people should be used for violent incidents?”
Now I couldn’t just listen to what I did but didn’t do. When I tried to open my mouth to protest, I closed my eyes reflexively due to something flying towards me. Immediately, I felt extreme pain on my forehead.
“Ugh.”
A painful moan came out of my mouth. When I looked at the carpeted floor, a clear glass ashtray had fallen. In this situation, that’s probably what hit my forehead. Not surprisingly, there was red blood on the tip of the ashtray.
I had seen this scene a lot in dramas. In-person, it looks brutal. Surprised by the father’s gentle tone and violence, I looked at him. Was there ever a time when this punk was hit? It was a little different from what I knew. A crazy guy who only seeks pleasure with his disrupted personality. I wondered why he was like that. Now that I see him, it’s exactly like his father.
“It hurts? You shouldn’t feel pain. You shouldn’t just be hurt after killing a person.”
Seeing that throwing an ashtray could not relieve his anger, he approached and kicked me in the shin with his shoe nose.
“Argh!”
A terrifying scream erupted.
‘It f*cking hurts so much. Do all luxury shoes have metal on their shoe noses?’
If I knew this would happen, I would have gone home. Then at least I wouldn’t be getting hit by his shoe, would I? I was dragged in for no reason. I should have rebelled and asked him to go home. I raised my shin and wrapped it with both hands in a crane-like pose. Even if you press it with your hands to see how strong the pain is, the pain that keeps poking your bone does not go away. In that state, my father reached out his big hand to me.
“Give me your card.”
“?”
‘What card?’
When I looked away, my father called in Secretary Kim. I didn’t even know he was in this space until now. Come to think of it, he was the person who brought me in front of my father. I’m right, but he’s just watching! During the first meeting, he stopped me but he didn’t even seem to think about stopping my father.
“Hold this punk. I’ll confiscate the car keys.”
“Okay, sir.”
“If you make a mistake again, I know how to send you to the military.”
“What?”
Except for the painful groan, the first word I said was only a stupid counter-question, ‘What?’ But I was terrified by the word military and so I asked.
“Military service?”
‘Why me? Why the military? Military? No. F*ck. I finished my military service.’
Why is the military story coming up here? Re-enlisting is a thing that I won’t do again even if someone gave me 1 billion won.
“Secretary Kim, get him out of my sight right now.”
The father, who issued the congratulatory order, was adamant. While being dragged away by Secretary Kim, I tried to rebel but it was useless. It didn’t look like Secretary Kim was so strong.
I was dragged by him into an elevator connecting to the CEO’s office. I asked him about the unfairness of the situation as soon as I got on.
“Did I do something wrong enough to get hit?”
Secretary Kim didn’t seem to be interested in my injustice at all. I just looked straight at the face of an office worker suffering from work pressure. Still, as I kept looking at him, Secretary Kim opened his mouth as if it was a bit annoying.
“At least you shouldn’t have caused any more trouble. The incident that caused the controversy has not been cleared up yet. If we get caught up in any more than this, it will be very difficult for us to handle.”
‘What are you saying, he caused more trouble here? Wow, you’re such a jerk.’
[T/N: Here “you” is referred to the person’s body he is in as that person is the one who caused the trouble.]
“Oh f*ck.”
He was a character that could not survive without swearing. How much of a piece of garbage were you to hear this from Secretary Kim? Come to think of it, I think the name ‘b*stard’ suits him very well, which has always emerged as a related search term with his name.
Secretary Kim was a bit more sympathetic towards me.
“I have no choice but to suspend your card. Don’t you know the CEO’s personality? He’ll probably double-check to see if the card has been suspended.”
“Then what about that money?”
Secretary Kim shrugged only once and fixed his gaze on the screen where the number of floors changed. As if he had nothing more to say, he put one hand on his forehead and the other on his shin.
“Seeing you in pain doesn’t seem like a dream….”
Just because this situation was not a dream does not mean that it’s real. Usually, when it comes to possessing, you wake up and look at your awkward body and say,
“Argh! No, I’m XX in the novel?”‘
Isn’t it the right way to do it? I didn’t become possessed in my sleep, nor did I get hit and killed by a truck and then went straight to possessing someone. In addition, the moment of immersion was not in the middle of beating the person who started this scandal, but in a situation when Secretary Kim stopped him after he beat up everyone.
