everyone has their struggles, right? For some people, they have to stand their ground and protect their kingdom from those who wish to take it away from them. From juggling the life of a kingdom in one hand, whilst in the other, they have to juggle personal issues. Now throw into the mix, a conniving evil king who want's nothing more than to destroy Apala Livingston. Follow our young princess as she experiences new things. question is though....will the outcome of these experiences be good or bad?

Many individuals say that being a princess happens to be one of the most easiest job known to any mankind. The only things that they ever truly do is sit there and look pretty for incase a handsome prince comes seeking their hand in marriage, have tea parties with other princesses and gossip about the latest news about fashion. The hot's and not's. Well, Going against "Princess protocol", I choose not to be like the basic princess. My name is apala Livingston and I am the princess of the Argonia kingdom. 

Instead of being that perfect princess like my mother wishes for me to be, I choose to sit behind my desk in my personal office working on a few issues my kingdom is having at this precise moment. The demand for more houses to be made in the south, much-needed supplies for the hospitals, and financial aid with the orphanage. 

As you can see, I'm not your typical princess, am I? After spending some much needed time in my office, I head outside. I look for my dragon, Amethyst. I've had Amethyst way since before she hatched in her egg. Every dragon rider is born being bonded with an egg. This ceremony has gone on for centuries. I smile as Amethyst bends down so I can climb onto the base of her neck. She roars and jumps into the air and flies out to the edge of the border. 

Amethyst lands on a clear patch of grass and I jump off. for a good bit, we just lay there in peace when Amethyst's head shoots up in alarm. I look to her and her eyes clouds over. I hear her voice in my head which is telling me she's mind-linking me. mind-linking is something that each bonded dragon pair has, it's our way of contacting our dragon to ensure each other are safe. 

"Princess apala, there's a group of wolves about 10 miles outside of the border."  She tells me.

"Okay, thank you, Amethyst. Come, let's go greet our guest."  with those words, I jump back onto her neck and we fly off.

Instantly, I am greeted with Lukas, The son of our head general, and 5 other guards. Each on their dragons. Landing gracefully onto the ground, I am instantly surrounded by my guards and with Lukas by my side, each in a protective stance, along with their dragons. 

"Princess Apala, I presume?" The alpha questions. I believe he's the alpha. why else would he be the one who speaks up? 

I nod "You presume correctly alpha. state your business for being here." 

"I have business with your king. With your guidance, we'd like safe passage past your borders. we are perfectly fine with accommodating to any commands you may have." 

I think over it and nod. "the only command I have for you alpha is for each of your guards to ride on the backs of the dragons I have before me. One wrong move from you or any of your guards alpha and I will drop you from the sky without warning. are we clear?" 

"I wouldn't want it any other way princess. Guards, don't do anything rational. Remember we're only here for business." They nod and jump on each one of my guards' dragon's backs. I help the alpha onto amethysts back in which she grunts and flys up into the sky.

As we near the borders, the guards open the portal and we fly through. I flew into the courtyard of the castle, the castle is a pretty big one might I say, there's at least 300 rooms, kitchens, game rooms, movie theaters, inside swimming pools and outside ones, two ballrooms, Tennis courts, basketball courts, training area, bedrooms, bathrooms, dragon training area, courts, courtyard, a bowling alley, a courtroom, and last but not least-and my favorite-a garden.

Jumping off of amethyst's back, I help the alpha down. I nod at amethyst who's look says that she wishes to say with me. I walked into the castle with the alpha and his guards and saw my castle guards bow at me. I bowed my head and continued to walk to the throne room. When I walked in my mother and father were sitting on their thrones. One day, just one day I'll be sitting there.

"Ah, apala, my lovely daughter, why are you here?" my father asks me. 

I bowed "father I'm here because there werewolves on the east border. Their alpha requested to talk to you. Something about important business. "

he nodded "yes, I know, he sent a message. Let him in. "

"Other news too father, there's at least 10 wolves. " I see my father think about something for a minute and start to speak. "only let the alpha in, the other wolves -who I presume are guards- take them to the game room, I'm sure after their long journey they'll want to have something to do until their alpha is done"

I nodded and with that Lukas walked in with the wolves who had been waiting in the entrance area. A door guard started to present everyone in the room.

"Presenting alpha Dawson of the blue crescent moon pack! " says the announcer. 

I nodded to my father and walked towards the group of wolves. "Alpha you may stay, the rest of you must follow me." On cue, the protective wolves growled and stood closer to their alpha.

