Hudson:
Waking up to the sound of my phone ring, I painfully tossed around in bed with a pillow over my head. This was in a bid to ignore the caller, but then it kept ringing, so I had to get the phone.
Lazily stretching to get my phone, I saw that it was my friend, Devyn.
"Are you sleeping in again?" He asked as soon as I picked the call.
I still had sleep in my eye, so I barely said anything articulately. I was worked up from the previous night, plus my fight with my girlfriend, Christen. Our relationship was far from healthy, but somehow I still wanted it to work. Even though I've been told several times by my friends that she was there for the money.
"The company is here to buy the gold, and if you don't get your *** down here in an hour, we might lose this deal," I heard my other friend, Ajax yell on the phone.
After that, they ended the call. Groaning multiple times on the bed, I forced my eyes open, and then I tried to get out of bed.
Sometimes, I wished my friends were as sensible as I was, that way it'd be easier for them to close a deal without me being present. Deciding to start out a company with a friend was war, then imagine having two of them.
Sitting up, and putting my legs out of the bed, I reached for my slipper. Then I slid my legs into it, and lazily walked to the bathroom.
Looking at myself in the mirror, I could tell how messy and shitty my life looked.
"I hate my life," I said, with a groan.
Then I proceeded to take my bath, and brush my teeth.
While I was in the bath, I thought of the best way to deal with Christine. She was becoming a constant headache, and I didn't know where I was getting it wrong. I gave her every single thing she asked for. She had just returned from a sponsored trip at Sun City, I bought her a new car, and yet nothing seemed to satisfy her.
I really looked forward to getting married this summer, and when I voiced it out to her, she said she wasn't ready. I didn't push it further, and sometimes I wonder if I should have. I mean why would a twenty eight year old woman not want to settle down yet?
"I guess I would never understand women," I said out loud, while having a bath.
As soon as I got out of the bathtub, my phone which was on top of the vanity table in my bathroom rang. It was Ajax again.
"I'm on my way, bye," I said immediately and ended the call.
Maybe I didn't need a break from only Christine, my friends added to how stressed I looked.
Walking out of the bathroom with my towel hanging on my waist, I heard someone knock on my door.
"Who is it?" I asked in a low tone.
"Food is ready," I heard Christine say.
I walked to the door immediately, and unlocked it. Opening it, I saw an empty hallway, it was like she could read my mind. She thought it wise to leave immediately, because she knew I would come after her.
"Okay," I yelled on the hallway, hoping she'd hear me from wherever she was.
After that, I walked back into my room and continued dressing up. When I was done dressing, my friends texted me to let me know the head of the company we had a deal with had arrived. This meant there'd be no time for me to eat whatever Christine prepared.
I had a lot of workers at disposal, so I wondered why she insisted on doing the cooking sometimes. When she wouldn't stop, and wouldn't give a valid reason, I started seeing it as an act of love. This is one of the reasons why I wanted us to work. Other ladies I had, took advantage of the situation in my house, they barely even took care of their own surrounding.
Knotting my tie to perfection while staring at the mirror, I reached for my hair brush. Running it through my hair until I was satisfied, I put it away and reached for my wallet.
After that, I walked downstairs, to the dinning. On getting there, I saw that Christine was still having her breakfast. I sensed another fight coming up, but this one was inevitable, making money was a must.
"Good morning babe," I said, kissing her on her forehead.
As expected, she didn't say a word to me.
"I'll be going to work now, the guys and I have a deal to close, and the company is …"
"When will all this end, Hudson?" She finally spoke.
"What do you mean, Christine?" I asked with a confused look.
"I woke up so early to prepare a meal for you, and this is how you pay me?" She asked.
"In fact, never mind. Carry on with your business, and every other thing you have to do," she said.
Then she continued with her breakfast if Bacon and eggs. I was trying my best to make her happy, but she barely appreciated it. Still I wouldn't stop loving her, until she gives me a reason to do so.
"Goodbye," I said, kissing her cheek.
Then I walked to the front door, taking a glance or two at her before walking out.
"I hope that someday, I'll truly get this right," I said as I walked out of the front door.
"Good morning, sir," my favourite chauffeur, Wyatt said to me, shooting me a smile.
"Good morning, Wyatt," I replied, forcing up a smile on my face too.
Then I walked to my car park, and he followed me closely. When I had chosen the car I wanted to ride in, I got into the back seat, and handed him over the keys.
"I have a meeting to catch, so drive carefully, but quick enough to get to the office in ten minutes," I said to him, and he nodded.