“This is kind of unfair.”
I possessed a chaebol character, but my cards and car were taken away immediately. This is unfair. Isn’t it unfair? In addition, if I make another mistake, I will be sent to the military. It’s only been two months since I was discharged from the military.
“This doesn’t make sense.”
Secretary Kim glanced at me talking to myself and added a word sympathetically.
“If you stay quiet for about a month, the CEO will release you, Young Master Ha-jin.”
He’s the young master. It’s not my name, but Secretary Kim calls me that. However, it was a familiar name. How can I not know it?
It’s famous, Yoo Ha-jin. A webtoon character that looks exactly like me.
Yes, it’s me. Sub Yandere.
……………..
T/N: This chapter is about the MC’s life, before he became a webtoon character. (Those who haven’t read the description, I would recommend you to read the description first to understand this story better.)

Is there anyone whose life is as hard as mine? As soon as I arrived at the university, my classmates started to tease me.
“Did you watch the news today? You were on the public TV news.”
“What? What else happened, Yoo Ha-jin?”
For your information, my name is not Yoo Ha-jin. So even though I am not Yoo Ha-jin, people compare me to him. Why? Because it’s a webtoon character that looks exactly like me.
Being curious, Jimin snatched Min-woo’s cell phone immediately. After confirming the contents, Jimin couldn’t help being surprised. Yeah, I was surprised, too. Yoo Ha-jin even appeared on the public TV news!
“Wow, that’s true. The real Yoo Ha-jin was on the news! Is the world going crazy?”
“It’s crazy, it’s crazy. Are they using webtoon characters because they have nothing else to show on the news?”
Whether my classmates were trying to amaze me with this situation or were just teasing me, I wish they only did one of them.
“Will you, Yoo Ha-jin, the representative of overusing power, be overusing power too?”
At Jimin’s question, Min-woo condescended as if he knew the situation very well.
“He will definitely overuse his power. He’s a total jerk who does everything bad in the world. How famous is he? When it comes to Yoo Ha-jin, he’s a complete b*stard. Didn’t you learn any formalities?”
“I don’t read webtoons.”
I didn’t like the two of them looking at the cell phone and saying useless things, so I took it from Jimin’s hand.
On the screen, the anchor was sitting at the desk, and the title said, [How far will the chaebol’s power trip be tolerated?] On the data screen floating in the upper right corner, Yoo Ha-jin, a character from a webtoon, was embedded like a wanted criminal.
Yeah, everyone says that it is a popular webtoon and now Yoo Ha-jin was used and broadcasted as a news material. When I watched this scene on TV while preparing to leave for university in the morning, I stopped in my tracks and blinked several times. I screamed inside saying, “This can’t be real.”
“Look at the comments. You’ll be out of breath, laughing.”
At Min-woo’s words, I scrolled down and looked at the comment window.
⟨Comment Section⟩
– ㅅㅂㅋㅋㅋ Why is our son of a b*tch here?
– Ha Jin? Why did you overuse your power? Did you get caught on the news because of violence and promiscuous privacy?
– It’s Ha Jin-ah. You can’t use him.
– Ha Jin appeared on the public TV network. Saving it as an anniversary on xxxx year xx month xx day.
– If you don’t get sick of subs after seeing Ha-Jin, you’re not a human.
– Yoo Ha-jin. It makes me glad to see your face on the news in the morning. Son of b*tch.
– What is it? Which manhwa?
ᄂIt’s our Ha-jin!
ㄴHa-jin? Who is that? Why did they draw montages like a cartoon?
ㄴㄴ Ack ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I’m crying.
ㄴㄴ Are you crazy? Montage.
ㄴㄴ ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Montage ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
ㄴㄴ ㅅㅂㅋㅋㅋㅋ Can someone explain to “Fan ID”? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
ㄴㄴ It’s a webtoon called [The Circumstances Of The Golden Spooners]. It’s Sub-Yandere Ha Jin who appears there. He’s also known as “B*stard”. Very handsome, very cool, very handsome, very handsome, very hot, but he is…
ㄴㄴㄴ?????