"Presenting princess apala's loyal dragon, amethyst!" Amethyst walks in through the doors. one thing with being a royal dragon is that she can change her size to as if she was just a newborn dragon. She prances in and stands right beside me. I look down at her and mind leak her saying 

"come, let's take these wolves to the game room"  she growls an approving growl and I smile at her.  

leading a bunch of curious wolves who were defiantly against leaving their alpha in the first place to a gaming room isn't exactly easy. After a couple of minutes we made it to the game room after passing at least 20 or 30 rooms. The guards opened the door and we walked inside. The wolves gasped and ran inside. Everyone had something to do, either playing the Xbox's, PlayStation's, laptops, desktops, any electronic you could name, except phones, we don't keep them in here. I sat down on a couch and started playing on my galaxy 8 + phone.

I turned my Bluetooth headphones on and connected my phone to it. I clicked on one of my favorite songs, battle scares by Lupe fiasco and guy Sebastian. I am later woken up to amethyst slightly shaking me.

I opened my eyes to see amethyst, "you're parents are done talking to the alpha. They wish to see you" I nodded and sat up. "Stay here with the wolves, I'll be back in a bit. Okay?" She nodded in understanding. I walked out of the room and walked down the big hallways of the castle, I soon made it to the throne room and heard the guard pronounce my appearance.

I looked at the thrones and saw it was the alpha and my father there, wonder what happened to mother? Hmm, oh well. "You called father?" He nodded and I walked over to him, I bowed and looked at him. "Apala... you're not gonna like this and you know I love you" "ya..." why do I have a feeling this isn't gonna be good. " we'regonnabehavingthewolfacademycometoourschoolandyou'regonnabetheirtourguideforpartofit" he breathed out really fast. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, I'm gonna be what now? And who's? "

He had the look of fear in his eyes, He knows I don't like wolves and he's gonna make me do this? " sweetie... darling... I love you... um... you see the alpha here is the headmaster of werewolf academy. He came to see if uh..." I glared hard at my father. He trembled in fear. As the alpha noticed the king could not speak, he spoke for him.

"I was wondering if maybe you could tour, just one class, not the whole academy, around the castle? This will be their end of the year field trip so I was hoping the future queen could tour them and let them stay here for about a month or two. You will never have to see us again after this. " I was mad, no wait, more than mad. He expects me, ME for all sakes! I hate wolves.

Calm down Apala, breath in. Breath out. Breath in. breath out. I looked at the alpha. "no. Get someone else to do it. I'll only be a spectator. " he had a thinking face on. "well Princess you may find your mate during this." I hissed. My father cowardly shrunk on to the wall. You see I got my father's traits and looks but I got my mother's anger and it only worsened for me.

"Don't you dare say that! Ever! " he smiled and nodded. I'll murder him for even thinking that. "Calm down Apala, I can feel your anger and it only makes my dragon even more mad. She's half tempted to shift right here and now because of your anger. " I nodded mentally at amethyst.

I sighed. "I'm only spectating. Get someone else to do it. Besides, I doubt my mate will be a wolf. I don't even like wolves. " he tsked. "That's what you might think. You never know. " I rolled my eyes and smiled. I walked out of the throne room wondering how everything will turn out. Maybe having wolves here won't be a bad thing... maybe one will be my mate. No! I smacked my face. Stop it apala, it just won't happen.

I groaned as I sat in a clearing by the castle. My little black and blue-eyed, grey Siberian husky puppy growled as he chased a firefly around the clearing. I smiled at him. " shadow! Come here, boy!" He stopped chasing the firefly and ran over to me jumping into my lap. "Good boy" he barked and licked my hand. I giggled as what he was doing was ticklish.

"Come on shadow, we have to get back to the castle. The wolves should be flying in soon." He growled at wolves. "Me and you both boy, me and you both" we walked back to the castle and I went to my room while he went back to his mother. I changed into my black suit and put my bow and arrows on my back (kind of like Katniss from hunger games) and put my tiara on to represent my status.

After I was done dressing I did my hair into a braided ponytail and put eyeliner and a little blush on. Once done the maids came in to clean my room and I took that as my cue to leave. I walked down the stairs and looked at everyone who was running around trying to get ready for the arrival of the wolves.  I walked outside and as soon as I did I saw my mother and father out there with 20 guards around them. I Also saw amethyst. Guess she shifted already.

My mother came up to me. "Remember, you must act princess-like. Don't slouch and don't be ru-" I cut her off. "Mother I know this already. Now if you don't mind, I have a barrier to get to" I heard my father snicker and my mother turned and glared at him, he instantly shut up.

My mother turned around to say something "ap-" "bye dad love you!" With that, I flew into the sky seeing an angry-looking mother. I laughed. I love messing with her. About 5 guards on dragons flew up beside me. I nodded at them and we flew to the barrier. My great great great grandmother made the barrier in order to protect the land.

