Vanessa entered the classroom and choose a seat at the second row from the front, it's still early in the morning and not many students were here at the school yet. Today was the first day of school and the feeling of joy commonly surround the students, but not this year for Vanessa. When she found out that she was in one class with Titan, she felt she wouldn't be able to enjoy her eleven grade. She swept her sight around her new classroom and saw Titan was already there, sitting alone at the corner of the class. Vanessa couldn't help but wonder, why his parents named him Titan. It sure is that his parents can really see the future of their son, Titan as the titan of the school.

'What is he doing here early in the morning.' she thought. As she took out her novel from her bag, she heard someone drag a chair.

" I didn't know that you are in this class too. if I had known, I'd asked the teacher to move me." Vanessa looked at Titan who now was standing in front of her, he looked at her disgusted.

"Go on then, ask them to move you out from this class." she snapped, "it will be sooo much better if you aren't here."

Titan glared at her, he scoffed and left.

Vanessa and Titan couldn't get along since they were in the junior high school. Vanessa and the other students see that Titan as a naughty kid with a foul mouth. He liked to dissed other students, even teachers, and it had cost him a few warnings from the school. However, Titan was a smart student. He always ranked first in his class, though he didn't seem as someone who study dilligently. Vanessa was always behind him, she couldn't understand why she couldn't beat him with her scores in the class no matter how hard she study. Until one day, when they were at the eight grade on the second semester, Vanessa was able to be at the top of the class. It made Titan shocked and since that day on he hated Vanessa. He spoke ill whenever Vanessa was around. He even called Vanessa 'dumb' in front of their friends. Vanessa also called him a chubby chicken because Titan was so chubby at that time. He was wearing glasses and had so many acnes on his face.

Their friends were laughing at the name, and started to call him chubby chicken too. They were happy that finally there is someone who dares to fight Titan. The fight heated and it made them were called by the principal. Their parents were called to school, and they got detention. Since that day, nobody ever called Titan a chubby chicken anymore, but no one forget.

At the middle of the ninth grade, Titan and his parents moved to another town, but now he's back. Titan had changed a lot. He used to be short and fat, now he was tall and slim. He has no more acnes on his face and no longer wearing glasses. He is quite good looking. Most girls at school looked at him in awe and curious about him, even wanted to be his girlfriend. Titan was just too arrogant to even bother to look at them. But it even made the girls are crazy about him. Rumor has it that there is a secret group of his fans.

"How cute," Vanessa once said mockingly when her best friend, Lily told her about that.

Vanessa clossed her novel,she didn't have the willingness anymore to read. Now she had to face Titan everyday, she hates it.

"He's an ugly duckling," said Vanessa to Lily. They were sitting at the canteen during recess, when they saw Titan and his friends went in. All eyes were following them. Titan was in the basketball team at school, his team mates were also his friends. They were a bunch of good looking fellas. Their school basketball team won the most prestigious basketball competition among schools since Titan joined in, it made them the most favourite people at school. They walked in group and held their nose high, too proud to look down. Vanessa was irritated whenever she saw Titan and his gank.

Lily stared at Vanessa unbelieveably, "whaaat??" her jaws dropped, "really?" Lily's mind travelled immediately to a future article for her school newspaper.

'it will be a blast if I can make a story about the handsome basketball captain.'

"Don't.." Vanessa said as if she can read her best friend's mind.

"Don't what?" asked Lily absentmindedly, she suddenly remember to chew her food.

"Don't do what you are thinking just now." Vanessa said again.

"huh, it will be a booming article you know," Lily said, "can you imagine, I can finally be the reporter of the month! I can write down our basketball captain's dark past. The Ugly Duckling!" she started to imagine all possible titles. "It's time for Raymond to step down from his throne." her eyes gilstening with fire when she imagined Raymond's expression when she finally could surpass him. Raymond is the other reporter of their school newspaper, and he always got juicy stories, while Lily always stuck with the boring topics.

"nah, Titan is another level of evil. He will made you cry with his sharp tounge." Vanessa said.

"is his tounge sharp?" Lily teased. Vanessa glarred at her then they were laughing.

Titan saw them, his gazed fell on Vanessa and her friend who seemed enjoying their conversation.

"Funny, huh?" he said in a loud voice, he looked at Vanessa, "are you gossiping about other friends again, dumb?" All eyes now went to Vanessa and Lily, including his friends. They were staring at the two of them with a judging look.

"So, your hobby hasn't changed yet, talking bad about others behind their back." Titan's words made other students at the canteen wishpered to each other.

"Let's go from here, Ly." Vanessa stood up and pulled Lily's hand. Lily was dumbstruck, her face was red.

"Come on," said Vanessa again. Lily followed her.

Titan scoffed. Before Vanessa walked far, she stopped and turned around.

"Tsk, I thought our little chubby chicken has changed too. I was wrong." and with that she left with a winning look on her face.

Titan was now red in anger.

When they were back in class, Lily sat right in front of Vanessa, her eyes big. She looked right and left as if she didn't want someone heard what she was about to say.

"Oh. M. Geee," she wishpered, "He is talking to you!"

"soo??" Vanessa frowned, she didn't find it amusing. What Titan said could make other people think wrong about her, she wanted to put the good image of herself in this school, she has goals.

Lily who didn't pay any attention to her friend's discomfort, kept on a happy face as if it was a big news.

"Vaness," she said, "do you know that Titan rarely speak to girls, like... almost never."

"soo..." Vanessa was still unhappy.

"Did you see, Claire's face??" Lily asked.

Vanessa looked at her friend, she looked interested, "Claire was there?" she asked, now it's something.

"yep!" Lily nodded, " did you see how she look?" Lily added, her face full of excitement.

Vanessa shook her head, "no," she said.

"Oh,she looked jealous." Lily chuckled.

"Ooh yeah? that's a great news I've heard all day." they were both laughing.

Claire had never like her, and so does Vanessa. They were both cousin, but Claire comes from a rich family. Her mother looked down on Vanessa's family, especially after her father passed away. Her mother had a small restaurant, she worked hard for her children. Vanessa and her big brother,Dylan,had used to their rich family mocking them. It made them strong. Dylan was in his last year of medical school when his father passed away, while Vanessa was still in junior high school.

Though they were not as rich as other family, they were happy.

'Don't worry mom, once Dylan becomes a doctor, they can eat my shoes!" Vanessa said to her mother when she comforted her after a family visit that resulted in fight.

Among her father's family, the most evil one is her aunt, Claire's mom. She loves to brag and compare Vanessa to Claire.

Vanessa has no possitive points to her aunt,while Claire was a super power princess with tons of greatness in her. Vanessa has zero.

The bell rang, and Lily went back to her class.

Vanessa sat with a triumpath look on her face. She pretended not to look at Titan when he came, Claire was tagging along. She seemed was talking to Titan, but Titan ignored her completely.

'It's a curse,' Vanessa thought, 'what did I do wrong so that I was punished to be in the same class with this two donkeys.' she rolled her eyes.

Titan saw her rolling her eyes, the annoying look came to his face. He stopped midway and shouted at her, "what are you rolling your eyes about, hah?"

Vanessa was surprised, but she said sweetly, "aww, are you staring at me again?"

Titan glared at her, he didn't say any word then went to his desk. While Claire was looking at her angrily.

Vanessa smiled, ' yeah eat that.' she thought, 'two birds one stone.'