ㄴㄴㄴ ᄏᄏ This person doesn’t understand!!!
ㄴㄴㄴ The explanation is very simple. That’s amazingly summarised. Minimum bel 1 type reader.
[T/N: Bel- a unit used for the comparison of power levels in electrical communication or of intensities of sound, corresponding to an intensity level of 10 to 1.
Here “bel” is probably used to mean that the understanding capability of the reader is of type 1 which is very low.]
– Did you take any drugs before making the news? How did you get past the data screen? That’s an R-rated BL webtoon!
– The writer is trying to drop Ha-jin’s stock like crazy, but we’re the ones who volley on it. Whether it’s a joke or a bad taste, I’m proud. Our little b*stard Ha-jin was recognized by the news.
– (This comment is deleted.)
ㄴ “Fan ID”, delete it. If you become famous by commenting a lot, you may go down to webtoons. The parties said they hated it.
ㄴㄴ What is it?
ㄴㄴ Someone in the comments said that there are people who look like Yoo Hajin.
ㄴㄴㄴAre you crazy? Twin? Someone who looks like our Ha-jin? Our Ha Jin is there in reality? Give me some hints.
ㄴㄴㄴ In the university that is shown in the webtoon.
ㄴㄴㄴAre you crazy? University A? You must be good at studying. I gave up in junior year.
ㄴㄴㄴ Feng Ye, a senior in our department ㅋㅋㅋ. He is a very smart student. As soon as he enters the university, all the students go crazy. Because of him [The Circumstances Of The Golden Spooners] became a must-read webtoon. Thank you for being Yoo Ha-jin in person.
Without reading further, I threw the cell phone at Minwoo.
“As expected, chaebols are different. Throwing the phone away? Huh?”
When I saw Min-woo jokingly saying that he got another one, I couldn’t let it go quietly. My head was hurting at the thought of how much people would gossip.
“It’s because the writer was a student at our university. The background is also the same as this university. Isn’t Yoo Ha Jin’s face the same as yours? If they used a person’s face, they should have paid him a fee.”
“Minwoo, have you read it?”
“Ofcourse, I have read it but shouldn’t you all read it too?”
“You need an ID and stuff. It’s R-rated, so it’s charged.”
“I have already paid for it. Yoo Hajin, have you read it?”
I couldn’t stand the jokes of my classmates any longer and got up from my seat. When I packed my bag, Min-woo grabbed me as if he was sorry, but I shook it off.
“You are so cold. Isn’t it just a joke? Do you want to borrow a cap? I brought it.”
“Oh, Min Woo. Why did you bring a cap? You don’t even wear them. Are you going to give it to Yoo Hajin?
“He’s my friend so I must take care of him.”
“It’s fine.”
But before I knew it, I took the cap from his hand and left. On the way to the classroom, the gazes of the people following me were several times worse than usual. Now that there’s a public news, even the people who didn’t know about it have come to know. I have truly become a celebrity.
‘Oh, damn that webtoon! Damn Yoo Hajin!’
My normal life was completely ruined by it.
…………………..........................
\=**For the people who didn’t understand the meaning of “Sub Yandere”… No it’s not semi-yandere or something. If you guys have been a BL reader for a long time, then you guys might have heard of the words “Sub” and “Dom” which mean “Submissive” and “Dominant” (in simple words “dom” means “top” and “sub” means “bottom”). So the “Sub” in the title of the novel means “Submissive”. And about “Yandere”, it’s like someone who acts like a good person from the outside but is like a crazy, heartless or possessive person inside. But truthfully the word that was used in Korean in the place of “Yandere” didn’t have an exact meaning, it roughly means “Possessive lover” (in this case, that Webtoon character who got possessed by our MC, was a possessive lover.) I thought “Yes, It’s Me. Sub Possessive lover” would not sound that good for a title so I changed it to “Yes, It’s Me. Sub Yandere” as it has almost similar meaning. I hope this clears the confusion about the title of this novel (though I am not good at explaining) (╹▽╹ )
\=“ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ” these just are like “Ha ha ha” indicating laughing sounds so I didn’t translate these and just kept it as it is.