We made it where only a chosen few people are allowed into the barrier with permission. We soon made it to the barrier and the guards stationed there opened the barrier for us to pass. I flew through it and just kept flying straight knowing the plane would soon be in my eyesight. After 3 minutes of flying I see the plane and with amethyst eyesight I saw about two pilots, and about 30 or so kids.

I looked at the guards and they knew what that meant, they surrounded the plane and I flew beside them as well. I stood up on amethyst's back and saw all the wolves look at me and the dragon riders. Some girls glared at me because all the guys looked at me but others looked and battered their eyelashes at the guards.

The guards ignored them and I snickered. Serves the girls right. I looked through the plane once more and my eyes landed on one dude in particular. A voice inside of me kept repeating "mate! Mate! " crap. I looked away and as I did I saw hurt in his eyes. Something in my chest made me want to comfort him but I went against it. I soon saw the barrier in my eyesight. " guards! Keep track of the plane!" They all nodded and I'm sure amethyst said the same to the other dragons in her language because she roared and the other dragons nodded.

I sat back down on amethyst's back and flew towards the barrier "open the barrier!" With that, the barrier opened and I flew through, the plane did too and the barrier closed. We guided the plane to the landing area. Once they landed they all got into limos and I flew down to the mysterious boy. " hello little mate" I nearly melted at his voice.

No! Apala snap out of it. I looked away. " guards, take them all to the castle. Make sure no damage comes to them. I'll fly from above" they nodded and bowed. Mystery man looked at me and growled when I said fly in the air. I smiled and jumped onto amethyst's back and took off into the sky.

I saw the limos start driving towards the castle and soon we got there. I jumped off of amethyst's back when I was in the sky, not too far from the ground though. Once I landed mystery man came running out the limo growling. He ran over to me and checked me all over making sure I didn't harm myself. " what were you thinking! You made me and my wolf scared! "

I growled at him " I don't care what you and your wolf has to say. It's not the first time I've done it" he growled at my disrespect towards him. I saw his eyes turn from his chocolate brown eyes to pitch-black eyes. " do NOT disrespect me little mate. " I glared at him hard. "Now I know why I hate wolves and hated the idea of having a werewolf mate "

With that, I turned around and walked away. Amethyst, who already shifted back to human, walked up beside me and hissed at mystery man. I walked into the castle to see all the students in the throne room already. I walked up to my father. " thanks father you were a big help in reminding me why I hate werewolves"

With that I stormed out the castle and to the training courts. I grabbed my bow and arrows and put an arrow in the bow. I pulled the string back and aimed towards the target. I let the string go and it right into the middle. "Bullseye "

I smiled and did that for God knows how long. I yawned and looked towards the sky. When did it get so dark? "you've been out here for Awhile. Everyone was already shown to their room and are asleep. " I looked behind me and saw mystery man.

"Look I'm sorry I got all male possessive wolf earlier, I spaced out when I saw you jump from the sky and land on the ground. I'm a male alpha wolf. If you were in my position seeing your mate jump from the sky and possibly hurt themselves, would you do the same?"

I.just.crapped. myself. My mate is a freaking alpha wolf! " alpha, mate, or nothing, you don't get an attitude with me. Last I checked I have a higher status than you!" He looked hurt and I felt his emotions. I sigh "look I'm sorry, it's just, it's been a really rough week with my duty's and me having to basically supervise a bunch of wolves around my castle."

I looked down and felt arms wrap around me. I gasp and look up, mystery man puts his face in my neck and breathes in my scent. I tense. Slowly I un-tense and hug him back " I'll give us a chance " with that he sat up face and he was grinning like crazy " but" his face dropped at but. " you have to promise not to get all crazy on me if I do something like I did earlier" he hesitated but slowly nodded.

"Good, now-" I yawn as I finish my sentence "it's late and we should be going to bed " I felt him pick me up bridal style and walk towards the castle. As I feel content and loved I slowly close my eyes knowing I'm safe in his arms. But, before I fall asleep I remember to ask his name. " what's your name mystery man?"

He chuckles at mystery man. "My name is donte. Future alpha donte Braxton of the sunlight pack " I nod and fall asleep in his arms, for once, feeling really happy with life.

I wake up to the sound of barking. I groan and feel slobber on my face. "Ewww shadow! You're so nasty!" I wipe my face off and push him off of my bed.

I sit up and see the maids coming in. One maid is holding a tray full of food. Another is currently starting a bath and getting it ready for me.