This story is written from the perspective of the MC, so the whole story is in first person**.
Chapter 2
Mumbling inside, I passed by the front door of the classroom and opened the familiar back door. Some people turned around and looked at me. Then, they made a fuss and patted the backs and arms of those who did not look behind. Then, they turned their heads and looked at me. When I had gotten everyone’s attention within 10 seconds of entering the classroom, I felt like I had become a professor.
Because of this attention, I couldn’t even use the front door and go in through the back door, but these people did not respect my hard work.
Among the small whispering sounds, the name ‘Yoo Ha-jin’ had poked my heart.
“Ha… Should I sue the writer?”
As Min-woo said, the background of the webtoon was set at our University, so there was no doubt that the character Yoo Ha-jin was made based on my face. Then, make other characters based on other students from our University too! Then, the attention would have been focused on the main characters instead. Unfortunately, I was the only one who had the same face as one of the characters.
As I sat down and put my bag on the desk, seriously contemplating the mess, I felt something wrap around my body. I bowed my head out of wonder, and noticed an arm draped in a black suit.
“Huh?”
While I was still wondering who it was, my body was pulled back and I took a step back without realizing it. The classroom was in a stair-type structure. That is impossible, I thought, then I looked behind me.
“Secretary Kim?”
The classroom, which had been bright so far, had suddenly turned dark. Secretary Kim, who had put his hair back and looked like he was at work. He opened his mouth and made eye contact with me with his empty eyes that had no feelings.
“Stop it. If you do more, your opponent will die.”
What? What did you want me to stop? Secretary Kim pointed forward with a nod. As I turned my head in the direction he pointed, a long glass table shattered, and one of the tables collapsed as if he had lost control of his mind. There were several people around who looked very good and were dressed in luxurious clothes, but they all trembled as if they were afraid.
“What should I do…?”
“Crazy man. Why were you flirting with Yoo Ha-jin…?”
“What? Aren’t you dead?”
I heard small whispers from those around me. When I turned my head to a group of people talking, I made eye contact with a child who looked rich and had a dirty personality. When he made eye contact with me, he quickly turned away as if he was afraid. I had never heard before that I could look frightening.….I turned my head again and tried to force my brain to understand this unfamiliar situation.
“What is this? I was in the classroom until just now.”
What was happening? A person was lying down in the dark, people around him were trembling with fear, and I’m caught by Secretary Kim?
No, that’s not important right now. How did I know that Secretary Kim is the one who caught me?
That’s because I had also paid for it and read the webtoon called [The Circumstances Of The Golden Spooners].
Secretary Kim looked exactly like this.
“Uh? I think this is enough.”
❖ ❖ ❖
I never thought I would read BL webtoons. It was Yoo Ha-jin who led me to BL webtoons, who himself hadn’t even read webtoons. It’s embarrassing to say it myself, but I’ve been praised for my appearance since I was young. It was after being discharged from the military that receiving compliments of being handsome had suddenly changed to “Wow, you look like Yoo Ha-jin.”
So, who was Yoo Ha-jin? I still didn’t know what was going on in the world during my military enlistment, so I didn’t know why everyone was talking about Yoo Ha-jin. At first, I thought he was a celebrity who was not very famous because he was rarely seen in the media, but I didn’t know Yoo Ha-jin was a webtoon character. That too, from an R-rated BL webtoon!
Gradually, my surroundings were eroded by the name Yoo Ha-jin, and I began to be called Yoo Ha-jin more than my own name. At this point, I was slowly becoming curious about Yoo Ha-jin. So I typed his name in the search box.
[Yoo Ha-jin]
Then, the related search words appeared.
[Yoo Ha-jin] [Yoo Ha-jin’s wealth] [Yoo Ha-jin’s body] It was just a sin. When I looked at related search terms, the idea of a crazy man came out of nowhere. I thought he was some kind of trash, so I found his picture. To be exact, it was a painting, not a photograph.
“Isn’t that me?”
Looking at the painting of Yoo Ha-jin, I said the same thing as others. No matter how similar we looked, I wondered if he would look the exact same, but Yoo Ha-jin looked like he was alive in the picture as if someone had traced me. Yes, since a character that looked exactly like me appeared in a webtoon, I had to take a look at it.
I was reluctant to get a 19-year-old ticket pass with the title [The Circumstances Of The Golden Spooners], but my hands were fast to flip through the pages on the screen. When I read the Webtoon, Yoo Ha-jin was a b*stard that far exceeded my expectations to the extent that I could hear myself say ‘Oh f*ck’.
[The Circumstances Of The Golden Spooners] The reason why the webtoon was R rated was because of Yoo Ha-jin. Yoo Ha-jin was the biggest b*stard in the world, harassing the main character Choi Sun-woo, who ignored him. He went wild and tumbled around here and there. I didn’t even know if he would pay the price of his consequences, later or not.
It was a character that was seasoned properly, and the cider fed me a lot, so the content was fun. You know what? If the crazy guy is on our side, he can be considered reliable.
This punk, Yoo Ha-jin, couldn’t stand others’ harassment even if he bullied the main character, Choi Sun-woo. He saved him and bullied him again and again. The author tried to instill in the reader that it was his true love.
“I like love.”
The author described it as love, but it was extremely violent and out of place. Therefore, he must have won the title of an undisputed b*stard in the webtoon world, to the point where it appeared in real world news.
❖ ❖ ❖
I sat in the back seat of a glossy black luxury foreign car and tried to organize this ridiculous situation. No matter how much I thought about it, I couldn’t understand this situation. As soon as I entered the classroom and sat on a chair, I became Yoo Ha-jin, a webtoon character, as if the background suddenly changed. My body didn’t change because I looked the same as him anyway. However, all of my surroundings had changed.
Even if I thought about it, I didn’t know what had happened. On the other hand, was it okay? A thought creeped in. Come to think of it, Yoo Ha-jin was a perfect person that lacked nothing, except for acting like a b*stard. For Yoo Ha-jin, life was already on a solid footing having the title of the only son of the CEO of Eunha Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Korea.
Compared to a life that was unintentionally in the spotlight, versus receiving attention from people because of the overlapping name Yoo Ha-jin, it might be better to be Yoo Ha-jin. Being Yoo Ha-jin comes with a price. The price of being a chaebol.
“You were very patient at the meeting earlier, in front of the CEO.”
Secretary Kim awakened me from my thoughts. Secretary Kim, sitting next to the driver, turned his head and seemed to be looking at the wound on my forehead.
“We’ll go to the hospital.”
“No, let’s go home. It’s not a big deal.”
Secretary Kim looked through the rearview mirror one more time, wondering, and told the driver to go home without saying anymore. It seemed strange to see meek words coming out of my mouth. If it was Yoo Ha-jin in the webtoon, he would have broken something by now.
Looking at the rapidly changing buildings in the city, we entered a neighborhood where I could see houses with high walls. The car stopped in front of the house with a similar high wall. It had a familiar appearance, it was the house where Yoo Ha-jin lived alone.
“Let’s go.”
Secretary Kim walked out of the car, said hello, and took the car back again. Fortunately, when I rummaged through my pocket, I found my house key. Thinking that Yoo Ha-jin lived alone in a large house-like palace that I had only seen on TV, I thought he really was a chaebol.
The inside of the house was exactly as what I saw in the webtoon. Yoo Ha-jin, who became independent while attending college, was living alone in a house, grand enough for a large family to live in. I searched through my pocket again and took out my cell phone. The cell phone set to silent was filled with numerous missed calls and messages. Like his character, Yoo Ha-jin always kept his cell phone silent and contacted people only when he needed it.
“I need to organize the people around me first.”
Yoo Ha-jin, this b*stard was of poor quality, so there were only gangsters or trash hanging around him right now. Therefore, all the people who contacted this cell phone were people who had to be cleaned up. I turned off the power of the phone and threw it into the trash can.
“Yoo Ha-jin, I need some compensation for my life that you twisted.”