The maid brings over my food and I tell her to sit it to the side. I dismiss the maids and do all the morning routines I usually do, which consists of taking a bath, getting dressed, toilet, teeth and all that stuff.

I stretch as I finish all of it and eat a couple of pieces of oranges that are on the tray. I go over to my closet and hit the wall beside the door. A secret wall appears that is full of weapons. I grab my bow and my arrows putting them behind my back, then I grab some small knives and stick them all over in my body, hiding them.

I walked out of my room and down the dark corridors. Yes, I said dark, every morning since I was 13 I've woken up at 4:30 in the morning. 30 minutes to get ready and 2 hours to train since my family gets up at 7.

I walk to the training Area and already see it empty except for the guards who are on duty. They all nod their heads in my presence. I nod back and start training for the next two hours.

I stretch, hearing all my muscles pop. I walk over to the benches grabbing my water bottle, that a maid brought for me and started drinking from it.

Next thing I know, a knife comes hitting my water bottle and it bust's falling on the ground. Luckily, no water got on me. I know that knife skill anywhere.

I turn around and see the one and only partner who I ever spare With, mike Woodson. He twirls a knife in his hand and whistles acting like he didn't do anything.

Ever since I was a kid mike and I would train together. He is the head guards son. He's pretty good looking, I mean for a guy who has red hair, hazelnut eyes, bout 6feet, really deep dimples, and a kind of deep voice.

" ahh so the famously 2nd place winner wants a challenge? Is this what I see?" He glares at me and throws the knife I barely miss but I do and the knife jingles as it is hit hard on the wall.

"Hey! You could've killed me!" He just smirks at me. " oh, but dear princess, I didn't. Now get your slow butt over here so we can practice." I grumble but do as he says.

He's only a month younger than me, but he acts like he's older. I get into my fighting stance and so does he. We circle around each other trying to find each others weaknesses.

He's the first one to attack. He launches a punch at my face but I quickly dodge punching a blow into his stomach. He coughs out blood and I smile in triumph. During my little victory moment, he catches me off guard and punches me in the face.

Surely, leaving a bruise or cut. I spit blood out of my mouth and taste the copper taste in my mouth. I must admit, that was one good punch. Suddenly a huge growl was heard and the next thing I know, I see Mike being tackled and viciously growled at by donte. "Donte! Let him go!"

I ran over to him to see Donte bout to punch him. I grab his hands and pull him, we'll try to pull him off of Mike. I see him relax a little and that gives me enough strength to push him off of mike. I see him fall on his butt and I help pick Mike up " are you okay Mike? "

He nods and I'm suddenly being pushed behind someone. From the sparks I know it's Donte. I see that he's tensed and I hug him from behind. He slowly untenses but still on guard. " Donte this is my friend, and my training partner. We were only practicing. We weren't actually fighting. "

He turns and looks at me. "Are you sure?" I nod and he sighs. He looks at Mike. "I'm sorry for my rudeness. I just got a little mad and my wolf took control at seeing you punch our mate. " he nods in understanding. "It's fine. I'm glad to meet the future king of Argonia. " he bows. I totally forgot! Once I met my mate he becomes the king!

How could that slip my mind. "King? There's no way I'm gonna be king. Unless apala is the...." I laugh " nice to meet you, Donte. I am princess apala, heir and future queen of the Argonia kingdom. " he stands there flabbergasted. I guess since the wolves have been here, I've kept my scent to where I'm a rank of a guard. It's pretty easy when you learn to do it a lot. I just haven't released that scent. I laugh once more and he bows.

"My queen," he says. I shake my head. " you're my mate, you are now equal to me. Stand up" he does as I say and I look at Mike. "Later we will continue practicing. For now, I wish to get to know my future king. " he nods and leaves.

I look at Donte and see his eyes filled with love, proudness, lust and so much more. "What?" He shakes his head. "Oh nothing, just that my mate is the princess of an important kingdom. " I blush "I mean, it's nothing. A princess isn't a princess because of her crown, it's Because of what she does." At least that's what my father tells me.

He picks me up bridal style and takes me to his room in the castle. I stay quiet as he puts me on his bed. He sits beside me and out of nowhere he says "go on a date with me?"

I nod. I mean what's the crime? It's just one little date. He smiles and I smile back. " apala, your father wishes to see you. He says it's time to show everyone around the castle. " I nod mentally at what amethyst said.

"What's wrong?" Donte asks me. "Nothing, it's just my father wants me to show everyone around the castle now. "

I sigh as I get up. Donte stands up and is beside me instantly. We walk downstairs to the throne room and see all the students there. There's one student in particular who I see.

she couldn't have survived that day... I watched her die...