I’ll show you how much money a chaebol citizen makes. Oh, a month later. They said the card is suspended now.
My forehead tingled when my mind cleared up to some extent. I looked for a first aid kit to treat my wound, but the size of this house was too large and there was nothing in the drawers I looked through. It was difficult to find a first aid kit in a house that just had the appearance of a model house. I even opened the refrigerator but of course there was no way the first aid kit would be there. There was a moderate amount of food in the refrigerator. Fortunately, there were no mishaps such as ‘Yoo Ha-jin’s refrigerator is full of Evian’ that were posted in the comments of the webtoon.
After a while, I gave up and sat on the sofa. I should have gone earlier when Secretary Kim said he was going to the hospital. I left the house to find a first aid kit, to treat my wound and avoid leaving a scar. There were only cards in my wallet, but I rushed to the pharmacy, in case they suspended the credit card today.
Since it was late in the evening, it was difficult to find a pharmacy that was open even after passing through the residential area and going out to the street. As I walked to some extent, one place was open and brightly lit up.
“Thank God.”
When I opened the door of the pharmacy, a rattling sound rang. There was already a customer inside the pharmacy, so I waited behind them. While responding to the customers, the pharmacist noticed my existence and asked kindly, “What are you looking for?”
“Please give me ointment and a band-aid.”
“Yes, wait a minute.”
Fortunately, the customer who came first had accepted my request to find industrial products, and whether I had to prepare the medicine or not. After a while, the pharmacist took out the medicine and said it’s 6,000 won. As I handed over the card straight away and stood still, I could feel the gaze of the customer standing next to me. I looked over.
“Huh?”
He had a familiar face. He had a presence that seemed to attract attention wherever he went and beautiful features that seemed to be drawn by the artist with great care. His light brown eyes were exactly as described in the webtoon. Is it because of that? Yoo Ha-jin couldn’t erase the thought of wanting to make him cry.
He felt quite different from what I had seen initially in the webtoon. As a character, he was quite attractive and colorful in person. Maybe it was because I had seen his ***** body countless times. Maybe it was because he was the one who drove Yoo Ha-jin crazy.
I just fell for his face in a face-to-face situation. Do people fall in love at first sight like this? But that was when I was Yoo Ha-jin. I simply admired his appearance.
“He’s handsome and pretty.”
When I looked closely, his face was slightly contorted. It was true that he recognized me. At my gaze, he turned his head and I kept looking at him curiously because I didn’t think I’d meet him in such a place like this. Then, the pharmacist put out the card again to me with a puzzled face.
“Excuse me, sir? The card isn’t working.”
Chapter 3
“Really? That’s a quick move.….”
I knew through the webtoon that Secretary Kim was quick to get things done. But I didn’t expect it to be this quick. I gave Secretary Kim five rounds of applause in my heart for his neat and speedy handling of matters, who had blocked the card within less than an hour.
I took the card that the pharmacist gave and stared at the person next to me.
My opponent was trying to ignore my gaze. Yoo Ha-jin would have gone completely crazy to those who ignored him. There were always a lot of people around him who were busy flattering him, but in the meantime, these kinds of people were different.
However, not only was I different, but there was only a pure appreciation for
‘The main character who was drawn with great care.’
[\=: If you guys are getting confused then let me tell you, Yoo Ha-jin is not the main character of the webtoon, the main character is Choi Sun-woo. Here the speaker is saying that he has only pure appreciation for Sun-woo and he is not crazy like Ha-jin.]
If there’s anything I want from him, I’d like to borrow 6,000 won?
“Sunwoo.”
Perhaps my call was unexpected, but he looked at me with his eyebrows twisted. That’s true, Yoo Ha-jin never called Choi Sun-woo friendly. I found that I possessed him before the webtoon even began. It was when I just entered University A* and became a sophomore. This webtoons began when I was in the third year, and Choi Sun-woo, who is still the main character, Yoo Ha-jin was just a classmate who attended the same University.
[\=: The name of the University is denoted as “A”.]
[\=: For anybody who is confused about the above paragraph. I think he is saying that he was in the third year of University when the webtoon started, but when he entered the webtoon, he saw that he is a sophomore, which means Ha-jin is a sophomore.]
Isn’t it a good time to be possessed?
[\=: I think he said that because he thinks it would be easier for him to do the classes and all because he already passed that.]
The reason why Choi Sun-woo despises me was probably because Yoo Ha-jin is a well-known b*stard at school. I agree with him to some extent, so I generously understood and extended my palms to him.
“I’ll only have six thousand won.”
I smiled at him very kindly. This is the first time Choi Sun-woo has seen Yoo Ha-jin’s pure smile which has never appeared in the webtoon. So lending about 6,000 won is not a low-cost business.
Choi Sun-woo didn’t seem to see me very well according to the character. There was little change in his expression, but a slight contempt was caught by my stinging eyes.
When Choi Sun-woo’s medicine came out, he paid the bill and left the pharmacy coolly without saying anything.
As he went out, the bell on the door rattled and rang clear through the pharmacy. In the sound, only the pharmacist with anxious eyes and I, who made a slightly rough breathing sound, were facing each other awkwardly.
‘Choi Sunwoo is completely ignoring me.’
Even though I was not Yoo Ha-jin, strangely my emotions were boiling a little. The thought of getting back at him in some way came to my mind. But I closed my eyes and calmed myself down. Because Choi Sun-woo is good at fighting.
The main character who was good at fighting was great, but Yoo Ha-jin, who overcame it, was also great. They both had similar fighting skills, but Yoo Ha-jin was crazy. A mad dog can’t beat a man.
“Well, aren’t you going to pay?”
“…….”
The pharmacist broke the awkward silence and demanded money from me. His legitimate request left me speechless, fiddling with the suspended cards.
Today was the day I became a chaebol. Who would have known that the conglomerate would only fiddle with the suspended cards because he didn’t even have 6,000 won?
[\=: Chaebol- (in South Korea) a large family-owned business conglomerate.]
❖ ❖ ❖
There was no difficulty in University. The background of Yoo Ha-jin’s University was where I went. Knowing the school system, I picked Yoo Ha-jin’s timetable and headed straight to University. For a month, Yoo Ha-jin will clean up the sins of the world and start a new life as soon as card use resumes.
While walking through campus, a well-stretched foreign car slowed down next to me and opened the window.
“Hajin-ah.”
I couldn’t tell who it was just by his voice. But seeing him pretending to know me, he’s 100% a bully. I ignored it and walked my way. Then I heard the car door open and close behind me, and I felt someone walking side by side. He was a little taller than me and handsome, but a fierce face looked at me and smiled brightly. Smiling dampened the ferocious feeling.
“Are you alright? Jungwoo’s been acting tactless a lot, but he doesn’t even know the topic. I should have been there. Yesterday was my grandfather’s anniversary, so I had to stay home quietly. You know, my family is conservative.”
No. I don’t know anything about your family being conservative. His words about his family affairs that I didn’t want to hear, didn’t even enter my head. I was more concerned about the car he had abandoned than his words.
Why did you park your car on the school road and follow me? The university is on the back road, so parking like that will obstruct the traffic.
“What about the car?”
Eventually, I got nervous and asked him. Fortunately, I recognized that he was Kim Shin, a supporting character who was carefully drawn by the webtoon artist and he had been chasing Yoo Ha-jin since he was a child. The second son of Sky Group. He was a normal person among those who Yoo Ha-jin was friends with. The webtoon artist was pricked by his conscience to draw Yoo Ha-jin’s surroundings as trash.
“Uh, it’s all right. I’ll bring it later.”
“Bring your car,”
“Oh, is that so? Do you want to ride it?”
“No.”
“Then let’s walk together. What’s wrong with your forehead? It’s bloody.”
“Kim Shin.”
When I called him softly, he grinned and looked at me with honey dripping eyes and waited silently for the latter part. It is like a ferocious hunting dog waving its tail in front of its owner. It was strange to see him, who had a sharp impression that he was tall and seemed to have a fight after being full of ruined motives.
‘Is Yoo Ha-jin’s character good?’
“Take the car, I’m going to walk by myself.”
“Is that so? I see. Then come carefully.”
I was relieved when Kim Shin went back the way he came and a car passed by me.
The more I walked into the uni*, the better I felt. No one talks to me at all. Yes, this was everyday life.
[\=: I will call the “University” in short as “Uni” now.]
When I returned to uni, this peace was shattered.*
[\=: He is talking about his previous life, before becoming Yoo-Hajin.]
I remembered my Uni life until yesterday on my way to the uni.
Everywhere I passed, people glanced and whispered here and there. The shutter sounds of the cell phone cameras that say they are taking pictures, were obvious. Unbeknownst to me, my photos were slowly spreading on the Internet. The interest was particularly severe especially on Thursdays when the webtoon was uploaded. And on a day when even a rated-R scene is released.
Ugh. I just felt ashamed for being exposed to the facilities that were openly watching me.
For now, I’m satisfied that I’ve become Yoo Ha-jin. There’s no one waiting for me in reality anyway….Arriving in the classroom, I entered the front door as if I was being compensated for using only the back door.
“Hajin-ah, you are here?”
“What a surprise! You came to your class.”
Those who found me handed me one word at a time. I knew that my friendship with the others was not good, so I was greeted with half wonder and half excitement.
“Hi.”
Then suddenly the classroom becomes quiet. There was a chill in the air as if cold water had been poured. No one spoke to me again. I tried to ignore the subdued atmosphere and looked at the empty back seat. There are reserved seats for Yoo Ha-jin in the lecture room. In the middle of the last seat. The last seat has always been occupied by the Yoo Ha-jin gang, so no one ever thought of sitting in the back.
‘Bullying isn’t a game at this age.’
I wasn’t Yoo Ha-jin, so I glanced at the back seat and sat in the front seat. Gradually, the lecture room was filling up, but no one sat next to me.
‘Wait, isn’t this bullying in a way?’
I pretended not to care, but I could see every student entering the classroom avoiding the front seat. This loneliness in the crowd, if I had a cell phone, I would hold onto it, but it was me who put it in the trash can yesterday, for some reason. I don’t have any money.
Why did I throw away my cell phone?
I was going to look through the trash can, but my energetic aunt who came to work in the morning said she had already put it outside.
There was no cell phone, no money, and it was very sad. As I was complaining to myself, someone sat next to me, where no one sat. I looked at who was thankfully sitting next to me, and it was Choi Sun-woo.
As expected, he’s the main character. I looked at his face as if I was looking at him with my chin on his chin, as if I was looking at a celebrity through a CRT.
[\=: CRT- A cathode-ray tube is a vacuum tube containing one or more electron guns, the beams of which are manipulated to display images on a phosphorescent screen. The images may represent electrical waveforms, pictures, radar targets, or other phenomena. A CRT on a television set is commonly called a picture tube. ]
He is an excessively handsome and pretty man who is neither good-looking nor soft to be the main character. Well, there was some color, though. Besides, he is in good shape. As it is a R-rated webtoon, Choi Sun-woo, portrayed in such a scene to some extent, had solid muscles firmly embedded on him.
“Ah, F*ck.”
While recalling the scene, Yoo Ha-jin’s crazy scene above Choi Sun-woo also came to mind. Why should I feel ashamed when I didn’t do it!
“Should I sit somewhere else?”
It was a nice thick voice, but the tone was as chilly as the cold wind in winter. If you speak kindly, I think my ears will melt.
Choi Sun-woo wrinkled his forehead, perhaps he misunderstood me as swearing at him. He was attractive because it felt sensitive even when he wrinkled his forehead. Looking at his face, I couldn’t understand the author’s taste.
‘Is this the boy who gets crushed on by others just by looking at him? Anyone who sees him would say that he looks like he’s going to put others down.’
“No, stay with me.”
Speaking of which, I wondered if I had to put the words “next to me”.
I was synchronized with Yoo Hajin just because I read the webtoon. Feeling awkward, he smiled at Choi Sun-woo, but he ignored it and just did his job.
Choi Sun-woo didn’t even pay attention to me throughout the class.
